The pressure to show credit card & commit to listen to presentation to become a member as soon as we arrive at resort was unacceptable, after traveling all day. Certain amenities offered to members only was available we were told they cater to families and they only have 1 king size bed per floor. We had to go in town to eat 1 day and ordered room service for 3 meals because food choices were very bad. So my experience here makes me not want to visit any of their other facilities. and I will not be returning.
In general, our stay was good, the only problem is that there's only a few loungers and palapas to rest by the beach. However, even when the beach is tiny, it is a great place to go snorkeling. Also the infinity pools are great. But the bars close early (at 6)
Overall this was a great vacation for the family. Stay away from the "specialty restaurants" and just stick with the buffet or find some local cuisine...La Mission is great and not far. The Funtastic team is fantastic! Very entertaining and always had something going on for the whole family to participate in.
Everything was good especially Norma thanks so much the night shows entertainment a lots swimming pool good sport bar excelente and food goo the personal in the varanda restaurant excellent thanks too everyone
We've visited Park Royal Cozumel almost every year since 2000, with a handful of exceptions. As always, the service level from the employees (bartenders, waiters, etc.) is the high point of the trip. Staff is willing to go above and beyond to please the guests. I would normally rate this property a 4 or 5, but we experienced some maintenance issues and food quality issues that were repetitive. Some positives: there are more available lounge chairs and umbrellas; the music level is very low in the pool and beach areas, creating a more relaxing environment. Unlike prior years, the snack area near the pool was stocked well up until closing time. Menus in the gourmet restaurants have changed and have a nice selection. In prior years, they also had nice menus, but I'm mentioning this as a plus since we visit often and appreciate the variety. Also as always, the resort is very clean in the common areas. It's easy to find assistance when needed. Areas needing improvement: we had two rooms, a suite and a studio. The guests in the studio had to move 3 times in order to get a room with functioning air conditioning in order to find one that cooled at less than 77F/25C. In all 3 of those studios plus in the suite, the water temperature couldn't be controlled. You were going to get either an ice-cold shower or a scalding hot one. We contacted maintenance, but the issue wasn't resolved. There used to be 4 functioning elevators, but only 1 or 2 elevators were functioning the whole time we were there. One elevator was down for an upgrade, one was just shut down completely, leaving only two elevators unless one of those was also down. All guests and employee staff had to use those 1 or 2 elevators, creating long queues. While there were more lounge chairs and umbrellas, people were reserving the chairs early in the morning, but essentially, the chairs were unused for most of the day. This was uber-annoying. One of the best parts about our stay has always been the gourmet restaurants. This time we experienced food quality issues that we've never encountered before, in the 20+ years we've been visiting. The soup served to us (not soup from a tureen) was tepid at best as were most of the main courses. Our guess is that the food sits out for a bit before making its way to the table. We're not sure why, as this has never been a problem before. It was an ongoing issue at all 3 restaurants, so it would seem that there's a general process issue.…
This hotel was very nice. Great location, VERY clean. The best staff I’ve ever encountered. Every single person was amazing. I would have enjoyed a little more night life but other than that it was great. We will be going back
Everyone was taken care of by the staff, from checking in, getting to our room with our luggage, the meals and snacks at the restaurants, the pool areas always tidy and very attentive by the staff, the housekeeping be thorough and just the warmness of the staff in smiling and allowing me to try speaking in Spanish (knowledge can be described as Yo hablo pequeno espanol. Hope to get the opportunity to get back there next year.
Our favorite place to stay. Staff is friendly, food is good and close to multiple docks if you dive. Been coming here for over a decade. Tried others, we come back here. They’ve added entertainment and shows in the evening. Some supply chain issues but that’s true everywhere. They still take good care of you and it’s always a good time. Nice break after a few years of COVID and there restrictions are minimum.
We stayed here in August ,for 8 nights. The location is great! The pools were really nice and the bar tenders were very good. We stayed here for the first time last year in July. We had a garden view , The air conditioning worked great! The refrigerator worked great and the room was clean. Our shower leaked really bad , had to put a towel down every time to catch the water running out. The workers were all very friendly and worked hard!!! The food was not good . At breakfast it was ok because of the lady making omelettes to order but there was very few food items to choice from same with lunch . Dinner was the worst !! the buffet was terrible and we didn’t feel like standing in line to eat at the a la cart restaurants .So we ate in town every night . Which was very good but defeats the purpose of all inclusive!!! If they would work on improving their food we would come back…
