The staff are disgusting! The rooms are horrible and the food is beyond edible. I had a member of staff come into my room for no reason in the afternoon after my friend went out and they assumed we had left for the afternoon. However I was poorly ( probably from the food ) and in the bathroom when leaving the toilet I was shocked to find her going through my handbag! I have never been in so much disbelief! I confronted her and she ran out the room. She was wearing full uniform so I new she worked for the hotel and when I went to reception with all of my stuff because clearly I felt unsafe I was told I could not receive a refund so had to leave empty handed. The manager RENE smiled at me and told me to enjoy my stay somewhere else!! DISGUSTING! This is a big hotel run only for high end Americans and unless you are that they treat you like scum it was not enjoyable from the start and made even worse when I had to deal with this! Please save yourself and your money and stay somewhere safe! I have traveled around Mexico and various other country’s never ever have I had to deal with such!… the audacity of the staff entering my room and searching my belongings, I’m not sure what she was after but am still shook up about this! If I could give 0 stars I would!

From the staff, who genuinely care for the guests, to the clean resort, this place is our favorite resort in Cozumel. Stay away from the grouchy chef at the hamburger bar and the crabby lady at the taco bar. These 2 staff members do not reflect the rest of the staff.

I was definitely nervous about staying here but was glad to be wrong! 3 pools was great to help over crowding, the adults only pool is a must. Check in and check out was no problem for me at all, I walked up to the desk and was in/out in just a handful on minutes. Lots of activities and shows everyday to keep things exciting. The beach area is a bit on the smaller side just an FYI, but it's right there for you to walk in. Easy to get towels conveniently. Just make sure you know there is a dress code for lunch and dinner for the restaurants! Sleeves are required! They said no shorts, but I wore shorts everyday for dinner and had no issues. Be warned the bathrooms in the room are TINY. A fun trip and will definitely be back!

This is a great all inclusive hotel for the price. Food was plentiful and excellent and they serve bottled water at all the restaurants as well as supply it for your room. We enjoyed the events that we went too and the activities that were available. The service was also very good everywhere throughout the resort. The only downside was that the elevator was very slow as one elevator was being repaired in our building.

We stayed for five nights as a family vacation, despite having stayed before and having had a bad experience, we wanted to give it a second chance. We booked two rooms for the family which weren’t ready upon arrival, they gave us one around 4 pm and the other two hours later. Facilities are decent and they keep common areas very clean. There was an elevator out of service and a single one was not enough, we had to wait several times either to go up or down. Rooms are old, our door didn’t properly work and got stuck, although it was repaired quickly when reported. Room was serviced regularly and on time. Water didn’t drained properly in the shower and sink (pic) Food variety at buffet restaurant Veranda is limited and recycled, breakfast is decent though. Specialty restaurants lack a reservation system, it works on a first come first serve basis and not all dishes on menu are available. Food is better than the buffet. Beverages are low quality with a very small selection of mid quality liquors, beer tastes as if it was diluted. Personnel attitude sometimes very negative, they tend to say no instead of offering options. It seems that overall the hotel is understaffed and waiters and service personnel are already burned out. Marcelino at the pool bar stands out from the rest as he’s very attentive, always willing to please his guests. Beach is tiny but offers great snorkeling opportunities, if you’re Scuba diving, the hotel offers no pier to pick you up, you have to pay the dive shop next door to use theirs. Night shows are good, worth mentioning the water and fire shows. We witnessed an incident at the pool where there was a fight among some guests and security personnel did nothing but watch the fight. There were families with children around and the men fighting were throwing chairs. On our last night at the hotel there was a water leak nearby, room got flooded. (pic) Would I give Grand Park Royal a third chance? Definitely no. This experience just confirmed that service has not improved over the years. They have a mistaken concept of “Luxury Resorts”. I would look for a better place to put my money. In a word, disappointing.

For the most part, A la carte dining felt like buffet food thrown in a plate. No care in presentation and no consistency among plates served. Otherwise a nice resort with good snorkeling right in front of the resort. Great bar staff and nice pools

The resort is nice, clean, and family friendly. There are three sit down order from menu restaurants: Italian, seafood, and Mexican, two quick snack restaurants - tacos, burgers & fries, and a buffet restaurant. There are three swim up bars: two family and one adults only. There is also a sports bar and a walk up bar near the reception area. If that isn’t enough, you can get ice cream, coffee, desserts and ready to go sandwiches throughout the day in another little cafe. The staff is very accommodating and did a pretty good job of making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I have a couple observations about the order from the menu Italian and Mexican restaurants. Spouse is allergic to seafood so we didn’t try that restaurant. The wait staff wanted to tell you the menu and expect you to remember the forty seven items on it when they were done. Tried it one time, after that they gave us a menu. Take your smart phone because you need to scan a QR code for the menu. Oh yeah, the wifi is only fair inside the restaurants, so be patient. If you dive on an early boat there is a once a day room service option, but it didn’t really thrill me. Room service is available 24 hours a day. I was told that you should expect about a one hour delay from order to food delivery. I called at 5:30 a.m. to be told I can’t get breakfast yet, they are still serving supper menu. 5:30 a.m. is still supper, I guess feel free to order that tenderloin. Call at 6:00 a.m. and breakfast arrives 50 minutes later and it’s stone cold. I guess French toast is normally served cold. The buffet restaurant opens at 7:00 am. So the room service saved me 10 minutes. Woo hoo! I went to buffet after that and made the boat wait until 7:20 a.m. I guess they play volleyball on the beach but we were usually diving so didn’t take part in it. If the three pools aren’t enough you can swim at the beach. There is a dive shop on site, but they don’t keep tanks there for a quick check out dive. They are happy to put you on their boat for dive trip. I guess the tanks on the boat aren’t for anyone in particular, they’re just not for a shore dive. Interesting. Also, unless you dive with them, they won’t let you use their rinse tank for your gear. Probably for the best since there isn’t any place to hang gear up to dry. So, plan on schlepping it back to your room for a rinse in the shower and a trail of water on the way to your balcony. At least they didn’t complain about hanging dive gear out on the balcony: on the chairs and over the railings. The only complaint about the room is one chair on the balcony was tore up on the seat. When I asked for a replacement I was told the chairs are all the same. Hmmm. Everyone has a torn chair? In summary, we met some wonderful people; some at the adult pool, some on the dive boat. Had some okay meals: some hot, some cold, and some blah. The staff is accommodating and remember if you tell them about a food allergy. The wife is allergic to seafood and they kept tabs on what they offered her from the menu. If I was going for family vacation that allowed a chance to dive, nice place. If you are going to dive-dive-dive, there are other options that may suit you better.

The hotel is beautiful, check in was good, we got a welcome cocktail, receptionist was polite The problem started when we went downstairs to one restaurant the taco bar The girl behind the desk was super rude she didn’t want to serve us But there was a guy ther called Cosme, he was very polite and served us food and drinks We went then to the infinite pool, there weren’t any servers AT ALL So if you would want a drink you would have to go a get it from The bar yourself The worst part was when I went to the bathroom, they had multiple stalls but idk why they were locked… The womens restroom was worse the wasn’t any toilet paper ( do me the freaking favor) I went to place a complaint at the front desk, the guy was a bit polite but he couldn’t do anything and seemed like he didn’t care So I don’t think they fixed the situation however I didn’t come back the other days. Room service sucks, food is poor and cold The pasta restaurant is not that good food is tasteless however waiters were polite at that restaurant

Great resort need to add comfortable chairs to the room. Clean I have really knocked down room rating because of chairs. If you need to stay in room for any reason it is hard to be comfortable in room chairs for longer than 1/2 hour. Scuba diving is best in this hemisphere.

It’s our second at this resort in 4 years. I will be as objective in my review as possible. 1. It’s take a long time to check in to the room. There is only one clerk operates at the time and the process is very slow. 2. The room is not ready when you arrive and you usually have to wait until around 4pm to check in. 3. The rooms are very old, dated and furniture and bedding is very worn out. 4. The rooms are cleaned well daily (Antonio was great!) 5. The food at the breakfast buffet is at most ok. Fresh eggs and papaya are the best choice! Mirabel who makes eggs is awesome! The wait staff is very nice and helpful. The lunch and dinner buffet are terrible! It looks like they damp all the leftovers into one dish !🤮🤮🤮 The Mexican, The Italian and the Fish restaurants are hit and miss. If you want to eat well you go outside of the resort. 6. The liquor is diluted, but the bar staff is awesome (Carlos at the pool bar is amazing!) 7. The night entertainment is very basic, the entertainment staff is not engaging at all! 8. The resort has a very tiny beach area and the entrance to the water is very rocky. Also the beach is dirty with empty cans and cigarettes butts. Most beach beds are broken. 9. The pools are ok. In general this resort needs a better management and renovation. The friendly staff is the best part of it. It’s by far not luxury and at most a 3-star rating. For the same money you can go to a much nicer resort in Cuba or Dominican Republic.
