We took our family of 5 to sunscape resort for the first time. We had a really good experience, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. All the staff were very welcoming & a joy to get to know. Our room was very nice & kept clean daily, they stocked our fridge daily as well. We really enjoyed the entertainment throughout the day & the evening shows were always a joy to watch. We are planning to return again soon.

This was my 4th time staying at the sunscape sabor. Even with all the changes due to covid we had a fabulous time. The staff was AMAZING! They were so friendly and helpful. Sandra was awesome! She helped us pull of a last minute birthday celebration. She went above and beyond for us. Brit and Leo with the entertainment staff we great as well! Loved our time there.

My husband and I joined his family for some much needed sunshine. Cozumel was a new experience for us and we both loved it! The entertainment staff was amazing! Leo, Brith, Sandra and Jonny were personable, fun and encouraged people to participate without being pushy. They even came when we were leaving to wish us well and say see you later. They really made the resort have a family feel. Also, Wilbert was a great bartender. The food was good, staff were great about answering questions and the beach and views were awesome. I was apprehensive traveling because of Covid but didn’t need to be. They were taking all the right steps to keep us safe. We would definitely return!

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. I very seldom write reviews, but I do look at them when buying or traveling. We have traveled some and know that every resort has its pluses and minuses. We are not picky people. We paid full price for this vacation and expected full amenities. Nowhere on their website do they say COVID is causing issues. The Good: It was below zero at home and in the 80’s so the weather was beautiful. The resort was clean even though it was under a lot of construction. The general flavor of the food was good, and the staff was in general very pleasant. Irving at the front desk was amazing, he remembered my name and did what he said he would. No reservations needed at any restaurant, but the resort was not very full. We got a couple’s message at the Spa and it was very good. The Bad: the construction started at 7:00 am and was hammers, chainsaw and drills right next to our building (we upgraded to ocean view and the view was awesome). Of the four restaurants there was usually only 2 open and the one was never open. The menu was the same all week and NO BUFFET. Yeah, I know, no buffet at a Mexican all inclusive????? They said it was COVID (which we heard that excuse a lot) After talking with other visitors of other resorts we found out that their buffets were open and amazing with the only change being the staff filled your plate for you. The resort was about 20% full and they only had the one bar open by the pool. Now and then a waiter would come onto the beach and get drinks for us. The beach bar was never open. The Ugly: The tub/shower was gross and leaked out onto the floor. The shower doors paint was peeling off in chunks and the floor drains cap was never fastened. All of this with the super high tub sides made this bathroom less than desirable. The maid (even with tipping) never replaced the soap and was very restrictive on toilet paper. I helped myself to the maid’s cart when I needed supplies, but I shouldn’t have had to. The food menu was very limited (I know I mentioned this under The Bad but it deserves being mentioned twice). We had one person out of our group of three couples ask for a meeting with the resort manager. We simply wanted to see if we could upgrade to the restaurants at the Secrets which connected to our resort. We were willing to pay more to do so. They said she could meet with the manager but a food service assistant manager met with her and offered he one breakfast and one dinner upgrade to Secrets but said we could not pay for an upgrade and they could not give us anything more. We kept hearing how COVID was the issue. I believe the ugliest issue was that the management did not care. They were under construction, low on tourists and we were going to get what we get and like it. I would highly recommend staying as far away from this resort as possible unless you can get a killer deal and I mean killer….like $350/person for 7 nights including airfare.

We had a great experience at Sunscape Cozumel. The hotel is very good for family vacation. Quiet and nice as expected. The people who work there are always happy and ready for treat you on the best way they can. We feel very comfortable and safe during this Covid-19 pandemic. Special thanks to the food crew : Eduardo, Rodolfo, Angel, Veridiana, Margarito, Joel (from the bar) , the other who did all mimosas and serve the breakfast buffet. Also thanks to the entertainment group Britty, Eddy and everybody envolved in the nice activities. Sorry I didn’t get all the names but also thanks to the “door” guy at the entrance , the gate crew and specially to the room cleaners and drink stocker. You guys were great and we already missing you. We hope to be back soon . Thank you from rooms 3313, 3314 and 3322 ( The 8 people Brazilian family ).
