Our room was not ready until much later than check in time. We had a second floor ocean view room. Not worth the extra cost. Cockroaches were not welcome however not a huge surprise in the tropics. I did not enjoy chasing them around the bathroom. Plumbing issues were also not fun when the toilet overflowed. The breakfast buffet served at the Marketplace (a Secrets property that adults only were permitted to use because some Sunscape restaurants were not available due to construction) was good. The food at the Sunscape property restaurants was edible, at best and the service slower than molasses. You could not even call it "island time" because that is much faster than the service at these restaurants. This is an all inclusive property and we ended up spending extra money on taxis and dinners in town. Check out was miserable because there were only two people handling the many guests trying to leave. Be aware that you will be approached to attend a "Vacation Club" (ie. timeshare) presentation. I was not expecting this and found it irritating. On a positive note, the staff was pleasant. I will not book this property again and do not recommend it.…
Would definitely not recommend RCI Sunscape Sabor. Nothing was as advertised, most all amenities were not available or honored. Food at all inclusive was mediocre at best. Staff was unhelpful. Pool furniture was broken. Adult area was closed. Rooms were outdated and furniture was stained. We also did not receive the beachfront room we booked. Wait staff was nearly nonexistent. Restaurants not open during advertised hours of operation as stated. Nothing was 24-7 as advertised. Pool was lighted but closed at 8 pm and had to share the kids pool as the adult only area was closed all week. Front desk staff was unwilling to honor advertised amenities and pricing charging us extra for all inclusive package not honoring our booking discounts for our guests, speaking to us as children and very condescending. The resort staff in many areas refused service if it was not convenient for them. The resort coupons were very limited in there usage. The sales staff was hounding from the moment you checked in trying to sell their own timeshare interests. I would not recommend this RCI international resort to anyone.! RCI should pullout of this affiliation and find a better location in Cozumel. The island was beautiful but you should find a different location.…
Not as advertised! One and a half restaurants, one swimming pool with a lot of kids, not many bars staffed with one bartender, Hotel old and dirty, beach rocky, entertainment geared around kids. Not a strong structure potentially due to construction to the new Dreams being built next door. Staff works hard with what they have.
We were checked in by Samuel who was very courteous and he managed to find a room for us on the beach which we were thrilled by. We had to fill in some convid paperwork during our check-in. So now for the meals…We never tried the buffet apart from the BBQ as it did not look too appealing. The lunch and dinner in Sunnyside arrived tepid so we chose to stop dining there and switched to El Patio even though the decor of El Patio is rather depressing. The international menu at Sunnyside had ‘jerk chicken’ as an option on the international menu but if any Jamaican was to taste the Jerk chicken they would be extremely insulted as the taste did not resemble Jerk spice in any single way. The breakfasts in both restaurants were good. By far the best place to have lunch was the snack bar and El Patio for dinner (a la carte). Be warned that because there is no reservation system there may be a long wait for a table. The restaurants seemed to be short staffed at the best of times. Masks were enforced upon the guests by the staff but not everyone complied fortunately but the hotel did their best. All the staff wore their masks at all times, in the heat so working conditions can’t be very pleasant for them. It also does not make for a good customer experience and it hinders communication. Now this is probably the worst part about the resort. On the day we arrived I overheard a lady warning her child to take caution in the swimming pool as someone had cut their foot. On one of the other days I saw a lady seek attention from the Paramedic as she had unknowingly cut her foot. I warned another parent about the pool and unfortunately ten minutes later my son was the next victim. Fortunately the 1cm cut was not too deep and in a couple of days he was able to enjoy the rest of his holiday without much discomfort but he did lose a lot of blood which was quite unsightly. My husband investigated the pool and found a chipped tile in the area that the slide was in. The hotel really need to find a way to fix the issue otherwise they could be faced with a lawsuit. These two negatives were outweighed by the positives which were the warmth of the majority of the staff, especially the entertainment team Aaron and Montserrat who work so hard. The kids club team were incredible too but my son is slightly older now to spend too much time in the kids club. The main reasons for choosing this hotel in Cozumel were for the entertainment and the snorkelling. I’d read that the resort has foam parties and a DJ. DJ Manuel you made my vacation. Thank you so much for playing all my song requests so I was able to do lots of dancing! The room was adequate, spacious toiletries in the bathroom were great but not enough storage space for our clothes so we had to keep items in the suitcase. One last point. My son lost a pair of trousers and one beach shoe and I heard from another guest that his shirt went missing too so try not to leave anything on the sun loungers as their lost property system does not work very well. Overall we had an amazing time and made some amazing friends at the resort as the other guests were so friendly.…
Our stay with Sunscape was less than impressive. We ran into nothing but problems with our reservation, accommodations, and room. We were sad, as we have stayed with AMR many times (Dreams or Secrets). On the last day we decided to utilize the spa to relax before leaving to go back home. We all did the hydro-therapy which was an amazing experience! I believe her name was Lucia, was a gracious host and made the experience very relaxing. I personally got the 80 minute hot stone massage and it was the BEST part of my vacation. Joy was very professional and he listened to my needs, adjusting the massage accordingly. He was very friendly and I felt very comfortable and relaxed with him! I get massages frequently back home and this was by far the best.
We needed a getaway with beautiful beaches, water, and service. We got just that! The staff at Sunscape Sabor were the best. Friendly, appreciative of us being there, and willing to accommodate any need. The entertainment was fun and Aaron and Mons who ran the daily activities were amazing. So much energy and you couldn’t help but to have fun. Jose, Murricio, and Wilburt at Tortuga bar were the best. Angel at Starboard lobby bar was also amazing. We will return…only this time we will bring our adult children and their girlfriends.
We booked 2 nights to celebrate our 22nd anniversary. By mistake we type the wrong dates so the check in was one night earlier than what we plan. Basically we missed one night! When we arrive, Samuel (in the picture) from front desk did the impossible possible to extend our stay as we initially planned without any extra charge. We couldn’t believe that! He saved our dream! All the staff is incredible gentle and caring. Our diet is vegan so they were so flexible to attend our requires at all the time! Incredible experience! Recommended!🔝
We stayed at the Sunscape Sabor Cozumel for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary and it was just incredible!! To start with I had a mistake booking the hotel room so when we arrived there we lost one night already and was shocking for us, but the staff was the best one in the world and they managed to move the day again for us to be able to celebrate the 2 days! Samuel in reception was the best person ever! The Oceanfront room was just breathtaking, the all-inclusive was great too and the Tortuga bar on the beach with reggae music watching the sunsets was just incredible!! They even allowed us to stay the day of our check out until 17:00pm using the facilities! the beach is just great and you can nook tours to Cielito from there! A paradise you guys must see! Playa del Carmen was really bad with the seaweed and we decided to celebrate here! Thanks !!!!!…
We were given a ‘garden view’ room which was a view of the back of the restaurant. The exhaust fan blew in our room if we opened the veranda door. We would have been happy to look at a garden. The food was not good. I got sick on the 5th day, we only ate at the resort. The doctor came and said it was traveler’s sickness. We have traveled all over the world the past 25 years and haven’t gotten sick. It was from the resort. The resort is far from town and shopping. It was 15$ to get to town one way. The best thing about the resort is the beach, there were usually chairs. There is much boat traffic as it’s close to the dive sites.
We had a great time. We booked very spur of the moment... so couldnt get an ocean view or beach access room. But our little garden in front of our balcony was great and very peaceful. The food we had was good, mostly, not having many options is kinda irritating, but we never starved. If you had picky kids I could see where it would be a challenge. The snorkeling right in front of the resort was great! We seen stingrays, and beautiful angel fish, and lots of small colorful fish. Also, the hydrotherapy spa was amazing!!!!! If your just staying a few days, this resort is great. I would say look for something a little bigger and spread out if your staying longer.
