Probably my first trip to CZM involved a stay at Hotel Aguilar. You really have to be in the mood for a clean, way out of date sleeping spot. It is nicely located only by the fact that it has been there since the first tourists landed.

We stayed here for 2 weeks. The staff was great and friendly. Our rooms were cleaned every day. The kids liked the pool. My wife liked feeding the cats here. The showers weren't the best, for temp control and nozzle sprayed at door. Wifi wasn't great in the room. Had to use outside oh well. Good location for restaurants. For... More

Okay, calling it Bates Motel would be a bit harsh - but it is run down and needs a good spruce up. The bedding and beds are from the 80's and haven't been updated or changed since. The rooms are cleaned every day so can't complain there too much. The fans in the rooms only work at full speed so... More

I stayed there 35 years ago when I needed a place for one night when my standard was full. Don't remember much but never went back until this week when my hotel again was full. Not worth 35.00 at all and after taxes almost 50? In the morning the toilet wouldn't flush though during the day was fine? shower in... More

Clean, affordable units right down town close to everything. You can walk to most anything you need. They have a private lot to park a car if you choose to rent one. I rented 2nd level all the way to the end. Was perfect for what I needed.

I have been staying at the Hotel Aguilar for 30 years. It is a family owned, run business that typically takes all the golden eggs out from under the goose as they can but I love it. It is clean and inexpensive (about $45/night), quiet even though it is 1/2 block from the waterfront and within walking distance of many... More

We were approached on the streets by Tomas about renting a vehicle. We said we wanted a small car, he said they were "out" after calling back to his "manger" and only had expensive Jeep. We started to walk off and he said hold on, called again and miraculously they still had one (should have been our first warning). HE... More

I stayed for six nights at the Hotel Aguilar over the New Year 2013-2014. It is more Motel than Hotel. After reading the other reviews, I had concerns about staying there and checked the room as soon as I arrived. There were no bed bugs and the bedding and towels smelled clean although they were threadbare. The towels were changed... More

PROS: close to centro, working AC, towels and soap provided CONS: sneaky receptionist and unchanged sheets My sister and I checked into the hotel on Thursday, March 1st. On Friday morning, we checked out, but after a long day decided to go back to the hotel for a second night. They gave us a room... which coincidentally was the room... More
