Where to start? It’s difficult as we’ve had such a terrific experience here. One of the best we’ve EVER had, in fact.

My wife, several friends and I had a two week stay at Casa Del Mar and we were constantly impressed with the staff and the facilities.

When we arrived in Cozumel from the US, we had only recently learned that we would be required to test negative for Covid-19 before we could return. This caused some stress as we would have to search out a clinic to have the test done before departure. When we arrived at Casa Del Mar they notified us that they had made arrangements to have our testing done on-site so we wouldn’t have to worry about finding a test site, and so we could relax. That’s HUGE!

Every staff member always has a warm greeting and a smile (even behind their masks), morning, noon or night. They are constantly in motion, but are always willing to offer assistance in order to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. And you can tell they all take pride in their work. It shows! In every corner and every encounter you have with them.

Jose (at the front desk) helped us set up transportation, tours and even our shuttle to the airport. He really did everything in his power to give the best experience possible.

The food in the restaurant is always delicious with attentive and kind service. The housekeepers do a terrific job and keeping the rooms in good nick. Even the maintenance/yard staff are constantly busy keeping the beautiful grounds maintained.

If you come to Cozumel, and you want to stay in a well maintained, highly attentive accommodation with people who give their all to make you comfortable, stay at Casa Del Mar Cozumel. I know it’s the only place we will.

Jose, Alfonso, Javier, Ananias, Juan, Raul, Alfredo, Vianca, Sylvio, Luis, all the Staff at Nachi Cocum and Casa Del Mar - we tip our hats to you! Thank you for your fantastic service!!

When we got to the hotel ot took some time to get the clerks undivided attention to check in but he was nice enough and got it done. We paid for the American plan so that we didn’t have to carry money every time we wanted food or drink. The convenience of eating and drinking whatever was nice. And although not many choices in the restaurant our food was decent. Drinks flowed freely lol. The rooms aren’t big and they are typical three star but were clean and the bed had a foam cover so it was at least not hard . Proximity to the pool, restaurant and beach palapas was close. The internet, even in the room, would cut out if you put your device down for even a minute .
We came for the diving. The people there were great and we did some boat dives to decent reefs. Saw some cool sea life. And did shore dives right off the pier which proved to be quite good in that there was a lot of different animals to watch. LOTS of cruise ship snorkelers there. Took quite a long time going quite slowly to the boat dive areas, but how bad can it be, we were boating on the Caribbean 😊. Many of the guests knew each other and have returned many times . Maybe next time I would get one of the casitas instead of a regular room .

We booked at Casa Del Mar to extend from a 1 week vacation at a VRBO Property to a waterfront property. Casa Del Mar was a hidden gem we'd not investigated on past trips. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily and every effort to assist was made including adding a mini fridge in our room.

The pool and hot tub were well maintained. The bar service was great and so was the food at the restaurant. We aren't divers but the folks we chatted with said it's a super spot for divers. They have cabanas for families along with individual rooms. The bridge that runs over the main street next to the hotel leads you directly to a private sunning spot near the water. Divers and swimmers can access the water just over the bridge. Nearby you will find the best Dos A Ritas and food at Ernesto's.

During our stay they sold us a package, everything even and in the end they changed the menus for regular food type and they only gave us water and soft drinks, the room I paid was triple and I finished them in a double and from the bathroom door that did not close or the keys the bathroom that did not close and the water dripped all the time and in addition to what the contacts did not work. When it was claimed at the hotel we were simply ignored so much in the restaurant that the only thing the waiters knew about going is that it is not included. And his rude way of responding to terrible food. I don't understand Poot that they sell something all over even and it's not true. terrible service

When we arrived they weren’t very welcoming. We have experienced way friendlier staff at other resorts in Cozumel. The front desk girl just handed us a key & didn’t go over anything or let us know what was available. Our room was old but clean & did not have a king bed like we booked. We knew it wasn’t high end when we booked it and didn’t think it would matter because we didn’t plan on staying in the room other than to sleep but the weather had us in our room a little more than planned. There was no hot water, no safe in the room when it was listed that it did, no place to sit other than the bed. There wasn’t even any Kleenex provided and had to use toilet paper that had a strong scent to it. There is no place to dry clothes well and they stay wet the whole time. The hooks in the shower area were covered in mold. Our maid only gave us bottled water the day we arrived and never left any water bottles again. The window leaked from rain and there was water all over the floor. They wiped it up and just placed folded towels on the floor for the rest of the stay. The outside of the building, landscaping, area by the water, pool and hot tub were nice. Food at the restaurant was average and nothing to brag about. They did cook us our mahi mahi from our fishing trip and that was excellent. If you want to snorkel in a big area you need to go to Tikila next door or walk down to Sunsets and snorkel back to Tikila. It’s a great resort for divers. I don’t think I would return to this resort unless I was a diver.

Came here with a scuba group and we had a great time. We got the all-inclusive package that included meals + drinks and dives with Cozumel Marine World across the foot bridge (all very convenient, by the way, if you plan to dive daily).

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Showers can be hot, which I was happy with. Food and service are good. My room had air conditioning and a balcony, great for drying scuba gear. The dive shop was excellent and they treated us very well.

The hotel is a bit of a ways from centro, but I didn’t mind. Cab rides aren’t expensive and I walked sometimes.

Only gripe I had was the internet access. It dropped out often — at least, when my phone/computer wasn’t on — and I had to re-enter the username and password every time I wanted to reconnect.

But based on my overall experience here, I’ll come back!

What it isn't. No hot water for the first day, maintenance tried to tell me a valve needed to be opened. We had hot water the rest of the time but it would vary from warm to very hot. No refrigerator in room. No safe in room, only at front desk. It rained almost every day and the window leaked all over the floors. They just brought towels and put them on the floor to soak up the water. Toilet doesn't really ever flush, just swirls the yellow around, heaven forbid you put a log in it. As to the beach, all 15 feet of it was covered in seaweed and rough, no sand just rocks and concrete steps. The restaurant is good but expensive, they charge you $1.50 for every 8oz cup of tea you drink, just saying. Room has no dresser to put clothes. You can hear all all your neighbors coming in from being party animals, so don't think you will sleep too much. Shower and bathroom were lacking in about every way.
What it is
Inexpensive. Exterior is kept up much nicer than the interior. Good for scuba diving, which we didn't do. Pool and hot tub were nice but smelled bad like chlorine. Staff are nice but not overly friendly. They did not give us any kind of welcome note or pouch that told you everything you need to know, it is trial and error. Rooms were clean, even though they were old. Beds are ok, not great not horrible. Good snorkeling if you walk down the street to Tikilas and go in there, only about 150 yard walk.

We would not stay here again unless we were scuba diving close by. Not really set up for families.

We’ve stayed at this hotel many times and as always, we enjoy every moment of our stays.
Every employee is super kind and helpful and we love the hospitality from everyone. The restaurant always has great home cooked food and the pool is always well maintained. Front desk and housekeeping are always prompt and attentive and we are happy to have ice coolers on every floor.
We will be back soon!

We were looking forward to our stay at this hotel but unfortunately our plans changed. The website and reservation confirmation clearly stated their 72 hour cancellation policy which we followed. I called to cancel 6 days before the reservation and they said it must be done by email. I emailed the same day and did not receive a response. I emailed two more times and received no response so I called again and the employee promised to send the refund which we never received. We hoped to stay at this hotel on our next trip to Cozumel but we'll never stay there!

Positive comment: The Staffs are very friendly and the room is clean.

The downside is when we check in last week, there were empty dishes on our patio and no one took those dishes for several days so we decided to put it outside the door. Breakfast is not super good but it's alright. You can hear other people talking from the other room or even taking a shower hahahaha. If you are on a budget, Casa del Mar is an option for you and you get what you pay. It is not a bad resort to stay. A great tip when you travel to Cozumel or if you stay in Casa Del Mar is to bring your mosquito repellent - it's a must!

There is beach access directly across the street. The resort also has access to the beach club Nachi Cocom, which is a few miles south of town and is truly a beach club with loungers, food and drink, etc...
