I can't say enough about the staff and the hotel itself. During hurricane Delta they were well prepared. Making sure the guests were well taken care of and safe. Never did I feel unsafe or uninformed. Kudos to them. The hotel itself was comfortable, food very good and always plenty. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Beaches were clean. Until the hurricane arrived. Afterwards they hustled to clean up and allow us access. Great job!

Booked my room for 2 adults and 2 kids via IHG directly. when I had to change my dates for the flights my reservation all of a sudden showed 2 adults and 1 child. I called IHG to correct. The person on the phone said they fixed it. I noticed in the system it wasn't changed and wanted to make sure it was correct as I read bad reviews for this hotel about extra charges. I called IHG again and was told that only 3 people can fit in the 2 double bed pool view room I booked--which shows it accommodates 4 people online. She called the hotel and said I needed to send the original confirmation that showed 2 adults and 2 kids. I did that and didn't hear back so I called the hotel directly. I was told that because my kids were over 12 that there would be an extra charge of approx. 50% of the room rate per night. I explained the situation and said no where on the site or when I booked with IHG did I ever see/hear this! The manager, Christian, basically was silent. He finally said sorry maam I can't waive the extra fee. I WILL NEVER EVER STAY AT AN IHG PROPERTY AGAIN! I LOST MONEY WITH MY AIRFARE BECAUSE OFTHIS TERRIBLE, UNETHICAL, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE COMPANY THAT DOES NOT HONOR WHAT THEY TELL YOU ON CALLS AND ONLINE!!!! I read many others talking about scams with charging extra fees ---boy, they were right! I am just glad I learned this before I was there stuck with whatever they wanted to dish out! This hotel company can't compare to HYATT which I have always been treated well as a customer! ADIOS EL PRESIDENTE you lost a customer for life who had their honeymoon there.

We travel 4-6 times per year. This 50th birthday trip to the Presidente was off-the-charts amazing. Hotel felt empty and staff went above and beyond. Private "barefoot" dinner service for a 50th birthday was the best meal we've had in our lives. Evey meal, snack, and nibble was memorable. The Mojitos - off the charts - and were handed to us on the beach or while we were enjoying the infinity pool. Ah - the spa. Couples massage - they added roses and champagnne. Hotel grounds impeccably clean and staff so happy to have guests back. They were genuinely concerned that everything for our trip was perfect. Oceanfront room spectacular - two showers - one inside one outside - and unobsstructed ocean views. About 12 steps to excellent snorkeling. We also used on-site ScubaDu for a snorkel trip. The two staffers on the boat were helpful, friendly, and wore masks. Snorkeling at the hotel is terrific - but it was fun to go to El Cielo and visit the reef. The hotel concierge, Adriana, went out of her way to ensure my birthday experience (private dinner, nice surprises during our visit) was top notch. My husband worked with her to arrange an airport private car and the special dinner for two. Paola at the concierge desk was also helpful throughout our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer! It is our 3rd trip to the Presidente (got engaged there in 1998!!) and we hope to returnn as soon as we can.

We went here during the pandemic in September 2020. He stayed four days here to relax before going to Plato Carmen for four days for more activities. Upon arrival we were checked for our temperature and provided hand sanitizer. We booked the beachfront room. You basically take 20 steps to the little cove which has crystal clear turquoise water and a fine sandy beach. The water is lukewarm and amazing. There are no big waves and the beach is perfect for kids and adults alike. We snorkeled every day and saw stingrays and many little fish. My six-year-old daughter loved it. The pool next to the cove is also nice and warm. What contributed to the good times there is also that they weren’t too many people due to the pandemic. Breakfast was good. there are two restaurants open during the day that you can order from. Service was good. We did not leave the resort at all for activities or go on any snorkeling trips because we felt like we did not need to because of the amenities at the hotel. We went to town a couple nights to eat seafood. They can call you a taxi which cost about $7 to $10 each way. I booked Diving with a third-party company which will pick you up right from the hotels on pier, very convenient. Overall, if you want to have a great laid-back beach vacation this is the right place for you.

This resort is huge, spacious and seriously well maintained. The only downside is that it's huge and can take awhile to walk around. The room they gave us was brilliant. So clean and colorful with a killer view. The central pool area and restaurant is well designed and with the spring lights and excellent live guitar player in the evenings it felt near perfection. Then you realize the price you paid is pretty low for the quality experience you're getting. The concierge responded quickly to all my emails. Its a really great place and highly recommend it.
