This is the motel6 of all-inclusive resorts. We booked it bc of the water area for kids. And while the water and outdoor maintenance of this property was good, everything else was awful and disgusting. We have kids ages 1,5,8,10 and they gave us adjoining rooms. I thought it would be a 2 room suite. I wouldn’t have minded the adjoining rooms so much if they didnt look like gross, outdated motel rooms. We were in rooms 2212/2213. The bathroom door and shower door was broken in 2212. The shower in 2213 had so much mold in it my baby kept sneezing everytime he was in there, plus the window was broken in there and there wasn’t any privacy if people peeked in. The sink area also had mold. The bathrooms are literally the size of a small closet. The bed cover came off once and the mattress looked sooo disgusting and it was covered in stains 🤢 also the mattresses in this place are rock hard and shake like crazy at the slightest movement. Theres only 2 small pillows on the king sized bed, no headboard, the wall behind bed had bugs. But the thing that bothered me the most was the smell. It smelled like sewage in the room, especially when the AC air came on, it spread the smell all over and made me gag. It was so gross and disturbing. I couldn’t wait to leave this place. It was only for 3 nights and my husband just asked me to make the best of it. I was looking forward to the food, but that was almost as bad as the rooms, especially our first day there. I normally try not to say anything bad about food, but some of this stuff was just gross. We had lunch in that place by the pool and the birds were having a feast right from the buffet trays and the staff did nothing to stop it. The breakfast and dinner buffet place is extremely hot and humid. We missed our dinner reservations bc they could only give us specific times and kids didn’t want to wait to eat that late. The blandest food imaginable. Checkin/checkout took 30-40 minutes and is the most outdated method. They only gave us one bracelet each for the rooms. If you’re going to use a bracelet key, at least give it to all the people staying there. My kids liked the pool. The beach and water are really nice and the sunsets are breathtaking. You need to checkout the sandpaper beach towels and hand them back in 6pm. Usually other AI i’ve stayed at have beach towels for use and return bins all over. The worst resort I’ve ever stayed at - the rooms/food/management need a serious improvement.

Hotel's Favorite
This review is a little late. The beach is amazing, very little to no seaweed issues And you can snorkel right from the beach and rent a catamaran for free from wonderful staff. if you are First Club members, you are in for a treat. This was our 34th trip to Mexican resorts, and second time to this resort and by far this was our best experience. As to alcohol, our favorite bartender was at the first club , Freddy who is pictured with me below, is by far best bartender we ever have had in Mexico. You probably have seen a lot of reviews saying similar stuff, best bartender blah ,blah, blah, But if you are a tequila snob like me, Freddy is the guy. He has an amazing skill set. Also he is Very easy to talk to. If you are a baseball fan and specifically a Red Sox fan you will love him. He mixes the best margaritas and Paloma’s that we ever ever have tasted And give. Great customer service while doing so. If I wanted to start a bar Freddy would be my first choice as bartender. First Club has top shelf, and great staff including bartender Luis when Freddie is not there. Ala carte restaurants were great and all employees are excellent. I apologize for not remembering the name of main guy at towel service. He was excellent. Also got Covid test on site. Easy. I hope this . review is helpful, this is a great resort especially first club and personal. I’m truly sorry Freddy that I didn’t write this sooner you deserved better, but keep being you with your excellent customer service and bartending skills.

Arbey, Jony and Angel with amazing! My daughter and I had a blast doing the different activities with them on the beach and in the pool! Food was okay and everyone found something they liked. We had some issues with the room, but the staff eventually fixed it. The beds are pretty hard. Beach is great, but not good for snorkeling. Pools were a highlight. The workers are GREAT. I didnt have a single one that was an issue the entire time we were there. Do the Asian place that require a reservation, it was a lot of fun.

Been to many places in Mexico, stayed at lots of nice places but Allegro is FABULOUS! Not fancy but a wonderful place to stay with top=notch staff. The beach is breathtakingly beautiful and the sunsets can bring tears to your eyes. So relaxing and so simple which makes for an amazing vacation. Spent 5 days with my husband in January and loved Allegro so much came back in April with my adult children. This visit was better than the first trip. Beach bartenders make great drinks-some days there may be cocktail servers on beach but if not a it's a quick walk to the bar. Have to mention Arby, Johnny, and Angel who kept my crew entertained. Aileen went above and beyond with dinner reservations for our group of 6. Octavio also provided outstanding service. Now, if you want fancy-this is not your place but if you are looking for a beautiful beach, nice clean rooms, cool AC, yummy food and a relaxing vacation-Allegro has you covered!!

Allegro in Cozumel is wonderful! We have been twice in the last few months and have not been disappointed! The staff is kind and helpful. The resort is beautiful and very family friendly! The food in the specialty restaurants was great. The manager, Arturo, is wonderful and attentive. He is good to his staff and it shows! Ernesto in a hard-working waiter that you can’t help but tip:) please remember these people work so hard while we vacation, and have probably not had a vacation of their own in years if ever. Tip generously and leave frustrations in your rear view mirror. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to rest and recharge! We’ll be back’.

We just returned from a wonderful week at the Allegro Cozumel Resort. This was our first time to Cozumel although we have been to Cancun and Playa Del Carmen in the past. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The grounds are manicured and kept to a level of perfection. Daily cleaning and trimming in the morning helps to present a beautiful landscape. The pools are also beautiful but the beach takes the cake. Picturesque, with loungers scattered between palm trees, it makes for a most relaxing and beautiful scenery. Overall we loved the resort. My wife and I along with my sister-in-laws took full advantage of all the amenities and services the resort offered. We wanted to mention Filomena and Renea in the Spa. We had a couples massage and they were both incredible. I told them they had "manos de magico" which they both got a kick out of due to my terrible Spanish. But by far the best overall employee that we had the pleasure of knowing was Floricel. "Flori"was the waiter in the Premier portion of the resort. Not only was he extremely kind and helpful, but made our stay absolutely wonderful. He would bring us cafe con leche to the outdoor tables for breakfast each morning and addressed all our food and drink needs throughout the day. We couldn't be more thankful or appreciative for how hard he worked and what a wonderful job he did, not only for us, but for all the guests he served. Great job Floricel!!!! I would say that all the staff we interacted with were kind and helpful, so overall it made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job of cleaning them every morning and replenishing anything that was used the day before (towels, coffee, drinks from the mini fridge, etc). As others have said, the food is "average", but you are still able to find something very good at each meal. The "made to order" dishes at the buffet are the way to go as they had things such as "street tacos", made to order pasta, Mongolian barbecue and all we delicious. We also enjoyed the Teppanyaki room for dinner one night and the Mexican restaurant another night and both were very good. It would be nice if maybe they had dancing or a disco at night for the adults, but it appears currently the disco is closed. Anyways, Im old and after being in the sun all day, I was usually ready for bed by 9pm. lol We would come back to the Allegro and would come back to Cozumel in a heartbeat as both are beautiful and make for a great vacation. ADVICE: Pay the extra for the Premier rooms. They are close to the beach, have their own breakfast and pool area. Also have their own beach area as well. Servers that are dedicated to that area, who also can serve breakfast and lunch throughout the day. Also, its good to know that if you stay on the top floor the roofs are actually thatched, so you can hear some conversations from the adjoining rooms. (not bad, but if that really bugs you, request a lower level room) If you stay in the Premier rooms, then you are far from the pavilion so even if there is loud entertainment going on, you can barely hear it. Last thing: TIP YOUR SERVERS...dont be cheap or disrespectful...these employees work hard in the hot sun and humidity. They deserve the few extra dollars when they treat you with such superior service. Also don't forget your housekeepers...they do a great job as well.

The whole staff of Allegro Cozumel were incredibly welcoming and friendly! We got great service from Carlos Perez, who on two different evenings made a special desert for my husband and I, and then our entire group of family members (11 of us). He laughed and joked with us the entire time while making our desert, a delicious banana flambé. Carlos and Omar O. both took time to get to know our group and remembered us in different areas of the resort. We will be sure to recommend this resort and hopefully be back soon!

I'm sorry I haven't done this review until now, but it is worth telling everyone about! In February of 2022, We went to Cozumel , Mexico and stayed at the all inclusive resort of Allegro Cozumel. This was the first time we visited since covid and the locals tell us they were completely shut down. The whole island! We were glad to be back! Arturo, who manages the restaurants always remembers us and does a special dinner for my wife's birthday. He is amazing! The food is good, Buffets for breakfast and lunch, 3 different restaurants onsite that you can make a reservation.. but make them early. Our friend Henry took care of us most of the time. Other great service came from Carlos, Ingrid, Luis, Freddie and Antonio, who gets the cabs for you and carries heavy luggage up and down the stairs! Everyone there gives us great service, sorry if I missed a few names. The rooms are nice at Allegro Cozumel. They have what you need and if not, they will try to help in anyway if they can. They are good about making things right! They have some entertainment, dancing, diving, snorkeling, karaoke, movies, exercise groups, pool fun & more. We have been going there now for almost 25 years. We feel safe there. We love it there! And for the price of an all inclusive resort, you can't beat it! Remember to tip.. It's not necessary, but it is how they make their living.. It's worth it! We love you guys. Going back in Oct/Nov 2022

I arrived with my family at the end of April 2022. On this trip, we decided to stay at Allegro (normally we stay at Sunscape/Sabor) because we brought young kids and it looked like this resort might fit us better. The kids did love the kid's pool and we were glad to see many other families with young ones. However, this resort needs to figure out the food situation. First, the buffet is awful. The food is wildly bland. The buffet area is stuffy, and hot, with no view, and no windows. It was miserable every morning and more so at night. That leads to the next situation. You have to make reservations at the restaurants. Which is fine but they only let you make 2 for your whole stay! Meaning you have to eat at the buffet for most of your stay. We enjoyed the Italian and the waiters there were AMAZING! They told us we could come back and we did go 2 more times. The Oriental restaurant is a JOKE! They are awful, mean, and don't care about taking care of you in any way. They have several tables open and won't let more people book other than to sit at the grill. More people could be served if they would sit them at the tables too. We never got to enjoy the Mexican restaurant - so I can't speak about that. The lunch/ snack bar was good. But they don't let you take food to the beach. The waiters at the beach bar and sports bar are AMAZING. Really most staff was fantastic besides the restaurant manager. TIP - go across the street to the taco stand and the restaurant. Way better service and really good food! We LOVE Arbey! He is one of the entertainment staff members and he is so amazing. He made sure to say hi to us every day and hug us goodbye. He knows how to treat others and we welcome him as a great friend. We will not be coming back. We visit Cozumel at least once every other year. We are going back to Sunscape/Sabor for sure.
