In Mexico’s Caribbean there is a tiny island just bursting with life – it is Cozumel and the Allegro Cozumel. Right on the famous Sand Francisco Beach, two worlds of adventure co-exist: The Fun-in-the-sun beach and the amazing undersea Palancar Reef. Whatever you choose to pursue, Allegro Cozumel places it right at your fingertips. Beach Volleyball, tropical bars, restaurants, and nightclubs keep life on land exciting, while the on-site dive shop and big-game sport-fishing charters offer a gateway into the dazzling marine sanctuary of Cozumel’s waters. And when you awake the next morning, after a relaxing night’s sleep in your comfortable guest room, you’ll find there’s even more to explore, because the adventure never stops at Allegro. For the young ones, there is plenty to do from building sand castles alongside the beautiful powdery white sand beach, get physical at the amazing kid’s multiplay covered playground, catch some giggles at the water park, or take advantage of the many activities offered by the Kids clubs.

The all ego was a nice, affordable stop while visiting Cozumel for the day. Beach was good for swimming, service was great at the beach and pools, and the pools were nice. Food was not as good as some hotels, but again for the price, this is comparable to similarly priced hotels. The hotel is a bit dated, but still very nice. Staff were great and accommodating. No complaints, and I would visit again.

I was very impressed by the friendliness and courtesy of the resort staff. Everyone from the maids to the groundskeepers, the wait staff at the restaurants and the desk clerks went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful in any way they could. The resort was very clean with comfortable, firm beds and a mini fridge which was kept stocked with the beverages of our choice. WiFi is available, but not at a comfortable price. Cellular service was excellent, so we didn't miss not having WiFi. Food was pretty much standard buffet fare - lots of fresh fruit and salads, with some Mexican specialty dishes. Unlimited beverages were included. Access to the premium restaurants is limited by the length of your stay: 1 for 2-3 nights, 2 for 4-7, and 3 for 8-10 days. Since we stayed 11 days, we got a chance to sample all 3. In my opinion, the best was the Mexican, then the Asian, and lastly the Italian. These are plated meals, with ample servings. The resort is very family friendly, with a large water playground for children, a relaxation pool for general use, and the activity pool with bar access. The pools were pristine and delightful, with plenty of lounge chairs. The beach area has plenty of chairs, with a nearby shower and restroom facilities. There are multiple activities each day, ranging from arts and crafts to children's activities, evening movies, and dancing and karaoke. All in all, it was a delightful stay in beautiful, relaxing surroundings.

Outside was beautiful, lovely grounds, great beach, nice variety of pools. Food in restaurants was wonderful,( you need reservations). The open eating for your three meals, could use a little variety. Looked like the same thing for each meal. It would have been nice to have different snack foods available round the clock. Some rooms needed some repair, roof leaked, and the walls were paper thin. They were clean and drinks and coffee were in the room, some showers were missing doors. I liked the mirror so 2 could get ready at the same time, and several light options, so one could stay up without lighting the whole room. We booked a few trips threw an office on grounds, but we did not receive all that was talked about, I felt as though were got ripped off for that. I think it was a good value for the money, and we did have a great time.

I visited with my wife and another couple in First Club, October 2019. Overall, it was nice to try it out, but we will likely not go back due to other options that fit our needs/preference better. Resort is small which has some disadvantages. CONS: 1) Loud pool music/activities can be heard everywhere all day long. You cannot escape the noise if you are not into this sort of thing. 2) Only 2 real pools, which are somewhat crowded. There is no chance of a relaxing pool visit, even in the off-season. 3) Very limited buffet food selection at both buffets had us bummed out. 4) Neither of the buffets are air conditioned, and the main one lacks any open breeze which makes it extremely uncomfortable (be ready to be hot and sweaty!). Only 2 of the 3 specialty restaurants had any air conditioning. The open-air Mexican resturant was OK due to the breeze that comes through at night. 5) No options for room service food exist. 6) The "Oriental" restaurant is really just a hibachi where they cook the food in front of you and give you a "show", if you like that sort of thing. We are not a fan of that, so that was a little disappointing. There were a couple individual tables where you could probably order the hibachi cooked food for your private table. In general, the "theming" at all 3 restaurants was very light, unlike larger resorts. 7) First Club only pool is very small. It bigger than a large hot tub, but calling it a "pool" is a slight stretch. If is bigger than the 1st club pool in Nuevo Vallarta however (which was just a hot tub). PROS: 1) Service was good overall. 2) Food quality was good overall. 3) A/C and mustiness smell in our First Club room was slightly better than resort average. We've had better, but we've also had MUCH worse. 4) Very nice/clean beach, although I could see it being crowded in the peak-season. Waves are virtually nonexistent and water is usually very clear. Bottom is mostly sand with some natural grasses. 5) Scuba dive center right next to beach (if you are into this) is convenient/nice. We've heard good things about it, but did not use it. The downside is that you perpetually hear clanging, banging, and filling of scuba air tanks from anywhere on the First Club beach all day. 6) Being a small resort, you don't have to walk far to get anywhere. Can walk clear from the entrance to the beach at the back in about 5 minutes.

The buffet food was serval days old. The on-site restaurants were never available to book. The beds were very hard. The management would not handle things that we had issues with. They are more worried about the locals.
