"I'm all about the kid-stuff: endless entertainment, family-friendly accommodations, child-centric restaurants and a Kids Club that's cool as can be. But I've got that pampered, indulgent side, too, as a visit to my Kin Ha Spa shows - I always find plenty of fun stuff for parents to do while the kids are having fun. I'm like my sister resort, Oasis Palm - but a bit more upscale, with the extra amenities you're looking for. I'm Mexican and proud of it: my dancing, dining and decor reflect the culture of Cancun, with my delicioso Mexican food in the cantina and lots of activities for everyone".

Hotel's Favorite
I travelled with my family (3 kids) and the hotel staff was very friendly. We are vegetarian and the chef Gilmer Canul was very accommodating. The bars, restaurants, and activities were fantastic. The kids club is not just a day care a whole entire experience where the kids want to stay. VERY highly reccomend. Bartolome was very friendly helping us with dinner along with Hever and Ruben.

If you don't care & want a 2.5 to 3 star resort to save $30-$50 bucks, go for it. If your willing to pay a little tad more for a 5-6 star, I recommend. It'll be worth it & an experience of a lifetime to build memories on. A place where there's amazing snorkeling right on off the resort beach, amazing food options, lazy rivers and numerous huge pools, extravagant decorations, etc. Though I appreciate Oasis Palm's efforts, I'm going to be honest & straight forward. This resort is a little lower class, plus really small. A little poorer & older, musty halls. Come on, think about it, you fly all that way to stay at a lower/middle class resort is just not worth the time. Last week I stayed at a couple of different resorts; Barcelo Colonial in Riviera Maya (6 star because beyond extravagant with sister resorts to utilize amenities), the Grand Sirenis (5 star because all the amenities) and the Occidental Xcaret hotel (4-5 star) and this one "Oasis Palm" is a 2.5 to 3 star. Fly all that way? Stay at a nice resort but definitely do your research before you choose. Trip advisor is the best way to learn more about diff resorts. What I liked about Grand Oasis Palm is the drink "Banana Monkey", it's really good. But then some alcohol tasted tainted that I drank and just really low quality like rubbing alcohol or something. I don't know. But I got sick and threw up until the next morning couldn't get up & out of bed anymore. What I dislike about the place was, will I mentioned them already. Once you go outside to the back where the beach is, you won't be amazed. The pool are small and crammed together, full of small children. Just FYI, that's my honest review. Sorry if I was harsh, no hard feelings. Just want to be honest.

Dear Sara, Thank you very much for taking your valuable time to provide your experience during your recent stay at our hotel. We definitely appreciate your honesty, and we want to let you know that our main objective is to make our guests feel at home in the Mexican paradise. Please accept our sincerest apologies for not meeting your expectations in the way you mentioned. Rest assured that we will take your observations into account, with the aim of constantly improving and continuing to provide unique and unforgettable experiences to our guests. On the other hand, it is important to remark that, as a family resort, it is usual to have many children around our facilities and enjoying the pool areas. Also we are pleased to read that you have enjoyed our bars and their unique drinks, which are always to the delight of our guests. Thank you for choosing us as a destination for your Cancun vacation, we wish you success on your future trips. Best regards, Adelaida Arzola

To start with some positives: - The hotel has a good beach and pool, with excellent facilities for families, especially those with younger children. - Generally, the staff are polite and friendly, most notably in the restaurant’s / bars. - If you want to go and visit the beautiful Isle Mujeres it’s in a great position as the ferry and a number of other companies which run boat trips are right next to the hotel. -If a decent cup of coffee is important to you this place is great. The coffee shop in the lobby serves a great selection of coffee's and really saved this place for me to be honest. Sadly, our overall experience was incredibly poor. Disabled access: - My mother in law uses an electronic wheelchair. On arrival, we noticed that the ramp in reception which leads down to all the hotel facilities is incredibly steep. Her wheelchair would tip over backwards when going down this, even with one of us holding onto the back. - When asking the reception staff, they just informed us this was the only access. We had just got off a 11 hour flight so really wanted to just have a drink and relax, but were instead faced with having to try to work out ourselves how we could get down to the bar. Reception staff had no interest in helping. - The manager eventually came to tell us that there was in fact a lift we could use (the staff lift). We were finally then shown where this was and were able to go and get some food / drinks. - We were told this was originally the disabled access (before the ramp) and that we could use this throughout our stay. However, during the time multiple members of staff told my mother in law she couldn’t use it, and just generally made her feel rubbish. The disabled access sign was also removed during our stay…. - The outside doors in the sports bar were frequently shut due to high winds. When we asked for them to be opened briefly so she could go to get some dinner, we were told no. When we complained about this we were told by one of the concierges that ‘the hotel is not for disabled people’. - This is interesting because the hotel is happy enough to take my mother in laws money while treating her like a second-class citizen. -To note if this helps anyone: There are steps everywhere, so even once down the ramp it's not accessible and you would need to get out of the chair to walk up these steps into restaurants etc. Food: - The food not up to standard for a hotel of this rating, especially in the buffet restaurants. When comparing to hotels of the same price range / rating it just doesn’t measure up. - Breakfast; bacon and sausages inedible. - Last night’s buffet mains served at breakfast. - Daft exclusivity around the restaurants. You are required to queue up and book at 16.00 every day. The White Box and Careyes only do limited sittings. But it’s an all-inclusive hotel, where everybody should have access to the different options? - The White Box: o My other half and I left here starving. After going to the gym and not having lunch, I was really looking forward to a nice dinner. But the portions are tiny. ‘Tapas’ is an excuse to serve tiny portions. A bag of crisps as an accompaniment to a meal, between two, is not what I would call ‘gastro’. - Careyes: o Excellent food and service. My parents in law tried to eat here as much as possible as it was the only decent restaurant. o They have tried to make it ‘exclusive’ meaning its literally always empty. The door is locked, and you have to knock to get in which is not exactly welcoming; the staff seem to have been told to maintain an air of exclusivity. Very odd and a shame because this really is an impressive restaurant and the hotel should showcase it. Hotel atmosphere: - There was building work going on around the pool in the adults only / spa area. This was noisy and disruptive. I didn’t envisage having to listen to building work while trying to relax by the pool. Rooms: - Nowhere near enough room to hang or store clothes. I feel like not many people stay for long in this hotel, as we ended up basically living out of our suitcases. - We paid extra for a sea view room, which had no balcony. During a storm the windows were not waterproof meaning we came back to our room to find the whole floor flooded. Not acceptable. We get far worse weather in the UK and our windows don't flood?! - We raised this at the time, but the staff didn’t seem to care and gave the impression this happens all the time. There answer was the put a towel in the hole under the window. Perhaps take some of the money you are taking off people for a sea view and use it to fix the windows?!

We were a group of 24 and we had a wonderful time. Food was good with nice variety. Staff was fantastic. The resort was clean and very well-kept considering it's age. The pools and beach area were beautiful. The only drawback was that we were told it was accessible, but it was not. They have Ramos, but these are not for wheelchairs as they are steep and wavy.
