Great stay, friendly service, will definitely recommend. Heated pools, upscale and great entertainment. Close to downtown(walking distance). When you stay ask for Omar Carera! VIP service is exceptional!
This resort was very clean and the staff were phenomenal. The ones we remember the most were Laura, Alejandro, and Ricardo at the lobby bar - very personable and always asked to make sure everything was going well. The hotel is not brand new so we did have some difficulty with our room, when presented to the front desk they offered to relocate us and allowed us to check the new room before accepting. When booking we were enticed by a sushi/ceviche bar and a 24hr sports bar but unfortunately they weren't in service during our stay (the sports bar was going through a major renno). Overall we enjoyed the trip quiet a bit, unlike some of the other resorts we've stayed at in the past, the pools and beach were very close to the hotel with little walking... we're not old but when it comes to simply having convenience of location, this one hit the mark.…
Great beach and pools to relax in. Service at all the bars was excellent every time. Food was good and had a lot of options. If you are looking for the occasional activity or entertainment - Karina was great at getting you there and pumped up for it. Tell Them Jeff sent you.
The check in process was good and bad. We were provided A welcome drink and cool washcloth to cool down. The young lady at the desk was friendly but did not give information on upgrade until my friend asked. Also we traveled with someone and asked if we could be near each other again no accommodation. We were initially placed in room #234 with no a/c. The front desk sent a Maintenace person whom told them the unit was working and needed adjustment. The room never cooled and Ruben was so kind to change out room to 312 with balcony very helpful. The room itself was great but by the elevator. There were people yelling down the hall early in the morning(take earplugs). But the view from the room was amazing. Waitress Janet (on the beach) great. Arianna (timeshare lady) gave lots of free goodies just for our attendance. (Check her out if you have time). We did the romantic dinner (Olio restaurant) and everything was perfect. Spa with Wendy and the others was amazing. There was a hydro and massage combo package which was awesome. Marianne waitress on the preferred side of the beach was amazing as well. We tipped and were treated great. Now the cons: -There was lots of seaweed but the hotel staff did their best to clean it. -The hotel is dated but not horrible and it’s not what is expected for the dreams chain. -Shower door did not secure. -Toilet keep running had jiggle the handle. -Cabanas could not be used by guest unless you paid for the rental for the day. -No chairs by the pool. The same people reserved them everyday. (Hint get up early and do the same). Overall no regrets with a little upgrading this place will be amazing.…
Could use a good paint job in shared areas and room. Gauchos Grill steakhouse - ordered a rare steak, came well done, cheap cut of meat (very chewy) - inedible. Buffet was standard. The food quality offering at Barefoot Grill was excellent (better than Gauchos). Olio is really in need of a makeover with paint peeling on the walls, on the LOVE sign, and around the windows - but their food (especially for lunch) was the best at the resort. Towels were hard to find at off hours (after 5-6 pm). Bar lines were ok during the day but in the evening only the lobby bar was open and the lines were VERY long. The preferred suite on the 8th floor had great appetizers and drinks. Preferred check in was inconsistent for our group - some people got nothing (not even check in on the preferred floor), others received the coupon package (most did not), no one was offered the welcome glass of champagne. Spa was solid (facial and hydrotherapy services), for a massage go to the outside service which is set up next to the preferred beach section for a 1/4 of the price as the massages in the spa. I would not visit this resort again.…
We had a fabulous time at Dream Sands. We upgraded to the PC and upon check in we were greeted by the amazing Omar who did a wonderful job explaining the Resort and all the amenities. All the restaurants were excellent and we were treated like royalty from Alberto, Orlando and Pablo at Olios and on the beach Edit served us with amazing drinks along with Antonio with a cart who made the best mojitos! There was entertainment each night and rooms were nice and clean. Even the maid service was amazing. We will be back!
The service was excellent during our entire stay. The hotel was nice and clean and our room was spacious. Staff was always friendly and courteous. Our group coordinator Lorena was awesome! She went above and beyond to help us plan our activities/events and to accommodate all our needs. The food at World Cafe restaurant was not so great, except for breakfast, but the food at Olio's was the best!
The staff were fun, friendly and eager to make sure we were having fun. Drink and food service was fast and friendly. There were several restaurants and bars. Lots of choices. The beach, pool, and rooms were clean. The entertainment was great too.
We were not pleased. Resort showing wear and tear. No air conditioning on the first floor where you would eat meals. Slow check in process. Stinky seaweed on the beach. Pushy time share people in the lobby always lurking.
Booked this hotel for 3 nights for 15 year anniversary. Staff was really nice for the most part. We arrived around 11am as our flight was early in the morning. We spoke with the front desk and asked that they please accommodate us with a king bed. The lady at the front desk advised that she would see what she could do and proceeded to try to sell us an “upgrade” for an extra $50 a night that would guarantee a king size bed . We declined and waited for our room . We checked with her again a few hours later to see if our room was ready and if she was able to accommodate the king room . She informed us that the room was not ready and advised that they only had double bed rooms but could still “upgrade” us if we chose to pay for the “upgrade”. We proceeded to call Cheap Caribbean who we booked this vacation through. They called the front desk and were advised the same. I went back to the front desk and spoke with a different attendant that immediately found an available room with a king bed. We proceeded to try to enjoy our vacation . Room was nice. Very clean. The view was very nice. All was well until it started to rain . We were pretty much stuck in the lobby the whole day due to rain. The beach area was full of seaweed to the point that you couldn’t even walk on the beach . At some point I walked up to my room to get something and slipped and sprained me ankle and knee. Turns out water was filtrating through the walls and the floors were wet everywhere. I proceeded to go to the front desk and they provided me with an ice pack . They offered me to see a doctor which I would have had to pay out of pocket to see. The injuries pretty much ruined the rest of my stay as I was in pain . The hotel didn’t even bother to follow up on my condition or anything. Pretty bad customer service on management part if you ask me. Aside from that, the food was ok. The liquor seems like it’s watered down . I would not return to this hotel.…
