perfect size; not too small or too large of a resort to navigate. minor negatives: not all rooms have a balcony which is strange & must pay to upgrade, one timesharing woman was nasty & one concierge woman was abrupt & acted like I was bothering her. other than these 2 people the entire staff was polite, hardworking & aiming to allow guests to have a wonderful experience ! food, especially a la' carte dinners were amazing. great location & clean rooms. the resort was beyond our expectations. the following staff deserve recognition for their awesome service: Maria Gonzales Angulo (front desk), Abraham Santiago (Gaucho Restaurant), Rafael (server), Jorge Baeza (Waves & Sands), Capitan Eduardo, Victor Alfonso & Gerardo (Olio), Alejandro (Himitsu), Elmer & Armando Vega (Privilege Club bartenders/attendants) all these people & any others we came in contact with (don't know all their names) were lovely people who performed their job efficiently with a smile ! Thank You ~ Lynda y Estevan from Cleveland, Ohio

Hotel's Favorite
We traveled with another couple and had a fabulous week here despite the rain. The resort is gorgeous as well as the beach and ocean. No seaweed, crystal clear water with powdery sand! The staff was excellent and a few really stood out during the trip. Armando in the Preferred lounge is all about customer service. In addition to being the best bartender he makes sure everything is perfect. It was so fun to end our night with him and tell him about our day! Janet and Maria are the best beach bar waitresses, they were so fast we were never without a drink! Carlos in activities was amazing! My husband won poker twice, please buy Carlos some new cards and get some better prizes!! He does a great job getting even us older folks involved! Playing water volleyball with the young kids was so fun! Eduardo the manager at Waves and Sands was fantastic, try to visit on the night they serve the French menu, very eclectic and delicious! Also Eduardo the waiter at Portofino was a true professional. He was so proper and polite and skilled on wines,he is an excellent waiter who will assure you a pleasant dining experience. I enjoy not having to make reservations at restaurants. We would go around 6-6:30 and never had to wait to eat. I am not a fan of buffets and I have to say the buffet here was excellent. A huge selection and very tasty for breakfast. The Japanese was my favorite, our server Jaimie was excellent. Really good sushi and spring rolls. The spa was nice, not as elaborate as some, but a nice station of heat and water followed by massage. As I said it was rainy and they were constantly mopping water, etc. They take very good care of the grounds and rooms. Our first night our AC unit leaked overnight a piece of drywall came down! I thought oh great we are going to have to change rooms, I told the front desk, we went off to breakfast and shopping, in 3 hours we were back the AC was working great and the drywall was patched, fixed and painted! I was so impressed I could not get that service in the states. It is also a nice property if you have trouble walking or you are in a wheelchair, nice fast elevators and sturdy pavement. Overall we all enjoyed our trip, I know I am forgetting to mention people, oh Eduardo who set up our Bali Beds on the beach! The food is good, there is such a huge selection every restaurant has gluten free, vegan options, etc. Be sure to tip! These people work so hard and deserve to be compensated for a job well done.

I have been in Cancun about 10 times and the service is usually good at any hotel that I have stay but here at Dreams sands was exceptional, specially Omar,(server) Yaneli (hosttes) and Teodoro (manager) at El Patio Restaurant. Also Elmer at the club on the eight floor was very attentive and everyone else were super, now the food is not great but we enjoy almost every bite and the Show "Tenores de Cancun" was a treat for my Mom. "Great show" very professional singers. We will be back and Cheers from Houston and the Hidalgo family.

Charlie entertained and educated our foursome this am with Spanish class. He was smart, charming and highly informative. Charlie then went on to perform at Zumba! Charlie is a true asset and obviously loves his job.

Came here for a week away with a friend and had a wonderful time. Hotel is super clean and beds are very comfortable. We had a partial ocean view and it was beautiful. I don't think there is a bad view from any room in the hotel as they all look onto the ocean. A la carte meals were fabulous and I loved that you could select a four course meal. Himitsu (Asian) and Olio (Mediterranean) were our favorites and we went a couple times so we could try out the rest of the menu. Not disappointed. Francisco was outstanding at Himitsu. We went on a Thursday so we could sit on the patio and watch the Mexican Fiesta while we ate! Perfecto! The entertainment was some of the best I've seen on resorts from the Break Dancing, The Tenors, Pirates of the Caribbean, to the Mexican Fiesta at night. During the day, Carlos (Charlie), Tania, Barouch, Marco, Luis, Mikka were fantastic leading us into water aerobics, salsa dance lessons, zumba, bingo and a whole array of day entertainments. Staff was top notch and always ready to help out and super friendly. This is the first resort I've been to where I did not have to get up at 6 to get a chair. Most days, we were not down there until 9 and still had lots of chairs to choose from. That is a definite plus in my books. There were also lots of choice in location. You could sit around the pool and take in the entertainment or away from the action where it was quite. Lots of beach front choice as well. Thanks for a wonderful week.
