our third visit to the seadust was the best one yet. it seemed to be close to capacity so it was the busiest we’d seen it, but the staff are so great. our room was always clean and comfortable. the beach had a bit more seaweed than in years past, but it was still nice to play in the sand with our girls. the restaurants have gone away from reservations which is very convenient. and the food!!! every restaurant was delicious and the staff were so nice. our favorites were jorge at el maguey (by far our favorite restaurant) luis at the buffet, and fernando at the beach bar. gloria and alex with the entertainment staff made sure we had so much fun. they’ve also expanded the baby club and kids club hours and activities, which our kids loved! they spent a couple of hours a day there and veridiana styled their hair so beautifully! we should even thank the security staff that helped us look for some lost headphones before we left, much appreciated. we’re planning on going back again next summer!…
The customer service in this resort is what puts it at 5 stars. Sure, the rooms could use a few updates but they are clean and meet the basic needs of families. The resort is everything you see on their website and more. The “more” part is the service provided by Paolo, Rusel, and Gabriel of guest services; by Yadira and Angelica who are servers at Club Caribe; and all the others we have met at the many restaurants we frequented during our 5 night stay.
I traveled to Seadust as part of a pretty large group -- ages 75, two in their 40s, one teenager, two elementary-age kids and one infant. We all had a pretty decent time, with some caveats. We had two family suites overlooking the vacant lot between Seadust and the Royal Resort. Our view was fabulous and on the 5th floor it was reasonably quiet. There was a bright light on the balcony that couldn't be flipped off that was sometimes difficult to block for sleeping, but it was a minor annoyance. These rooms are shower-only, which is probably not the ideal configuration. Not only that, but they never renewed the shampoo, but always the bubble bath! Why? Generally, Seadust is on the upswing. Things are being repaired and refurbished. Everything's in pretty good condition, which they appear to be working on. Lines are not long, and there are a lot of activities. The good: The adults-only pool rocks. I hear the shows were good -- we didn't go, but our kids did in the company of babysitters. The babysitters are from the kids club and they're wonderful. We had a theft (off-property) and Giselle in Guest Services was a good combination of sympathetic and knowledgeable. I dropped $100 in the lobby and it was returned to me! Awesome! Service generally was good -- servers at the beach and adults-only area being the best. Some restaurants were enjoyable. Things were generally buzzy, but not crowded -- thanks to the towel card system, people couldn't hog seats at the pool and beach, and that made it accessible for everyone else. The lounge singer who entertained in the evenings was fun. The less good; Woo boy, the beach is steep, with red flags every day of our trip and a ridiculous amount of seaweed roughly half the time. I forbade my children from swimming in it a lot of the time, though Mexico red flag is not, say, NJ red flag. The Kids Club staff are awesome, but it would benefit from a little more differentiation in programming so that older kids will actually participate. As it was, it was hard to convince my kids most of the time to stay there long. The food is...well, not good. It's not terrible -- there were some good items nearly everywhere, but most of it comes from the same kitchen and is poorly cooked. Oddly enough, the seafood/mediterranean buffet with the terribly dated decor has the best food. The burger restaurant is terrible -- though it has hilariously translated English-language descriptions (cheese stumps!) Everything else is somewhere in between. We went out one day and came back to find that somehow the cleaning staff skipped us, and they knock off around 5, so we simply didn't get our room cleaned that day. Room service was relatively good in the morning, but one evening we called and no one ever answered. ADA accessibility is poor -- there are ramps to most places, but they're too steep/slippery for any wheelchair user to really use. There are two XBOX dens -- they were cool, but a bit laggy. The internet was completely out 1.5 days of the 7 that we were there, but there's also no business center, so this isn't a great place to work from. Signage could be better -- it took a while to figure out how some things worked because the schedule and rules were not super clear. Overall, this is a good vacation option for people who aren't terribly fussy. It has a kind of shaggy dog charm.…
The hostesses on the beach Marilu and Fabiola are great, very friendly and attentive. Tip them well! The pool area is clean, well maintained and the food service for lunch can have long lines, but the service is quick and the food is good.
If I could describe this resort, I would describe it as a Monet painting. It looks good far away but the closer you look, the worse it gets. The Good: The view from our room was the best I've had in Cancun as I've visited many times and I wanted to bring my family here for the first time. We booked two rooms for 5 days and 4 nights. It was my husband and I, 2 kids ages 6 and 4 and my mom. The drinks were great but the quality of alcohol was not. I literally had a headache every single day. If you like, wine the Merlot was great. The staff was good as long as you keep tipping them. They did leave us a bottle of champagne in the bucket without ice or ice bag. The nightly shows were fantastic and the panoramic video was nice touch. The best part of the trip was leaving the resort to go to Isla Mujeres where there was no seaweed and calm and clear water. Overall. the kids enjoyed it. The french fries were the best! The Bad: The food was not good at all. The coffee and mimosas were horrible, the soft drinks were flat and the buffet kept running out of things. The soft drinks were being poured from 2 liters. The omelets were freshly made but the fixings were straight out of the can. I saw the food being recycled day after day and my stomach showed it after literally having the bubble guts every night. The eating utensils were rinsed at best and not washed. The best food was the pool side grill, Japanese restaurant (we ate there twice) and Manhattan. Our room was cleaned every day, however our towels were not replenished and we had to call and get more every day. Our room had 1 electrical outlet in the room and 1 in the bathroom. The room had 2 USB ports that didn't work. Good luck with charging your phone, blow-drying your hair, or working from your laptop. Also, our tv in both rooms stopped working on the last 2 days of our trip. Bring your firestick, roku, etc. The Ugly: When we first arrived and the the staff was putting on our wristbands, the lady cut my daughter with the scissors and she was bleeding and crying. They tried to compensate her with a lollipop while taking forever to find a band-aid. Really??? What a great first impression? Not. No manager, nothing. The resort has a ton of potential to be a 5 star but it needs a complete top to bottom cleaning and renovation. There was mold and mildew throughout especially in the shower, the kids water park and adult pools. The pools also had tiles falling off. My kids said the resort was dirty and kept asking what the smell of mildew was. Our shower was barely working and didn't drain. We called, went to the front desk twice and just gave up because no one even tried to come and resolve the issue. They always said, maintenance was on the way and no one ever showed up. Tips: Don't set your expectations high and make the best of a mediocre situation.…
We just got back from a seven day vacation at seadust. We had an amazing time. We travelled with a five year old and eight year old. They had a fantastic time at the water park. They also really liked the rock wall. The zip line is under construction which was disappointing. The staff really make this place amazing. Our kids did not want to stay at the kids club but did do some of the activities. The staff remembered the kids names and always said hello to them. A few of the great staff were victor, kenia, Alexa and Denise. The entertainment staff were also great! Carlos and Enrique were amazing at the rock climbing wall. Monica and Gloria were always so nice. We loved bingo with Enrique. The kids also loved feeding the iguanas on the beach. We found the food quite good but we are also pretty easy going. We didn’t go to the Japanese or the Mediterranean restaurants because my son has a fish allergy so we didn’t bother. They were very careful with his allergy at the other restaurants. We loved the lasagna at the Italian restaurant and the fish tacos at the Mexican restaurant. Alfred was such a great server at the Mexican. Brought us new drinks to try, brought sombreros for us to put on as he took pictures for us. We tried the Manhattan which had “American” food. It would have been good but all of our food was cold. We also had some issues at the steak house. Apparently they had dropped our tray of food in the back but they only told us once we asked if it would take much longer since we wanted to go to the show. They had to remake all of the food which I think they rushed because all of our food was undercooked, our steaks not done as we asked. The dessert was quite good though. Our only complaint about the hotel really was the noise at night. We were on the second floor closest to the lobby. In the evenings they had a lounge singer who was good but sang right below our room so it was insanely loud. We had a noise machine and even still we could sing along in our room. It made getting the kids to sleep difficult music would go on until 2 in the morning some days. A noise machine was definitely helpful or when you are checking in ask for a room closer to the buffet side and higher up. Overall it was a great experience.…
We are couple visiting from Boston, Mass. and our stay at Seadust was fantastic. Our room had a phenomenal view of the ocean. The infinity pool is nice and has a great view of the beach where you can go parasailing!!! The adults only pool has a great view of the city and the bartender Julio was amazing and made the best “Paloma” drink. Luis made me a tasty “Fruit paleta”. Cesar helped us book a fun excursions to jungle kingdom (atvs, zip lining, and jumped into a xenote). Diego from AquaWorld helped me book a fun parasailing, jungle tour ride and snorkeling activity. The food was amazing my favorite restaurants were lighthouse and El Maguey. The service was outstanding. We also enjoyed the shows they hosted every night .. our favorites were the neon human show and the tradicional Mexican dance show. Lastly we visited downtown clubs and it was a fun bus ride from the hotel. we will definitely visit again. Fun place for couples and families.…
Department Bell boys oscar monterroso This is our 3rd time here at sea dust! And also first with our two babies. I relied on the hotel sense we booked all inclusive for the milk for my babies. Most of the employees here seemed stingy with the milk and made it super difficult for me to get a hold on milk. My husband an I are beyond thankful for Oscar and his service. Very polite and kind. Super helpful. This hotel needs more people like him. Lately all employees seemed rude .
Amazing service, Everyone really friendly rooms always clean, my kid’s had so much fun, worth every penny all the restaurant’s are amazing and what do i say about the margaritas delicious, definitely coming back
I travel a great deal and this hotel ranks in my top picks for a large all-inclusive beach resort. The hotel is beautiful and in superb condition. The food is overall very good with a huge selection of different dining and food options. We stayed here without kids and used the adult pool virtually the entire time. It was beautiful, and tranquil, with plenty of space and beds/lounges with nice upbeat music. The families all seemed to be having a great time and the main pool is large with many activities available. Book this place - you will enjoy it!
