We stayed at the Emporio for our first trip to Mexico. After reading prior reviews, I had low expectations and was pleasantly pleased with the room, facilities and beach access. We did not participate in the "all-inclusive" option and felt a little like we might have been relagated to a different group as far as service levels. I would stay here again! The Room: We had a 2 bedroom set-up on the 8th floor facing the lagoon. Room was basic, the top drawer of the dresser was broken and nearly fell on my foot when we checked-in and emptied our bags, I'm so glad I still have good reflexes as that would have put a big kink in our trip! The fridge was tiny and seemed to leak a bit. The bathroom was nice, really liked the shower stall and separate toilet room. The actual beds were lacking, major backpain so we each slept on the far edges that were more firm. The lounger in the room was stained and not very welcoming, didn't use it! Our room was cleaned early the first 2 days; after that it was closer to 5pm. Did I mention the balcony view? A nice place to welcomg the end of the day/sunet and enjoy a drink/snack before heading out to dinner. The hotel location is near the end of the Hotel Zone. We enjoyed the location as there were little shops and restaurants nearby and the bus was readily available and easy to take anywhere. You are 1-mile either by the sidewalk on the main road or down the beach to Playa Delfines beach which is a beautiful public beach. If you head out and south, you can run/walk along the sidewalk and eventually a bike path that makes for a wonderful morning exercise route (toward the airport). The hotel facilities: various pools, beach access and gym were all nice. The hotel is having one full wing re-done, so there is loud work going on nearly all day. If you sit below it, you'll hear it so just head to the otherside of the facility. We had the pick of cabanas or poolside chairs daily and appreciated the quiet mornings and lazy days lounging. The Beach access is wonderful and easy. The hotel provides beach towels that are nice sized, you can get fresh ones anytime you need them. The only issue are the limited amount cabanas and shade access with chairs down at the beach. Many people park their towels and never come back, leaving empty chairs that others could use. We were able to snag shade and sun chairs for a few days with shade access....which was great. The staff on-site were always friendly, helpful and kind.

This hotel wins due to the staff. Everyone made our stay amazing and made us feel super special. Unfortunately, they have a lot of work to do in their rooms maintenance. Our phone line didn't work; and the sink lid didn't lift and it was leaking.

Fasano is great for dinner. Need to make a reservation in the main lobby ahead of time. We got tapitas, wine, and steak. The chorizo was like breakfast sausage to me so I wouldn't recommend. Carlos was our waiter and he was very attentive and nice. Thank you for a great time!

The food was amazing and huge portions. Carlos was excellent and attentive. The chicken breast with wine reduction was a great entree as were the garlic knots as an appetizer. If you are staying at the Emporio, you should definitely take the time to make a reservation here.
