Highly recommended. The hotel is unique in that it has a very modern, chic feel integrated with the Cancun landscape. It sits on a unique trip or land which they've done a great job taking advantage of. While distances between places can be a little long, they had numerous golf carts that took people around. We never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes. The room, facilities, and common areas were all kept immaculate and clean.

To preface this review we have stayed at many 5 diamond resorts, and have high expectations. Before I get into the details in my opinion this resort has the looks of high end resorts, and the property is visually stunning. The food is fairly good, and the only major complaint we had was the need for improvement in the consistency of service. This is in another class than the all inclusives. This is a resort of the discerning traveler looking for luxury and not afraid to spend to get it. You cant compare this to a paradisus or riu. Its in the category of Banyan Tree, Rosewood, or Ritz Carlton. - Appearance : Visually, the resort was stunning. The restaurants, rooms, decor were all beautiful and in good shape. I would compare the first impressions to the Banyan Tree or Rosewood. Visually they were on par, and the photos matched what we expected. (most of the photos online dont do the appearance justice) - Rooms: We booked a garden pool villa, and the room was great. It was one of the best rooms I have had. The room was very tasteful and well thought out. My only complaints were the amount of things not working. Our phone stopped working, our shower was broken, the huge sliding glass door looking out to the pool was next to impossible to open and shut. The bluetooth was a nice touch, but very difficult to figure out. (there are different outlets to adjust different areas of volume) The outdoor shower was great, and overall it was a great room. - Food: Food was interesting. We had some unbelievable meals and some pretty average at best meals. Room service was pretty bland every time we ordered it. We were never impressed with room service quality. Ramona was very good. Indochine was our favorite. (the lamb was phenomenal) La punta was above average. - Service: This is so tough to judge. It was TERRIBLE the first two days we stayed at the property. It was so bad that we contemplated switching resorts for the remainder of our trip. We kept hearing other people talk about the service setting it apart from other resorts, and we thought either they havent experienced what we have in regards to resorts or we are the one off. Here are some things we dealt with. - Check in was confusing. We had multiple people asking us questions and giving us different info. It was not relaxing at all. Most high end resorts sit you down, and bring a folder with everything. This was chaotic. - We ordered grocery delivery as my wife has requirements that most resorts dont offer. It was two bags of groceries. We have never had a resort ever even mention it, and everywhere I have ever been the resort either calls us to let us know its there or delivers it to our room. I called the concierge to let them know it was coming, and they told me they would deliver it. However, we were told by the delivery woman that the resort would not permit her. I called again, and the concierge had to put me on hold to discuss with a manager whether they would allow it. They did allow it, but they told me that we had to be at the lobby when the delivery arrived, and they would not take it to our room. I cant believe how ridiculous this is. - Our first two nights we did not receive turn down service. We called at 8:30 for turndown on our first night. On our second day we called at 9:30 for turn down. We asked to have it scheduled at 6:30 with the concierge for the following day, and he argued with us on why we didnt get it. He told us we had our privacy door sign up. (we didnt put it up one time) It was a little frustrating that instead of helping us he preferred to argue with us. - Our phone in our room stopped working on day 3, and we told three people. We never did get the issue resolved. - Our shower stopped working, and we told housekeeping. That never was resolved. (thank goodness for the outdoor shower and great weather) - we didnt meet our butler until the day before we left. - At the gym we were told by one employee that masks were required everywhere but on the treadmill. Mid way through our run another employee took the first ones spot, and he told us masks were required on the treadmill. Its fine to have a policy, but to have to go get a mask mid run is annoying... We would have never run inside if we knew this was the case. - The amount of times we were told no was sadly impressive... At most resorts we have been to when we have a small request they do what they can to accommodate or atleast make us think they are doing what they can. Nizuc just says no. For example my wife really wanted chips and guac at Ni. She asked if we could get them, and the response we got was that she could go back to the pool bar for them. I will say on Wednesday the service was very good. I really dont know what changed, but I asked for a certain table at dinner and for Champagne to be ready when we got there, and everything was perfect. The waiter at Ramona was one of the best. The pool service was great. Luis and Isabella were phenomenal. Overall, the service just wasnt consistent. When you go to a top luxury resort you experience well thought out highly consistent service. This resort has some over the top great service mixed with some terrible service. Most times if you ask for something you have to assume its not going to happen. One last tip is that if you get a garden pool villa make sure you check the front door to see if there is space under it. We had two cockroaches and believe it or not a crab in our room. There is space between the door and the floor. (i am talking about the door inside to the bedroom area) We have had cockroaches in other luxury hotels in the jungle, so we get that it happens. Just be careful. So at the end of the day my wife and I keep asking ourselves if we liked Nizuc or not... Our answer is we arent sure. There is so much potential, but so many let downs. We want to like it, but overall I rate it as an average 5 diamond resort and more realistically its a good 4 diamond resort. Compared to others we have stayed at the property is probably similar to the Rosewood, but the Rosewood service blows Nizuc away. I prefer the Banyan Tree over both, and I would go to the Banyan Tree over the Nizuc or Rosewood.

My wife and I have visited this wonderful resort previously and have always been very pleased by the excellent service, the fine dining, and the terrific rooms. This time we brought our adult children along and they were amazed. This time we arranged activities (with excellent help from Irma del Angel) which were outstanding! As an example, we all very much enjoyed the sushi-making lesson we received from the gracious and exceedingly talented Chef Alicia of Indochine. My wife and I have dined at Indochine which we love and so it was a great privilege to meet the chef. We also enjoyed Ni for the freshest lunch, La Punta for a romantic dinner on the beach, and La Playa for terrific breakfasts. As usual, the rooms were amazing. My wife and I stayed in a Pool Pavilion suite which is so private and peaceful. Meanwhile the other four members of our group stayed in a Master Suite with adjoining double bed ocean view room. The view and elegance of this suite is unbelievable. Finally, I want to add that the staff were all so responsive and helpful from the front desk to the golf cart drivers to the concierge team and on. Nizuc is a magical place because of the location, cuisine, facilities, and most of all the people. One final note, Nizuc is just 20 minutes from Cancun airport, yet it’s a world away from the noise and bustle of the airport. We are so glad to maximize our time on the property both on arrival and the day of departure.

A little bit expensive, but I felt very safe in the hotel. And they did a very good job for cleaning. Very nice pool with bar inside. They also have very good restaurants. Food is good, but a little bit expensive.
