The Eco-hotel El Rey del Caribe is an oasis of tranquility in the center of downtown Cancun. The eco-hotel's traditional colonial facade is cheerfully painted with a Mexican flair. Passing through the wrought iron gates , you enter the interior courtyard where you are surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The interior courtyard layout provides you with quiet in the midst of the city and security in the midst of convenience. All rooms open onto the courtyard which contains a swimming pool and jacuzzi. The owners are in residence to assure that you feel completely at home and give you a taste of traditional Mexican hospitality. We invite you to join us in our efforts to make an ecological concept a reality. We do our best to respect the environment by using solar hot water heaters, recycling by separation of trash, composing of garden and kitchen wastes, and capturing of rain water. We even have an unusual solar clothes drier .Some rooms are equipped with suitable technology in composing toilets.

Beautiful old hotel in the heart of cancun. The property is so lush and so private you won't want to leave! There are hammocks and chairs by the pool which is very nice with a little jacuzzi / water fountain feature. The breakfast is a nice touch and delicious. The hotel is a 5 min walk to the ADO bus station so very convenient if it's your first / last night in cancun!

Thank you for your valuable comments, we remind you that in advance reservations 30, 60 and 90 days, the prices are very attractive. The largest fish in the world called whale shark visits us every year from May to September and is completely harmless, you can admire it by hundreds not to be missed (highly recommended) Yours sincerely Eduardo RH Manager

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed on our first two days upon our arrival in Cancun. Perfect place to recover from our trip from Europe!. Although located downtown, the hotel was quiet and very clean and the luxurious garden was so relaxing. Breakfast was great and the staff so friendly. Booked the transportation from Cancun airport. Despite of a significant flight delay, our driver was awaiting for us and was very welcoming. In brief, a great place downtown and away from the big unstylish resorts by the hotel zone

I have trvavelled on 7 continents and this is my sixth year coming back to El Rey del Caribe so I have spent many tranquil days here in the sweetest hotel in the world. Cancun is a center of the World and the El Rey is a great base to stay and to enjoy or to use as a base to see the awesome sights and sites of the Yucatan Peninsula The hotel is unique in my experience and I thank the family and staff for keeping El Rey an authentic experience for all--kids, adults, seniors. We stayed at el rey del caribe for 2 nights and had a lovely time - the greenery and lovingly decorated outdoor spaces really make it a calming enclave. Helpful staff, many breakfast options (although on the second day not all options were available) and considerably quiet room, only the bright flodlights in the courtyard shone into the room a little much for our liking. Would definitely recommend staying here!
