I want to thank some people for again providing fantastic service over my stay. The Bellmen José, Hugo and Leo always had a big smile and handshake whenever they were around as you walked by. The ladies in the 750 restaurant/gift shop Rosa, Deysi and Juanita. They took good care to make sure you got what you needed. The lobby bar staff Santiago, Raul, Mauricio and Stephanie with the smile. I appreciate your service, always prompt and friendly. The lobby bar had a light menu that was very good. Since MCR is renovating there may be some people not coming back, I wish all the best to them. To the staff that will be returning I hope to see you when the reopen happens. I do really enjoy my stays at MCR.

Great Marriott property with amazing sea views. Too good beach resort. It has n number of activities to offer kids and great experience for families. This marriott property and resort is quite near from the airport where you will find very easy access. The hotel restaurants are also quite good.

The location is very good, I am a returning guest and I hoped to be happy with choosing the hotel. Unfortunately, during my stay, it was a big conference that was loud, even during the night, and also they close the pool at 3PM for privat event 😕 The management let the guests know about one of their big party, but nothing else. The front desk people weren't too friendly either. Most of the staff made eye contact and smile, there were some that went above and beyond, Felipe ( towels), Giovanni ( restaurant). The room was clean and large, they don't have sleepers or vanity kit anymore ☹️ Overall, it's a good hotel, but be aware that the service is not what you would expect at a Marriott hotel. My suggestion would be JW Marriott ( I was a guest there sevaral time ).

My wife and two daughters stayed at the Marriott Cancun this past weekend. We did enjoy our stay tremendously. Check in was super easy. The hotel was clean and easy to navigate. It was a little older and in need of a facelift, but it appears that is happening in the next few weeks with a complete remodel. The service was great. Every employee we encountered were super friendly and helpful. I really look forward to revisiting the hotel once it is remodeled. We did get upgraded to a ocean front room which was fantastic and if you have the opportunity i would definitely suggest the oceanfront rooms. The hotel only has one pool that is quite large. We did spend some time there and it was never too crowded to enjoy. The beach access was great. Really easy to get to the beach and the beach side bar might be the best in Cancun. A little pricey but the views could not be beat.

If you like paying double for everything stay here. Make sure you ask for a receipt, they will not provide one and say “we have no record.” IF you hear “our system is down” be on alert for a scam. This place will rob you in fees. Also ADULTS ONLY is a false narrative.

We were quite surprised to learn midway through our stay (from our Isla tour boat captain!) that this Marriott was closing soon. The staff were all so friendly and hardworking, it was hard not to be concerned what would happen to all of them. This is a beautiful property, and one of the few low-rise hotels left in the hotel zone. The rumor going around was it is being converted to all inclusive. We kind of like NOT all inclusive, so this was the perfect place for us. We had breakfast each morning then set out on our adventures for the day. Housekeeping was prompt and kept everything spotless, and we loved seeing Enrique each morning at Hana. We will watch for the reopening and return in the future!

The bad news: - The rooms are small and the beds are concrete slabs rather than mattresses. - Plenty of AC outlets in the room but in places that made sense 20 years ago, like for a lamp. No USB power outlets. - Lots of staining in the marble bathroom floor. - My room for some reason had a dislodged overhead A/C panel in the entrance hallway. - No desk and work chair for laptop computer activity. Yes, I know it's a resort but some of us do like to sit and read email or surf with a decent size 15" screen. - The main pool is unheated which is not uncommon for the tropics. The good news: - The hotel is shutting down in a few weeks until Jan 2024 to update all the rooms, main pool area, and front entrance. - The staff from top-to-bottom were friendly, polite, and helpful. Hopefully, they will all be back in 2024. - Food and drink were very good to excellent at prices that you would pay at many Marriotts in mainland USA. Connected next door is the sister property, the JW Marriott. Different vibes between the two hotels: the Marriott is more "red solo cup" in the big pool where the JW is more intimate and designed for quiet relaxation for adult couples rather than families or groups. Note: Google "Cancun seaweed" or "Cancun sargassum" and you will find plenty of news items about what's been happening over the past 6-8 years along the coastline. Don't be fooled by the company website pictures of pristine beach below the property; those are certainly out of date. Tractors are out there every morning trying in vain to rake away the huge clumps of seaweed. The swell was heavy enough that beach swimming was out of the question anyway. Situation is further up north along the hotel zone beaches.

The resort itself is beautiful. However the Resturant’s are awful and way too expensive for the quality of food served. The music is too LOUD and plays until 2:30 am most nights. For $350 a night I do not care to hear music coming up to the second floor.

We arrived and were quickly greeted by Jose at the front door. He was very friendly and said he would take care of our luggage. He gave us a luggage tag and later escorted us to our room, giving us all kinds of information about the room and area restaurants. Our room had a nice view of the ocean but was partially obscured by a structure just below us. We still had a good view though and most rooms facing the ocean did. The pool area has 2 bars, 1 in the pool and 1 nearby along with an outdoor pool restaurant. The flank steak quesadillas were fantastic! The hotel has several restaurants both in this main hotel and the sister hotel, JW Marriott right next door. There are plenty of places to eat without ever having to leave the hotel. The staff is very friendly and are hard workers, making sure your stay is as best as it can be. Housekeeping also did a great job and were very quick. The rooms are spacious, have balconies, a coffee maker, large tv, in room safe and small fridge. Be careful with the fridge though. If you move an item in the mini bar, it triggers a charge to your room as having used it. There is a small vacant portion of the fridge for your use. Although this particular area of town isn’t our preferred area, we would stay at the Marriott again. The hotel was very comfortable.

From the moment we arrived, from Eduardo welcoming us taking our bags to Erick at the front desk making sure we had a beautiful room, we were thrilled with our stay at the Marriott. We had excellent meals at the on-site sushi restaurant, the poolside restaurant for lunch and cocktails, food quality was incredibly fresh and delicious and service was expedient. Too bad this Marriott will transition to an all-inclusive. I hope some of the fantastic staff here can find employment at the also wonderful JW marriott next door!
