I went to GR Caribe with my wife who is 8 months pregnant. We loved the all inclusive aspect to our stay and felt very cared for. Our family has a membership, which helped a lot with knowing all the best things to do at the resorts with no experience being here. Our host Sergio was great, very proactive, and helpful. We loved the Mexican show at the Hotel Solaris theater. We enjoyed all of the restaurants but especially the Marco Polo. We spent a lot of time relaxing at the pool and at the beach. The beachfront is perfect with crystal clear Caribbean water. One of our favorite activities was just swimming in the ocean together. Would highly recommend this resort for those wanting to have a relaxing stay and get your feet wet experiencing Cancun for the first time. We spent almost all of our time at the resort, but did enjoy one excursion and took a bus to a local museum on Mayan history on our last day.

We spent an relaxing 8 days at GR Caribe. Everything about the service and staff was exceptional. I want to particularly name a few of the staff that stood out. Juan Carlos (concierge) , Carlos (Club sales), Ermel (Marco Polo waiter), Ambrocio, Darwin, Arlet, Jose Antonio, Andres Bravo (Bogavante). They all provided us with an individualized experience that went above and beyond what we expected to receive. I have a few points to mention: The front desk staff at GR Caribe is less helpful than the Hotel Solaris front desk staff, who are exceptionally helpful. The bartender at the VIP lounge is excellent and very attentive. The bartenders at the swim up pool bar seem worn down and overworked. Getting a drink from them took more than a few minutes. In all the restaurants, we experienced top notch service of top notch food with each waiter addressing my gluten allergy with care. Had a small issue getting dinner reservations at the end of our trip and were unsure why. The free excursion to Tullum is not worth it. It was more about getting us to the Silber store than anything else and it took longer than we were told it would. Some of the excursions were different than we were seeking and expressed to the guy selling them. For instance, the catamaran to Isle de Mujeres was a party boat expedition with added costs not revealed. We still had a good time. It also took longer than we were told it would. We thankfully made it back in time for dinner. Considering COVID considerations, they did a good job of balancing the rules and accommodating guests to ensure we had a great stay. It's on the southern end of Cancun and away from all the flash of the northern end. However, that northern part is just a $1 bus ride away if you wanted to head up there. Look for the red bus that stops just about everywhere! We bought a 10 year membership with them with the intention of returning annually. It's a great spot that I would highly recommend.

Took my 22 year old son and 24 year old daughter and husband for their Christmas present. Arrived at hotel very nice, easy check in. We were tired as we got up at 3 to head to airport from Boston. But, of cours, first time there so no one wanted to nap. Walked around grabbed drinks went to swim up pool bar. Kids were drinking, they are at age, still as a mom you worry. But they closed the pool bar and they were with a bunch of kids their own age at Royal (Hotel next door) so my husband and I went to grab dinner. Come back later 3 security are talking to my daughter. They said my son got in a fight and he was sent to mexican jail. He was acting crazy and loco and screaming and punching. I was out of my mind. Manager from Royal said just get some sleep and talk to RCI in morning because he has to sleep it off. My son's about 5 7 and slim. Never ever has been in fight. We thought they had the wrong person. My daughter has no recollection my son didn't either. They are really close so she doesn't even know when they separated. I heard of black out drunk but no recollection of anything after that pool bar closed. Not even a recollection that they could piece together. I called Manager I wanted to talk with police, they said very bad English. I ended up taking a taxi at 10:30 at night (again first night) - to jail to see him. I was allowed one visit with him, he was crying so bad only in his boxer shorts saying they told me you and Kayla were dead. Volmit all over floor - no toilet paper to go bathroom, everyone had to go sitting over same crap. They told me I needed $400 american to bail him out or to leave him three days but I couldn't get him until morning. I was instructed to first see RCI and basically they told me to get him out first and sneak him back to room and in meantime they will help me figure it out. Bailed him out, he was shaking and crying and still has absolutely no recollection. Got back to room at least he ate and had a shower, but right away hotel security said he has to leave the property. They gave me no opportunity to see video, to figure out what I could do nothing. I had no covid test (hotel offered them) no flight home, no hotel room and terrible internet. They offered me no explanation that I could understand except that says it involves a girl and police told me it was men. Of course we all wanted to fly home. He begged us to stay, ruining our trip (who cares at this point) – they shipped him across the

My wife and I enjoyed a stay here 10 years ago and decided to come back again. We love the adults only quiet atmosphere and the styling. So, if you are 20 years old and looking for a party resort, this isn't for you. My wife and I enjoy the low key atmosphere and charming feel of this space. While it says that all gratuities are included, all of the staff certainly appreciate any tips just like the rest of the world. I ordered 200 $2 bills ahead of time from the bank to bring with us. We tried to tip for everything from the cleaning lady to the towel person etc. They all appreciated it so much and we were glad we did it. I will try to give some information that is helpful but kind of hard to find so that it may help with your own planning: Travel to/from airport: It's a bit of a pain to get out of the Cancun airport, find a taxi/shuttle, and ensure you are headed to the correct spot. Having dealt with that before, I arranged for a private shuttle to/from the airport for $50 each way. I'm not sure that was worth it. There was someone there to meet us with a sign with our name on it as we stepped out of the airport but he just led us to a waiting area where he called a shuttle to come pick us up 15 min later. For the trip home, it would've just been easier to grab a $30 taxi at the hotel instead of arranging for the shuttle to and then waiting for him to show up. Rooms: The last time we stayed here we had an 'Ocean View'. This time we upgraded to 'Ocean Front'. That was a surprise as it came with a large bedroom and large bathroom as well as a living room and separate bathroom. We really enjoyed it. I didn't think there were any rooms with balconies here but once we were here we did notice a few of them that do. The next time we come we may try to get a balcony room. Cleanliness/COVID: The staff were constantly cleaning and disinfecting. They all wore eye protections as well as double-masks. If you weren't actively eating/drinking you were expected to keep your mask on. I went up to the pool bar from the beach to get a drink and they asked me to put a mask on. I've pretty low-key about these things but I'm sure people would appreciate knowing that this resort seems to work hard at disinfecting and keeping everyone healthy. We constantly saw maintenance crews pruning and painting. If you look hard enough you will find imperfections in the rooms and around the resort. However, when you look at it as a whole, I thought they did a good job overall of keeping it maintained and cleaned. Restaurants: At the Caribe resort there are two primary restaurants and they both require reservations. That system could be greatly improved. At the sister resort next door (GR Solaris) there is a restaurant reservation desk which opens every day at 9:30. You are permitted to make reservations for 2 nights (tonight and tomorrow night). Every other day we would head over to the reservation desk and get in line before the desk opens. We would then spend 20-30 minutes waiting in line to get to the desk to make the reservations. The clerk would then hand write them down and then write out a paper slip for each reservation. I felt bad for her and the whole process. This was probably the most annoying thing about our stay. Caribe Restaurants: Bogavante & Veneto Bogavante is an open-air restaurant next to the beach. You get great views and a nice breeze and quickly became our favorite restaurant. We ended up eating here 6 of our 10 nights. They change the menu each day which also made it attractive to return. It's just hard to beat that view and the ocean air. We ate there the first night we got there before having a chance to set a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. Veneto: This restaurant is just off the hotel lobby/lounge. This alternates between an Italian and French cuisines. We went there once to try it out and it was good. Cafe: There is a cafe we went to for breakfast every morning for all 10 days. There is a nice variety of food on the menu and we tried it all during our stay. It's nice and quiet and has a nice atmosphere. Solaris Restaurants: Las Fuentes, Marco Polo, Rosmarinus Las Fuentes: This is a large buffet restaurant in the middle of the sister resort next door. It can hold a lot of people and so it can be loud. If you like the idea of a buffet and no reservations, you may like this. We ate here 10 years ago and decided not to dine here this visit but it felt like most of the guests at the sister resort at here. Marco Polo: Requires reservations. We ate here one night and enjoyed it. I don't recall a lot about it but I wouldn't mind going back. Rosmarinus. This is an open-air restaurant by the pools and overlooking the beach. We decided to go there one morning for breakfast to mix things up but were were told it was only for 'members'. I think it may be available for dinner for non-members but we didn't end up eating there. Members Only: They sell timeshares here and will hit you up to go to a presentation in order to get a couple of free massages and a trip to see Tulum. Because I had no interest in that, we didn't attend. However, there did appear to be extra benefits for members or timeshare owners such as nicer beach towels, Rosmarinus breakfast access, and a private bar/lounge. Safety: We never left the resort but we certainly felt safe while there. Whether on the beach or walking around the resort at night, we never felt uncomfortable. COVID Testing: In order to return to the US you have to have a negative covid test taken 1 day prior to departure. This was not very clear to us so we had to ask several people to get a good answer. Basically, two days before departure, you set a reservation time at the front desk for the next day. At the appointed time, you walk next door to the sister resort to the clinic near the gym and they will swab your nose. The results will be sent back to the hotel from the lab and will be available for pickup from the sister resort front desk (Solaris). I checked a couple of times and they were available at 10:30pm. They will charge $20 per person to your hotel bill. Room Service: There is a limited menu for room service and sometimes it can cake a while to get through. Extras: There are several packages you can order for your stay. We elected to get two: Romantic Package: For around $60 you get a bunch of rose petals in your room leading to the bed with a bunch in a heart shape and a bottle of wine and your choice of a cheese selection or other sweets. That was a nice treat coming in from the beach one time. Private beach Dinner: For around $150 you can have a private beach dinner on the beach at the sister resort. We were the only ones that evening doing it. There were still people on on the beach so 'private' is a relative term but we were the only ones dining. That was just before sunset so if you choose to do it after sunset I'm sure it would be a lot more private. It includes a steak (lobster was out of season) as well as a bottle of wine and bathrobes in your room to use the rest of the visit. It was nice enough that we considered doing it a second night but decided not to. You set it up at the front desk but depending on the weather, you may have to be flexible and check over the course of a day or two before they think the weather will be good enough. This hotel seemed to have several outdoor quiet places to hang out for the evening. We often found ourselves alone in one of these spaces. However, if you like a louder environment with other people around the lounges at both hotels give some options. Beach/Pool: We chose to hang out on the beach every day versus the pool. The sound of the waves and the lack of crowds made that attractive. It was easy to find chairs and we never got bored of that. Lots of beachwalkers will come by trying to sell various items but they would keep walking as soon as you said 'no thank you'. The pool was where most people seemed to hang out and there was music and various entertainment. The evenings and some of the indoor spaces got a little cool and we wished we had brought an extra sweater or sweatshirt. My wife bought one but I was fine. All of the staff was genuinely nice and helpful and made the stay even better. If you are looking for party resort, look elsewhere. However, we loved our stay and look forward to going back sometime.

We keep coming back. Excellent value for money. Top notch service ! Benjamin has been welcoming us for many visits with our bags to our rooms and transportation needs. We can forget the hard work from our daily room cleaner, Yareni- excellent. Our pool service was outstanding-Omar at GR caribe and Laura Pat at Royal. Ricardo at Marco Polo , Darwin and Didier at Bogavante alway deliver ! Javier in the lobby bar area is great. Ignacio has been the best over the years keeping the servers providing excellent service. My favorite server is Darvin, he’s always on the move delivering amazing service all the time at morning breakfast and Rosmarinus.
