My husband and I just came back from a two week stay at this resort. We feel it is a 3.5* resort. We felt as though you needed to be a part of their “Club” to be treated nicely by the staff. We were in the bar and brought up the drink menu and instead of giving you a lower grade alcohol they just simply said you could not have specific drinks. Around the pool you are given a different color towel so the staff knows who belongs to the “club”. We often ordered drinks and they never showed up. We also witnessed along with dozens of other people a violent domestic dispute and the hotel did nothing about it. The gentleman was back in the bar five minutes later. We were so upset we did not go back to that lounge again. The food was good and we did have one amazing man in the buffet Angel Ricardo that was outstanding. We would never go back to another Solaris resort due to our experience.…
The two of us really had a wonderful trip to GR Caribe. The staff was so welcoming and friendly the entire time. We realized after we booked that most of the rooms don't have balconies, which we missed having, but the room was totally enjoyable- hot water, turn-down service each day and cozy bedding. We had access to the Royal Solaris next door, which was a huge plus. Added a lot more options for restaurants, pool spots and entertainment day and night. Royal does not have access to GR, so it was nice to have our side to go to for a quieter atmosphere. Bogavante was our favorite restaurant for sure, go for lunch and dinner- it has a beautiful ocean view. My biggest tip would be to ask another guest or couple for advice on how to access the wifi and hotel app (needed to book dinner reservations). Concierge gave us the rundown when we first got there but we were a bit confused, so a kind couple gave us some help. After that it was completely smooth sailing! (although be sure to book your dinner first thing in the AM) It was our first time staying in the hotel zone and I would recommend taking the city bus uptown to the mall and museum. We also enjoyed kayaking on lagoon side, thanks Geo from the entertainment team! Really no complaints from this trip at all!…
This place is so much fun. Great place to go with a family. Everyone is very nice and attentive and I would definitely come back. Eduardo my friend in the pool entertainment staff was awesome! Thank you for everything! Darth Vader was awesome!
We just ended a lovely 9 day stay. We love the cozy atmosphere of the GR Caribe. We are vegans, so we were nervous that we’d struggle to find appropriate meals. Darwin, the restaurant Captain was wonderful, ensuring we had delicious vegan meals.
The Royal Solaris/ GR Caribe has been an absolute blessing for us- we have been members here for 10 years. First thing you’ll admire is the STAFF- the highest level of excellences and accommodating. The resort is clean and well maintained. 4 star quality of food throughout the day. I’m gluten free and they have a menu for vegan and other options. The offer amazing entertainment for young and old- by the pool is always entertaining with games music and pool aerobics. The amazing staff and bar tenders become more like family with a true relationship. You time will be well spent here and I highly encourage everyone to enjoy as we do. 👍🏼
Used to be great for members, no longer the case. Better to go somewhere else. - room reservations were not honored (member and guests given non-balcony, no view rooms) - members services team is rude and insulting. So annoyed with them we skipped the members gala dinner. - need at least 2 hours in each restaurant for dinner (so slow), meal was consistently delivered wrong. - ordering off members menu makes it even longer, dont bother. -dinner reservations were not honored sometimes. had to wait an hour one night to be seated, w/ valid reservation. -performance team was reduced significantly. same 4 people performing each night, very limited guest performers, shows shorter (30 mins typically). -Pizza at the Royal takes 45 minutes in line. Sushi is even longer. Can spend the day in the pizza and sushi lines. - kids club staff team has turned-over. Kids didnt get to go instead the kids club area for play (inside the building), was swim only outside, our entire trip. kids got bored of that fast. - Pancho was non-existent. Only quick minutes at breakfast, beyond that, no Pancho. Beyond that, of course the rooms are too loud, and the property needs serious updating. -- these things were overlooked previously because services was so great, but sadly it has gone downhill. Will be going somewhere else next year…
This resort was great. The view from our room was beautiful. Our room was spacious and welcoming. Our RCI concierge Marco was also welcoming and very accommodating. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. At Bogavante restaurant, Jaime, Didier and Darwin were outstanding in service and helpfulness. The spa was very relaxing and our room was cleaned superbly.
Clean room with patio and a nice view made for a enjoyable stay. The resort was definitely low key and quiet. The only outside bar didn’t open until 11:00am and closed at 6:00pm. The only inside bar opened at 3:00pm and closed at 10:00pm. They did not use any top end liquor as advertised. There were 3 restaurants but you can only make 1 reservation at a time and before 3:00pm. We ate twice at Bogavante since the other restaurants were booked. Good meal with a great scenic view of the beach and ocean made the night memorable. Overall we enjoyed our trip and the staff was polite and pleasant. It is a good value for the money.
We love that we are close to everything as it is not large resort. The employees are so attentive and friendly. They greeted us as we met them on the sidewalk or at any of the restaurants. We love everyone from our housekeeper to the servers to cooks to the pool entertainers. Laura Pat and Pablo served us drinks at the pool. Servers were all so good especially Yeison, Mainor, Noyelli, Jorge at Marco Polo at GR Solaris. Magic Mike and Eduardo Gil always stopped and spoke to us as they entertained us around the pool. The whole group was outstanding and kept us all laughing and participating. Roberto was our concierge and helped us so much. The food was amazing! We loved Marco Polo at GR Solaris, Bogavante at Caribe and Veneto also. The snack bars were very good also with pizza , snacks like nachos, guacamole, and burgers. It's so fun to talk to others vacationing from all over the world! Our room was spacious and well maintained. We did have a bathtub jacuzzi and shower. it was a little difficult to keep the water from spilling over on to the floor. Maybe something else should be done here because turning on the shower was a task as it was at the far end of the tub. The ocean view though is wonderful and great to wake up to!!…
My 7yo loved the kids club. We went there every day. Kids can enjoy a shallow pool, water slides, room with toys, play stations, staff-organized activities like crafting, dance, cartoons, games on the beach. Parents can drop off kids, and check on them every 40 min, or you can stay with the kid entire time. I felt very safe for my kid. Thank you Blanca and other ladies who work there.
