Positive things: helpful and pleasant staff. Calm place. Large room. The air conditioner worked great. Negative things: the internet - sometimes there was, sometimes there was no room at all. Warm water was sometimes not. Strange smell in the bathroom on arrival.
The other reviews are accurate in terms of there being no hot water. I never had any and got tired of asking. My mum stayed in a room next to me and hers was warm after she asked. I think they have to turn it on every morning. So none at night. It's a shame because it lets this place down. The room was lovely, big enough and clean. It was cleaned daily and the staff were great. The location of the hotel is on a backstreet in downtown cancun. Very near the centre (walking distance) , shops, etc and lots of street food places, minimarts and the bus station. Also near a really nice vegan cafe as cancun is not really vegan friendly. There was one local bar we went to only once. (oasis) There is no nightlife nearby at all. The "piano bar" that is round the corner is actually a table dancing / gentleman's club which myself and my mum were denied entry to. We just wanted a bar with music but this could not be found anywhere near where we stayed. Maybe we came in a quiet month. There didn't seem to be many tourists but maybe that is because its February. The locals did not speak much English, we struggled with local eateries as we know no Spanish but I know we should not expect everyone to speak English. The lady at the vegan cafe was very helpful though. The restaurant was good, the staff did not speak much English but there was a good variety of food. We only ate there a couple of times and the prices were OK. There was no bar at the hotel just the restaurant. There is a bar there but the room was empty, again it may just be because it is not the summer / busy season. The nearest beach is a taxi ride away and the hotel zone where the more picturesque beaches are were a bus ride away which is very cheap. The taxi prices fluctuated but there was always one outside the hotel. Please note that when we got picked up from the airport the driver did not k ow where the hotel was and a lot of the local taxi drivers did not know either. I know this is a long review but hopefully it will help someone who needs to decide. If you want a cheap quiet place to stay and you're not visiting cancun for the nightlife then this is fine. If you want to party, drink in the evening then stay in an all inclusive in the hotel zone. The pool is very small but cleaned daily. The WiFi is was fine for simple things and better than nothing. And there's a free pool table!…
I booked the hotel just needing a place to sleep and leave my things while doing day tours. The hotel is a bit out of the way from things and I took taxis around to and from it. There were no restaurants in the area but the hotel had a little one which I ate at for dinner each night. The food is cheap but filling, usually I was the only one there but that was fine. The staff were very helpful. They carried my bag up to my room and were always ready to help me with calling a taxi over each morning when I went out. The hotel felt safe and quiet. The room was nice, it is older looking, but was fine for what I needed. Would stay again.
this vacation is truly an unforgettable experience, had a lovely time including a relaxing massage by Leslie and Viviana at the Hotel Spa, and I highly recommend them for anyone who is looking for a similar experience
The whole Hotel is old and need some refurbishment, we spend two nights there and payed a cheap price for it. Don't expect a luxus hotel or anything else. The Pool also looks a bit old, but get cleaned every morning. There are everytime Taxis in front of the Hotel. At least the breakfast was good. The staff on the reception is very kind and helped us with our questions.
Resort was not very clean, bathroom was dirty and had hair in the corners of the wall, sheets were dingy, had to call the front desk 3 times to get a bathroom. No Beach, the best thing was the massage by adelle, and the breakfast, very disappointed, spent 1400 dollars for the stay that was all inclusive, with Water Down Drinks, Most of the team could NOT speak or understand English
The place is cheap, clean and safe. Plus the pool table and on site restaurant was nice. However the WiFi was not working at the time I was there. This is a major problem for any traveler. There is strip club a block away too. Sooo if you’re into that, the location is prime.
A very functional, interesting looking hotel. All of the bottom level rooms seem to be used for storage. The habitable rooms are okay with large beds and hot water. The restaurant is a highlight, with great food and drinks. The pool was nicely kept, and secure. Very safe, monitored parking (a necessity in this section of town). Walking access to bus routes, taxis, and several restaurants. It is a bit jaded, but they seem to accommodate a lot of folks through here.
So many problems. 1 - “The internet works about 30% of the time” (this is a DIRECT quote from the guy who checked us in!). When I finally did get the internet to work, it took forever to load, which was impossible to use for work. When we discussed it with the manager, she said “there are bars, so it works”...even though she was literally standing there watching my ipad NOT load a website!! I am an independent contractor and need to do business on the road; it was impossible to do here, even though they advertised wifi. 2 - Upon arrival, I went to take a shower and there was no hot water! The employee at the front desk said to run it for 10 minutes to let it warm up...it never did. I was exhausted from traveling, so did a quick rinse with the cold water and called it a night. The following day, spoke to them about it again and they said they would get someone “on it” right away. We left for the day. When we came back, it still wasn’t hot, but it was warm-ish. Enough not to freeze when taking a shower. I spoke to them again the following morning and he said “it’s because of where you are located in the building; the boiler is on the other side”...WHAT?!!! So, on the third day, I had to pack up all my stuff and move to the 3rd floor and down the hall, to be closer to the boiler! 3 - The first morning, for breakfast, I got yogurt and fruit...I found a piece of plastic in my granola! I showed the waiter and he shrugged his shoulders and brought the bill! 4 - In a very bad part of town - not safe to go out at night. 5 - Manager extremely unhelpful. When I explained all of our troubles, she just kept repeating “there are no refunds”. Then, she offered to sell me a discounted ticket to their beach club for all of our troubles!! Hahaha, what a joke. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced and dishonest advertising. Pros: Mario tried to be helpful, unfortunately he couldn't because nothing worked. He was very apologetic, but there was nothing he could do.…
This is a budget hotel, 25 usd for a night, has there own pool and parking, is located in Cancun city so that mean no beach nearby, rooms were clean, and service was ok, if you took a taxi from airport here it would cost around 30 usd, neighborhood looks kind of scary but we only stay one night so I can not assure if is secure or not, but overall for the price is a good hotel.
