We stayed from February 1 - 11, 2020. We travelled with our 4 year old grandson who loved the resort! The kids club was wonderful and he spent time there on four of our ten days. There were a lot of children at this resort and he always found someone to play with either at the beach or the pools. We were able to enjoy time at the adult only pool while he played at the kids club which was really nice.
On arrival our check in was quick and seamless. We were given a quick rundown of the amenities while our bags were brought to our room which was helpful. There was no one else checking in at the time we arrived which made it fast.
The rooms were clean and modern, housekeeping was very consistent and the fridge was restocked daily.
The food was great! The buffet food was typical of resort buffet, there was a lot of variety and we always found something we liked. The restaurants were wonderful! Our favourite was the italian! Booking a la carte was super easy! and there were no limits to how many nights you booked. We booked our first 4 nights via email before we left for our vacation, then we booked three others in the morning by calling the reservation line. We called before 9am and never had to wait on hold.
Our buffet server, Israel, quckly came to know our routine and would have 2 coffees an orange juice and a Mimosa waiting at a table ready for us by the time we had our food. He was wonderful! We also had the pleasure of being served by Rubicel on the first couple days of our trip and he was also very attentive and remembered our coffee juice preferences.
Bernice, took care of pool side entertainment in the morning and hosted the water aerobics! She made the activities fun, engaging and she was genuinely funny!
At the beach bar, Juan Perez was always smiling and never failed to notice when a child got in line to order a drink from the children's drink menu! He made our grandson feel very special. Alexander would help out at the bar and run drinks for those sitting on the beach, that man is a roskstar!! Also super friendly and attentive!
When it was time to check out, Jesus was very helpful in securing our bags while we waited for our transportation later in the day, he set us up with access to the hospitality lounge where we were able to shower and change before heading to the airport.
Overall, this resort was a perfect fit for our family. We would highly recommend!

The resort was good for the value. I reserved the resort through Costco Travel which included great transportation from and to the airport(BD Experience), Even traveling as a couple, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND he upgraded club room with hot tub in room. We used that tub every day and night, especially when the weather was not accommodating.

Surprisingly, the general buffet (La Palapa) was better than the reservation-only restaurants, which only two restaurants were open and they rotated everyday. If you like Mexican food, the buffet is where it's at. They had one station that changes daily, but disappointed that the buffet didn't serve guacamole or horchata. I like that there's an adults-only seating area as well as outdoor seating. The snack bar by the pool was underwhelming (low quality hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, etc). Pool bar was great though.

The buildings are definitely dated, but passable. Just don't have high expectations and you'll be fine. Service was very good and staff were very friendly and amenable. COVID precautions were alright. All of the staff wore masks and most of the buffet was served by the staff. I do wish there were more hand sanitizing stations.

In summary, you get what you pay for, which is good but not excellent or awful. I would try another resort for my next visit, but I wouldn't hate it if I came back.

PS. The resort credit from Costco is only good for laundry, massage, wine, and lobster dinner. It would be nice if it applied to room service fees =(.

Overall, I liked the resort. The family atmosphere was great. When I checked in to the hotel, I asked if we were close to the night club, I was told 11 rooms away. That was untrue, we were directly across the hall and from 11pm-2am every night, we heard the thumping of the club music. Why would you have the largest (and most expensive ) family suites right across from the night club? We all were woken up every single night that we were there. The family suites were great for my family of 4, kids in one area with own bed and bath (and the sand stayed in their area!), and parents upstairs with own area too. BUT, there is no balcony from the top floor! I loved the room minus missing having a balcony and the noise from the nightclub. Also, the beds were pretty hard. and I like a hard bed but these were a little hard from me. The beach is amazing! Only thing I wold have liked was more shade closer to the water but I don't see how they could with the wind so I get it. The pools (except the adult and kid pool) was too cold to swim in and you literally could not get a chair in the shade and likely not one at all. Even at 8am, all the chairs were already saved, which was annoying. And the "entertainment" was SO loud, the beach was a better option anyway and plenty of chairs. The kid pool was warm, but mostly indoors and not very pleasant to sit at. The adult pool was amazing! But, we had kids so we couldn't go too often without my mom guilt kicking in. Overall, food was decent, it was clean, staff was very friendly. We had the resort take family pics on the beach, they turned out amazing as well. Id stay again but in a different area for sure.

This hotel is a rip off. We just got back from a 5 day stay with the family and out of the 5 days we were there, we had only one meal at one of their better restaurants called Wayne Boots. The rest of the meals were at the restaurant called La Palapa which is a buffet with mediocre food: spaghetti, beans, rice, bread etc. nothing fancy, hardly any protein choices and you have to wait forever in line to get your food. The Buffet servers are also so stingy when serving you the food so it makes you feel uncomfortable to have to ask for more.

They hotel advised us to call early in the morning for reservations at the other restaurants which we called at 8:30 am and they already told us there’s no more room available in the restaurant as all reservations were full. The Concierge manager advised us to just stop by at night to see if any people didn't show up and we can take their place. Well we did and of course they still didn't have any room available. It makes it very stressful to have to chase and secure a place to eat at night when you know you already paid a steep full price.

There’s also no bottled water available other then in your room. They serve you water in a glass but it taste like fish bowl water. The bar as well as the restaurants will serve you "fishy"tasting water in a glass.

We had a resort credit when I booked the hotel which was applicable for the lobster dinner, wine, room upgrade or laundry services. Well we couldn’t use the credit for anything else other then laundry services because since we couldn’t get into one of the restaurants it could not be applied.

I used some of it for laundry so that I won’t completely lose all the credits but the laundry services damaged 3 of the t shirts which I had to throw away because they were no longer usable ( stained them with something black).

The bar by the pool is only open till 6 pm and so does the snack bars. For the kind of $$ that we paid it was a really bad experience. This hotel however has been a disaster. The actual property is nice and the hotel rooms are not to bad but if you are paying for an all inclusive deal, it is not worth the $$.
Given that COVID is still around, I do not feel this hotel does a good job at disinfecting or cleaning surfaces to prevent the spread of Covid. They do some light cleaning and have sanitizer dispensing at the entrance but they don't quite enforce people to use it so it's up to each individual to be responsible to prevent contamination.

We visited Cancun 2 weeks prior and stayed at Hard Rock where the experience was stellar and the reason I returned to visit Cancun with the entire family. Needless to say I will never return to Crown Paradise as it was a bad deal. I would not recommend this hotel unless you like chasing your food and you enjoy being treated with ignorance.

We absolutely loved our stay at this resort. They have 7 restaurants to chose from. Even though we were only there for 3 nights, we were able to visit 5 out of the 7 restaurants. They have 5 different pools, multiple bar areas. The staff is really good and courteous and genuinely helpful. The resort takes cleaning and hygiene really seriously and all public areas are thoroughly cleaned every night. We would love to come back here again.

Only recommendation i would have is to make sure that the DJ is not so loud past midnight as there are people trying to sleep in rooms above them. Other than that, we really had a great stay.

Great place for young kids. Traveling without kids, you’re probably better off some place else. Be patient as I want to provide the next traveler some good information.
Be aware only beer, water, soda and juice is in your room. You cannot get a bottle of wine or liquor anywhere, not even delivered to your room. The food is average but on par with cost.

The resorts biggest problem is lack communication. It took us 3 days to get a hotel information directory book to our room. When we finally did, it was very lacking. The directory doesn’t include information about shows or restaurant menus (other than room service). EVERY restaurant other than buffet requires reservation. Plan to eat at the buffet the first night the. Make reservations immediately for the rest of your stay.

There is about a 50/50 split regarding customer service. It’s really good or really bad. There was a lot of inaccurate information provided to us during our stay which was quite frustrating. Then there were people like our bell boy Ricardo who went above and beyond at every turned. He even helped us in the lobby when we were having a few problems and the line was long at front desk.

The pools were nice, especially the adults pool. Beware there is very little shade at the other pools near the beach. Also, the “no reserving chairs” is not enforced.

Finally, the rooms are good shape but the bathrooms are not. We had 2 rooms. Both bathtubs were chipped and scratched. Our second bathtub was so bad we requested a room change. We were told they could in morning after their were checkouts. That morning we made the decision to just put rubber mat over since everyone in the room would use shower only.

In Summary, if your armed with information and want a great place for kids under 10. This is probably perfect. All the kids we saw were having a blast. If you have teenagers or it’s a couples trip. Might want to keep looking.

Traveled here with 11 family members and highly disappointed. Although the beach is beautiful and most of the rooms have an ocean view the rooms are barely ok. Smelly, outdated, and beds and pillows extremely uncomfortable. In addition it’s very difficult to get restaurant reservations on the property even though the ones we ate at were not even half full. Food was terrible at the restaurants and barely good enough to eat at the buffet, which closed between breakfast and lunch and also lunch and dinner, leaving only the pool snack bar as an option. Restaurants were only open for dinner and the adult pool closed very early. Worse yet the alcohol was totally watered down including the wine. Gross. I would only recommend this resort if price is the only consideration.

We were pleasantly surprised at the Crown Paradise. We went there without high expectations because although most of the ratings were good, there were a lot of bad reviews too. For the cost of this trip for me and my husband we were very pleased. But I think we were mostly pleased because we had a room that was a Crown Club room, which allowed us to go into the adult lounge on the 8th floor for breakfast, (Jerry was so very nice and attentive to us every day for breakfast), evening appetizers and drinks (Carlos was a favorite too, very nice and brought us drinks before we even asked for them! Whoop Whoop!), as well as our own personal concierge. It was very nice they had an adult pool as well (Roger in the adult pool worked so hard to make sure everyone was happy with beverages!) because that's where we stayed most of the time. This resort is very family friendly and has a lot of younger kid activities. Needless to say there were a lot of kids everywhere. Sooo if you don't want to be around children you should take this into consideration. We didn't expect many kids to be there in February, we were mistaken! We thought all of the restaurants were exceptional in service and food. We were not disappointed in any of them. One of the reasons we picked this resort was because of the variety of restaurant choices for dinner. They only open for dinner and they all require reservations. We did not have any trouble getting into any of them. The check-in and departure process was very easy and smooth, no problems. They have many employees there to assist you as soon as you walk in. The rooms are on the plain side, but here again we were not expecting too much for the price we paid. The mini bar was restocked every day, we had maid service every day, but we thought the bed was very uncomfortable. The air conditioner was not working when we got there, so we went to the front desk and it was fixed that day. They have daily activities by the pool starting at 10 am, which the person on the microphone was sooo loud and our room faced the main pool. It would have been nice to have that start maybe at noon so people can sleep in. The beach was nice and just a short walk from our room. White sand, beautiful water, and seaweed was minimal. The water was actually warm for February I thought. Overall we we happy with our stay.

Crown Paradise took care of myself (celebrating my 33rd Birthday), my sister, niece and nephew so wonderfully! Upon checking in with Andrea who was LOVELY, she took the time to explain the safety measures the hotel had taken upon coming back afloat to the new normal.

Safety wise, as soon as we approached the premises, our temperature was taken. Additionally, our luggage was taken, tagged, sanitized, wiped down and delivered to our rooms. There were hand sanitizer stations around the entire hotel and foot mats with some sort of disinfectant solution to lessen the spread. We were even offered a welcome drink nice touch during the current climate.

Food options were good; alcoholic beverages weren't very strong (nothing out of the ordinary with All inclusives). Remember to make a restaurant reservation with the Concierge ASAP (8am-2pm) as they fill up quickly. 3 of 6 restaurants are open. FYI - I didn't mind this practice as it prioritized social distancing over convenience.

We had a double room with a balcony WITH an ocean & pool view; can't really ask for much more. Beach water was a little rough so we enjoyed the pool for our stay.

My nephew (1) & niece (7) thoroughly enjoyed their stay as well as there were kiddie friendly sections which allowed a bit more social distancing. All around a great trip and I've already recommended this place to others.

In speaking with my sister, our only recommendation would be random temperature checks. It seems the only time you are checked is when you leave the hotel premises.

Best wishes & success Crown Paradise :)

If you are worried that your caviar must be the proper temperature or you need to swirl your wine around its glass before you drink it, then this resort is not for you. If you are a normal, average person who likes fun, sun, and great tropical drinks with amazing people then you should absolutely stay here. We brought are kids (ages 9-21) and they all had an awesome time.
To start, the staff are really amazing people who are always smiling, engaging, and willing to help with anything. The entertainment staff were great throughout the day through the nightly performances. Angel and Victor in particular did an awesome job! Every bartender, waiter, and cleaning staff we encountered all need to be recognized for there hard work.
We had 5 people in our group and the family suite was perfect. 2 bathrooms, great beds, and a great location.
Most of the specialty restaurants were open on alternating nights and had great food. The main buffet was fine, but maybe needed a little more variety day-to-day.
A main travel concern we had was about COVID testing to meet the US travel requirements. They had testing onsite that was both convenient and affordable to meet the requirements. We opted for rapid antigen tests and were charged $50/person.
We were a little worried before booking about what kind of place this would be. Best decision we could have made. Would recommend to anyone and definitely go back.
