The Wyndham Grand Cancun All Inclusive Resort & Villas boasts a coveted beachfront location that guests consistently applaud, but opinions on the property are mixed. While the hotel's atmosphere is described as vibrant, complete with engaging entertainment, some visitors find the noise disruptive. The rooms offer stunning views and are generally comfortable, but issues with accessibility, cleanliness, and maintenance have been noted. Although the service is often highlighted as attentive, experiences with amenities such as dining and poolside loungers vary, and hidden charges have marred the perceived value for some guests.

We came here as a family and booked slightly last minute. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are ok, everyone was so accommodating.
We emailed the hotel a few days before our stay for adjacent ground floor rooms and they were very quick to respond and carried out our request. The rooms were fine, comfortable and very close to the pools. Just be aware if you request similar that it can be noisy with the evening entertainment but this did not bother us.
The buffet breakfast was great, the lunch options are varied too with choices from multiple locations. The only thing that does need improving is the need for more vegetarian options in the restaurants as we did struggle with this. The other drawback is if you don’t want to eat the buffet dinner, you need to book the restaurants at 9am of that day which can be a bit of a pain.
The service at the hotel is brilliant. All the staff were really accommodating, friendly and attentive.
Big shout out to Nicol, Orea and Higinio, Raul, Oliver at the beach as well as all the other restaurant staff as they were all brilliant.
The entertainment team worked tirelessly and kept everyone engaged at the main pool, with activities for everyone.
The kids club was also so clean and probably one of the nicest ones we have seen with daily activities that you can drop into when needed - this was located right within the kids pool area which itself was lovely. Kavime at the kids club was so friendly and great with the kids.
We all really enjoyed our time here and would recommend the resort to anyone coming to Cancun!

This resort surpassed my expectations in most areas of consideration.

The resort was clean and well managed, with an easy check-in process upon arrival. The 3 bedroom villa that we had was surprisingly spacious, and the beds were comfortable, which made it enjoyable for the 6 of us traveling. Rooms were cleaned each day promptly and the fridge was well stocked. The facilities all around the resort (front lobby, restaurants, pools, beach, and accommodations) were clean and we had no issues with anything. The beach was especially nice as it was crystal clear and blue when we traveled (November) with no seaweed piled up on the shore or floating on the water.

The vast majority of the staff that we interacted with were friendly, respectful, and happy to help whenever we needed anything or had questions. Most were also quite fluent in English which also made communicating easy. There were a few that really made our trip a memorable time, including Jorge, Josafat, Rodrigo, and Kenny. Really happy with the service at this resort, especially from those gentlemen. All of them are hard workers and we appreciated their service.

The food tasted fresh at all of the restaurants we tried, including the general buffet. Aside from the Oriental night at the buffet which we found subpar, the rest of the food was enjoyable and we enjoyed the variety offered. Reservations for restaurants filled quickly each day starting at 9, but was easy to do since it was all online. Although there were only 3 restaurants outside of the buffet, they were done well and was sufficient for our 5-day stay.

The one area where the resort lacked in in my opinion was the daily and nightly entertainment. There was a very limited amount of activities and events that the resort hosted. As such, we found it to be somewhat limiting as there wasn’t much to do outside of the usual activities (eating, drinking, and enjoying the water). We supplemented with excursions outside of the resort to break the monotony, but if staying only at the resort it might get old for some people.

Overall, this was definitely one of the best resort experiences I’ve had thus far. Would be happy to return in the future if there’s another opportunity to visit Cancun!

Hello , excellent service, cleanliness , room pools bars and restaurants, reservations in themed dinners immediately without queues or waits , by late flight , we were accommodated in room with ocean view of 10 , restocking frigo bar without fail in room!! Down one point for accessibility to the beach although it is very good but has 5 impeccable stairs and ramps, but tired and the beach met a very dangerous ravine in the water that issued access to the water! All officials of 10 but a special mention for Victor restore alive Mexico of tacos!! Thanks, Rafael and Lilian.

My family and I stayed at Wyndham Grand Cancun Resort & Villas - All-Inclusive for four nights, and the experience was a mix of highs and lows.

The Good:
* The check-in process was smooth, and I appreciated the staff accommodating my request for a room on a top floor. The Superior Ocean-View Room was clean, well-maintained, and featured stunning ocean views from the patio—truly worth the extra cost. The mini-fridge, stocked with water, sodas, and beers, was a thoughtful touch.
* While the buffet breakfast and dinner at La Paloma were average, the à la carte dinner at La Piña was exceptional. Note that reservations are required for certain restaurants, including La Piña, and can be made via the hotel’s mobile app (available on both Apple and Google stores).
* The spa services were outstanding and provided a relaxing, rejuvenating experience.

The Disappointments:
* Guests in the adjacent room were loud late into the night, disrupting our sleep. Despite notifying the front desk, the issue remained unresolved, detracting from the overall relaxation.
* Room service was inconsistent. For example, replacing a broken iron box required multiple calls and a visit to the front desk. Additionally, the mini-fridge has a daily limit for water bottles, and requesting more incurs a $5 charge for four bottles—a surprising policy for an all-inclusive resort.
* This was the most significant downside of our stay. On the third day, I suffered a deep, inch-long cut on my left toe due to a broken tile in the pool near the Da Vinci restaurant and Jacuzzi. This incident forced us to cancel planned activities and revealed additional maintenance issues, such as slimy algae on the pool walls. Although the staff promptly provided first aid and additional care, such incidents should not occur in a well-maintained resort.

Final Thoughts:
The resort excels in areas like breathtaking views, spa services, and courteous staff. However, significant maintenance issues and service inconsistencies undermined the overall experience. The injury I sustained was particularly disappointing, as it disrupted our plans and could have been avoided with better upkeep.

For potential visitors, I recommend being cautious about the pool areas and setting realistic expectations regarding noise levels and service consistency. With improved maintenance and attention to detail, this property could deliver a truly exceptional vacation experience.

Those 4.5 stars you see for are either fake or really old.

Pros: The service staff are all great with a smile and happy to help.

Cons: The property throughout is very dated and in many places, you can see cracks in the buildings and actual pieces of cement from the balconies that had fallen out, whether it was next to the pool or visible on the red roof tiles.

The food is very, very mediocre at best. Think college dorm food and take it a few notches down. There's a sushi bar that is next to the pool and the guy making the sushi is not wearing gloves and it's hot and humid outside - so you get sweaty sushi rolls. The Italian restaurant Davinci serves you a chicken piccata that is boiled - not pan fired, cooked in an oven, but boiled!! There's a restaurant on the beach, and the view and feel are amazing. But pack some patience when you go there, as the food takes over 45 minutes to be served. Not because it is busy, but the entire resort is under staffed.

Lastly, the resort is trying to be green and reusing the same plastic cups for all drinks served at the pool or beach. I applaud this effort because they even go out of the way to serve your drink without a plastic or paper straw. BUT, if you go to the bar and see bartenders cleaning those cups, you will never order another drink. The cups are washed by a quick dunk in the bar sink and it goes in the clean pile. Not faulting the bartender, that's a management issue that requires more staff on hand and better training.

Wyndham Corporate REALLY needs to take a look at this place and fix it up, instead of trying to squeeze more juice out of a dried prune.

Much as I want to leave less than 3 stars but I will not. This is my 4th trip to Cancun and each trip I tend to stay at different hotel. However, this time was a total disappointment. I thought Wyndham is a brand name, what could be wrong even thou it took over this hotel previous known as Omni Cancun but hell, I was wrong. My booking was done in July 11, 2023 thru Travelocity for 5 days stay beginning October 22nd, 2023. They did not mention anything about the hotel will or is going thru renovation, no notification of any kind, even we arrived and checked into hotel, no verbal warning or note. We found out the constant drillings, banging, and noises through out the day. When complained to front desk, the attitude was “we apologize for the inconvenience!”, bad PR if you ask me. There are always room for improvement, other disappointments I should mentioned here with the hope that hotel management and its leadership should acknowledge and travelers should be aware:
1. No food/snack serve at the pool, jacuzzi, and beach areas. Unbelievable! None of the 3 hotels (Dreams, Live Aqua, Paradisus) I previously stayed did this. Beer and drinks serve on plastic cups at pool/spa and beach while other hotels would give you a bucket of beer (cans) filled with ice and you can order food/snacks to munch on.

2. Pool/Spa only access at 11:00am to 7:00pm, also access to beach area to close early. I have never seen this kind of curfew on any resort before.

3. Even thou the hotel listed 6 restaurants but 2 by the pool area are only open on selected days and only few hours each day and 2 are only serve diner (La Vista & Da Vinci) with reservations required. The remaining 2 (La Paloma & Pina Colada) serve breakfast & lunch buffet, food is so so with average variety of selection and limited on the menu. There are hidden items available only when asked such as bacon, tabasco sauce, etc.

4. Only one kind of beer served exclusively and that is Corona, and on draft only, cans available in the room. No international beers. Liquor is limited to certain brands.

5. In room, some towels smell bad like mildew, like they may have been taken out of the dryer prematurely and folded or may have washer with less detergent, where is QA/QC?. The room gets cleaning every 2 days, be sure to leave some tips, some of my friends who traveled with us thinking to leave tips by the end of their stays instead on the cleaning day did not get their room clean properly.
Other than that, the staffs are friendly and helpful. Of course, a little tips get you go long way since Cancun is suffering inflation just like here in the U.S.

Happy travel to everyone, life is short.

We had so many issues here. We stayed 4 nights in a villa and our room never got cleaned until our 4th day (last full day). Immediately after the room was cleaned, a group of random construction workers worked on our room all day, while we were still in the room. They left a trail of dried mud and concrete. Nobody asked us for permission or anything. My 10 month old baby needs to take his naps and they were very loud and noisy.

Our room toilet only flushed sometimes. The flush button didn't always work. I called several times to fix this and nobody ever came. I waited, and waited, and waited.

The room floors felt filthy and left our feet black. We all had to wear sandals in the room.

We were promised a cabana at the beach and $140 spa credit if we sat and listened to a 90 minute presentation by the Caracol travel club to try to sell us a club membership. Caracol club was extremely pushy and rude when I continuously and firmly said NO. I had to say no to 7 different people before they let me go. They advertised the meeting as 90 minutes if I didn't have questions but it took well over 2 hours and I didn't ask a single question. One of the salesman acted like he was offended by my wife saying no to him which is a rude tactic itself. We were promised certain credits after the Caracol club meeting - $140 worth of spa credit. After going to the spa, they refused to accept most of it and they said they would only take $100 worth of credit but will use it as $80 credit (how does this make sense), leaving me a balance of $75. I wouldn't have wasted my day talking to Caracol people in the first place.

I called room service at 9pm and was told I would get the food in 20-30 minutes. The food didn't arrive until 11pm and I was already asleep.

The premium lobster tail (costs $70) was very dry and I ended up just eating a free steak instead.

The restaurants are a pain just to get reservations.

There are signs along the pool area that say do not reserve your seat and don't leave stuff unattended for over 30 minutes or you will lose your seat. My family of 5 sat on a single chair for 2 hours while all other chairs were covered with towels. I asked the staff to remove a couple towels and they refused, even though the signs said otherwise. If this was the case, I would have just reserved a chair myself.

I only give this resort a 1 out of 10 because the beach was beautiful.

Please, do not stay here

Very bad service in general, there are preferences in the service, the desire to tip in dollars is too noticeable (it is understandable and if I feel well cared for I give it) but it should not be so obvious. We found used dental floss the day we got to the room. We literally had to beg, call and go to the lobby to have our room cleaned even if we signed and requested daily cleaning because we have a baby (they only cleaned two of the 6 days I was there). Terrible food, pineapple and Da Vinci restaurants with terrible food. The options for lunch are mostly junk food (pizza, sandwich, hamburger or taco) and a pineapple restaurant that is fatal. I would not return and do not recommend it. I appreciate the location, the beach and the breakfast buffet.

Had a fantastic stay made better by the hotel staff. Huge plaudits to Orlando at the lobby bar, Martin and gil at the bar in La Vista, Antonio at kukus bar and Andrea at the sushi bar. These fantastic people are a huge asset to Grand Wyndham Cancun. Look after them and they’ll look after you.

Food;

The A la carte restaurants offered quality food and service, especially the Pina grill and La vista. If you love meat check out La vista. The buffet was a big disappointment, it offered sufficient choice at breakfast - however at dinner the options were extremely limited.

Rooms;

Rooms were a good size and possessed everything that was needed. The 14th floor rooms view wasn’t as good as higher up, therefore if you have a choice always opt for a higher up room.

Grounds;
The hotel grounds are well maintained and kept clean due to the very pleasant staff. The beach is always clean and there are sufficient sun loungers.

Highlight of the trip was Kukus bar, it offers spectacular views whilst in a jacuzzi - spent a large party of the holiday here. Antonio is a top class server and is always ready to provide the best service he can. Look after him!

Overall, grand Wyndham Cancun provided a brilliant stay and had everything we looked for.

Check in was extremely frustrating. The price for an upgraded ocean front room kept changing. We agreed to pay $280 more only to learn our “upgraded” room was very old with a broken vanity, a door that wouldn’t lock, and definitely not clean (blood on the sheets). It took us 2 days to get an acceptable room.
We mailed manager Adrian before and during our vacation. We did not receive a response yet the front desk acknowledged our emails were received.
House cleaning is every other day and fridge was only stocked once all week despite multiple calls and requests to the front desk.
The rest of the staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Although, service was pretty slow due to lack of staff. We observed one staff person trying to take care of an entire pool area by themself. They certainly work hard.
Some of our favorites were Francisco at Kuku’s, Orlando in the lobby bar and Oliver at DaVinci’s.
Food was mediocre. Buffet food was never hot but the staff made up for that with their great service.
We have been to Cancun about ten times and have loved all the resorts prior to Wyndham.
We met a lot of great people that helped make our vacation fun! Also, you can’t really go wrong on the Cancun beaches.
On our last day we saw some type of a large rat roaming the property and it even swam in the upper pool.
