I spent ages looking for a hotel in cancun with more positive reviews than negative. As a couple, we settled on the Oleo which turned out to be a good choice. I was happy to learn the hotel is situated at the bottom end of the hotel zone, which is much nicer than towards the nightlife area. The private beach was very well looked after and there was a friendly lifeguard each day The best compliment for the Oleo was the staff members. I've never experienced such polite and friend staff at any hotel. They really could not do anything more for you. I had read someone complaining about the food here, let me break it down for you. Breakfast was more than adequate. Fresh fruit, cereals, hot food, fresh eggs cooked how you like... What more does anyone want? The pool has a snack bar with adequate items to carry you over to tea. They have two other restaurants that are very nice and you don't have to book. The all inclusive drinks are perfectly fine and the bar staff often fill your glass and even walk around the pool / beach taking orders. Now the BUY part.... Which really isn't that bad We had to move rooms as soon as we arrived. The rooms are very spacious and clean, but they are not a true reflection as the pictures. The pictures show immaculate rooms that look brand new. In reality they do need touching up. Our 1st room had an exposed plug hole with people hair, toothpaste spit and other delightful contents exposed. The sliding door didn't close properly and the wind whistled. The second room was an improvement but again looked tired. I think the rooms need panting and the bathrooms renovated. The showed doors open out so once you've showed all the water is pushed to the middle of the bathroom floor. Very strange. There isn't much evening entertainment which we weren't very fussed about.... However..... There is no where at all the enjoy an evening drink other than the 'lobby bar' which is more like a hotel reception area, no atmosphere, it's freezing from the AC and it just feels weird. The bar is also only open till 1030pm which is odd There isn't anywhere outside where you can sit on an evening to relax and have drinks....this I think is the main let down to the hotel. There is a great coffee bar like Starbucks which drinks are included as part of the all inclusive... However..... It was closed on Sunday and today (Tuesday) its shut for a few random hours without explanation One other strange observation... No ice cream?! I've never been to an all inclusive where they don't have ice cream day or night We have zero regrets booking the Oleo. Yes there are some minor points that could be fixed, but all in all this is a great hotel. If you're worried about covid then you should even be going on holiday, but if you want to know... I didn't see one staff members nose or face... Not once. Everyone wore masks whilst working.

My boyfriend and I came for the holiday and spent 4 days here. The room was very spacious. We booked the king sized bed room and it was very very big room. Over all I noticed the wait staff was very very professional. We are from Dallas Texas and we are used to professional staff. But at this place the wait staff is similar to a fine dining- five star restaurant. They give you 5 star experience for the price of nothing! They are so great. There were 3 restaurants at this place (all 3 were included in your stay cost). The best one was the Mexican restaurant called azul! Juan and his colleagues took amazing care of us. It will be such a memorable trip!! The bartenders also know all the drinks! They will make you whatever drink you ask for and they give you pretty strong drinks!

Overall had a fantastic 5-day stay in Óleo. Especially loved the Restaurante Azul. The food was so good and our waiter Juan was so friendly and nice that we just kept coming back to the hotel to eat the food instead of exploring other options outside the hotel. Juan really went the extra mile to make sure we were well taken care of. We will certainly miss Óleo and will definitely be back here the next time too.

Had the most enjoyable 10 days here. All staff are absolutely amazing and couldn’t fault them at all! Especially the breakfast team! Always plenty of fresh food on offer and one can get anything they want on request. 24 hour room service too. Service around pool and on the beach second to none! If I wanted to be really picky, would say that hotel entertainment wasn’t up to much but think that may have been due to covid restrictions. Rooms were exceptionally clean with daily service. Was a little surprised to discover that there wasn’t a laundry service though. Apart from this, found nothing to complain about.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 days. It was clean and the staff was very friendly, especially like to mention Elizabeth in Restaurant Azul pm. The food was great, there’s choice of 3 restaurants. Excellent room service too. Very impressed with precautions they took regarding spreading of Covid. Will go there again.
