What a shame it is how the Mexicans managing this place want to ruin the tourists' experience at the beach! What a beautiful beach there is to enjoy at Solymar...the sign posted says it is a public beach and that you swim at your own risk...so what the hell is the deal with the lifeguard??? They only let you swim... More

The place caters to middle class Mexican families and this is evident from the low standards of food, room decor, cleanliness and state of repair. If you are one of the few unlucky western guests, the staff (unhelpful and not able to speak English) will be so pushy for tips that you'll feel like you are dealing with street beggars.... More

My Fiance and I were going to check in to the Grand Oasis Sens the day after our trip so figured we would stay next door at the Hotel Solymar. The first impression was extremely GLOOMY, DARK, and MOLDY. The white sofas in the main waiting area had stains on it, it did not give a welcoming impression at all.... More

When we arrived, everything was ready for us and because we were celebrating a 21st and 50th birthday, we were treated like royalty, literally. Amazing views, cool pool even though it was mid summer, friendly staff and lots little holes in the walls (or ditches) within walking distance with local prices.

We had an excellent stay at Solymar Resort. This place is located right on the beach. It's a bus ride away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The buses run all day and night every 5 minutes. It was nice to be away from all the crowds. Our condo was clean, roomy, had a nice balcony and kitchen. I... More

Our experience was awesome good, includung the honesty of the room service lady, security and every single employee. There are no words for describing how great was for my wife and I to stay here for a week. However, there is no words for descibing how bad they made us to feel in the bar near to the beach each... Not many of the staff understood or spoke English, unable to suggest anywhere to eat or drink other than their own very limited buffet. Rock hard beds, no padding on pool chairs, but rooms were a good size. Pool is lovely, If not all inclusive it makes ordering and food and drinks a challenge!

It is a amazing hotel, all staff are very friendly and nice. Room was lovely, however it is very loud until about 10pm with pool bar music and people yelling. Service at the beach restaurant was OK. Pool area nice. Breakfast buffet needs improvement. Also the room numbering and levels was very confusing at first i felt i was lost... More

The front desk staff are the least helpful people I know. I was not impressed by the lack of hospitality. The pool is small, so get there early. The drinks at the pool bar are watered down, and leave much to be desired. Spend the extra bucks, and get further north in the hotel zone. We will not be staying... More
