This was the second time we stayed over Christmas/New Year for a month. What a difference a year makes! We felt that a pandemic getaway could be just as safe as staying home. The hotel covid protocols were very effective and other guests seemed to be cognizant of their responsibilities in this regard. As usual, the staff is what stands out when you visit here. From Fredi meeting you on arrival, to Amaranta at the front desk making sure you get the accommodations you expect. The room was clean, comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job. Thanks to the breakfast crew of Enrique, Luis, Jesus, and Gustavo for being there for what is arguably the most important meal of the day. During the day, find Alejandro at the beach bar. He'll take care of you. The beach here is the absolute best around. In the evening, Eleazar and his sidekick Abdias do a fantastic job of keeping your thirst at bay in the Epicentro lobby bar. We were there every night as this hotel trends to the more quiet side after the sun goes down. So, if you are looking for reasonably priced accomodations with a high level of service in a great location, this is your place!…
Stayed here after staying 4 days at the Hard Rock with all inclusive. Enjoyed drinking and eating as much as we could whil there, but decided to come here so we could justify leaving the hotel and explore Playa Del Carmen and Xcaret. This hotel appeared to be following strict covid guidlines, which was great. I felt safe here. They had a mask on policy for workers AND guest while in the hotel lobby which other hotels did not enforce at all. At the the pool and beach it was not required. Sanitizer everywhere!! The restaurant had all the dinner ware individually wrapped. The pool towels were wrapped in plastic. It just felt soo sanitary. I travel with my girlfriend and after spending 4 days at the Hard Rock, which is more a low key party hotel, it was a nice break to come to the Presidente. The vibe was waay more chill and felt very romantic. The food at the restaurants and pool/beach service was very good. Even on the days we spent all day eating and drinking at the hotel ala carte, it was still much cheaper staying here than an all inclusive. The hotel is older, and the design shows, i believe it's one of the original hotels built in the 70's. The room have been remodeled. The best part of the hotel is the beach. without a doubt the best beach location on the hotel zone. The water is very calm and can walkout for nearly 100 yards waist deep. There was absolutly no seaweed on the beach, unlike the rough sea and all the seaweed at the Hard Rock. If planning on doing activities outside a resort, this hotel ala carte is a great place to stay.…
When I came to the realization that the United States was the least safe place, COVID-wise, I decided to take a trip and Cancun seemed like a good option. I can’t say enough good things about the InterContinental and its covid protocol. Everyone was wearing masks; there was hand sanitizer in many, many places; when a guest left the hotel, the room was cleaned and not occupied for another 72 hours, and articles like towels and silverware were sanitized and wrapped. Before I returned to NYS I needed a negative covid test and the medic came to my room. I enjoyed my stay so much I stayed home one week to do laundry and catch up on thing and returned for another two weeks. The staff was incredibly helpful. I even saw some of the waitstaff run to provide service!!!
I have been coming to Cancun since 87 and have always loved the El Presidente- This year my family choose to stay at the Rui Cancun- totally mistake and already wrote a review for them. Thank goodness El Presidente had 3 rooms for us! No comparison! Staff was gracious hotel was CLEAN! and of course the hotel has the beach beach in Cancun!! Property was covid friendly and the huge pool aera makes it easy to spread ou. they also were not trying to pack the hotel! - I never felt unsafe and breakfast was served behind the glass very organized fresh and clean! Bedrooms are nicely appointed and have duvets! I was called twice in the room dfrom staff to make sure everything was great!
Beautiful beach which chairs, umbrellas and waiters looking after you, for a great experience. The room was comfortable and the beds were very, very good, for a full night rest. They had a very good and equipped gym (that was hard to use due to pandemia limitations). Breakfast could have been better. There is a lot of room for improvement here.
