We thought all was great until the last night. We had to wake up at 4 am the next morning and went to our room at 9:30 pm. Loud music was coming from just outside where there seemed to be a party. Even pigs turning on a stick ! Around and above us there must have been 100 other rooms facing the music. We thought it would end by 10 but it did not. We called the manager Diana 3 times and she just blew us off saying the only thing she could do is change our room. Yes sure, go and pack at 10:30 pm and move rooms- would you ? We called the police who never came. We could not sleep until 12:30 am We’ve never seen such insolence and disregard for peace & quiet at a hotel. Certainly not going back.

I'm a fan and member of the IHG InterContinental collection of hotels. The Presidente InterContinental lived up to the standard I have come to expect from IHG. The hotel is situated on the nicest beach in Cancun. I contacted the hotel Director Guillermo Valencia prior to my stay to inquire about the safety precautions the hotel was taking in light of the pandemic. I am pleased to report that my family and I felt very comfortable our entire stay. All the employees wore face masks and I observed staff members constantly cleaning and sanitizing. The lounge chairs by both pools and the beach were nicely spaced so as to avoid close contact with other guests. I booked 3 rooms and all 3 rooms overlooked the ocean which was as calm as it was rich in beautiful hues of light and dark blue. My family spent most of the time on the hotel grounds at the beautiful beach. We enjoyed our evenings at the outdoor bar. Service on the beach and the outdoor bar was outstanding. I will point out our server on the beach (Freddy) was attentive to all our needs and I would also point out that the outdoor bartender Gonzalo was phenomenal and the service was great. The hotel offers water activities. We went jet skiing, banana boating and Kayaking. As an FYI, the first 30 minutes of kayaking is free. Overall our stay was great and I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for serenity, peace and quite and for some relaxing fun in the sun. I plan to stay here again. Thank you Presidente for a magnificent family vacation!

My mum and I visited in mid-May. We were delighted with our choice. This hotel is beautiful and pristine with two pools and its own private beach with turquoise ocean and white sand. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly from the doormen, Front desk, to the breakfast service team, bar and restaurant staff. I was in contact with Belgica from the travel agency within the hotel prior to and throughout our stay. She was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. She arranged our airport transfers and recommended and booked several tours for us visiting ancient Mayan ruins, along with suggesting many other options. She was so helpful when we had to reschedule some of our plans and stayed in contact with us the whole time we were at the hotel. Thank you for everything Belgica! We really enjoyed the service and food at the Cap Restaurant within the hotel. This is where we met the Semelier Emanuel. He gave us some wonderful suggestions for some delicious wines and was always very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back to this beautiful hotel and area any time!

On arrival my Diamond Elite statues was recognised. Eduardo who checked me in  apologised for not being able to offer an upgrade as I have already book the highest room available and told me he would deposit 10,000 bonus points into my account. Checked out 6 days ago and no bonus points showing as of yet, i won't hold my breath out for them to be credited. Earned points for stay were credited within 2 days. We stayed in a club terraced sea view room, room was clean and well presented on entering. The club lounge was fairly large with plenty of indoor and outside seating. Limited choice for breakfast but we alternated with main restaurant as we had booked a stay longer and save  package which included daily breakfast. Evening drinks offered a good variety and small selection of canapés. Miguel who worked within the club lounge was fantastic and a credit to the hotel. Always ensuring we had everything we needed. We found all staff were polite and very helpful and would go out of their way to ensure our stay was how we expected. Lovely beach and pool areas with plenty of sun beds. Free non powered water sports available. We were even given coaching in paddle boarding as it was something we wanted to try but never done before. Wasn't long before we were standing. Hotel was in a perfect location, quite area but not far to walk to the lively night life and shops. Bus stop just outside the hotel for getting up or down the strip, bargin at $1 a trip, any distance. We stayed for 14 nights and enjoyed every minute. We'll done Presidente Intercontinental. Will not hesitate to recommend.

This was the perfect place to finish our tour of Mexico. After being on the road and travelling fast paced for two weeks it was nice to relax on the private beach away from the hustle and bustle of Cancún. The facilities at the hotel are amazing, boasting a gym, spa, swimming pools and multiple restaurants. The hotel also offered a range of tours and activities, which seemed to be reasonably priced. Lastly, the view from our room overlooking the stunning Caribbean Sea offered the best way to wake up and start the day.

Francisco and Gonzalo at the bar by the pool were excellent. They are the sole reason I am rating 5 stars. They are hands down the best employees at this location and made our experience great and very personable. Shout out to you both Francisco and Gonzalo! Great employees and great people.

We visited this hotel one year ago. I had prepaid one night online on a very well known website. It was only one night because we were meeting the rest of our group the next day and traveling to Playa del carmen together. When I got to checkin my reservation "had been canceled". I asked why and they said they had no idea but I had no reservation. All they could do was offer the best immediate rate they could and it was more than double what I had already paid. I agreed but requested to see a document of the canceled reservation. They said they couldn't provide it then but the next day during checkout they would be more than happy. The next day during checkout I asked for the document regarding my canceled reservation and they said they didn't have any information of a canceled reservation. They couldn't even provide me with a document they showed me the day before of the rate in USD but only in pesos. I needed all those documents to ask the website for compensation as I was not happy about paying 3x the value for one night (original online payment + 2x "best rate" at front desk). At the end of the day they just came up with lame excuses. I got the invoice and emailed the Presidente hotel requesting information that proved my original reservation had been canceled to no avail. The website also asked the hotel about this but in 2 months never got a reply. They (website) did refund me on the extra I paid as they never found any canceled reservation and told me they would continue to try to reach the hotel. One whole year later still with no reply about being ripped off in a hotel chain you would NEVER expect this to happen and with them ignoring your emails I tell you to stay AWAY from this hotel. Same thing happened to me on that trip with tours online and rental cars.... they make up stories about not being able to honor your online reservation or it being canceled to be able to charge you more as you are there and avoid third party fees. Be VERY careful!

Few quibbles with the hotel itself. The lobby is huge and lovely. The staff is friendly and gracious and go out of their way to help. The huge pool area includes a large pool (no deep water) and a smaller pool. The beach is very wide at this point with many palapas to sit in the shade and waiters attending from Le Cap beach bar. A major problem at this time of year is that despite sugary sand and placid water, the water is filled with brown, foul-smelling seaweed and is virtually unswimmable. The hotel does not appear to take any action to control it at its beach. My room was spacious with large windows and a great view. The room had ample storage, good lighting, and a great shower with a powerful rain head that I loved. The room had a safe and a mini-refrigerator. The food was excellent and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. Avoid sitting at the edges of the seating area where aggressive birds swoop in and take food off your plate. The hotel employs a falconer who roams around the seating area to scare away birds, with modest success. The location of the hotel is about a mile from "downtown" Cancun Hotel Zone which thumps with loud music and raucous touristy attractions. The stretch closer to the hotel is not attractive and does not have many restaurants. Overall, the InterContinental Presidente is a lovely hotel. Just a shame about the seaweed ruining the beach. To be fair, it's a problem (due to warming sea temperatures and agricultural runoff pollution) all across the Caribbean, especially in the Spring.

The room we had was great. Put up the extra $60 and get an ocean view, you won't regret it. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Staff was helpful. Good location, 15 minute walk from restaurants and flea market. Very good experience would recommend without reservation.

Dated rooms, cold ambiance and very poor facilities. The condition of the bathrooms and bathtubs was a real shock. Breakfast not included in room rate. For the brand of this hotel, I was expecting a much superior experience. Will avoid IHG properties going forward.
