As travelers that look for smaller, intimate boutique hotels, my girlfriend and I were wonderfully surprised at how great the Kempinski Cancun turned out. One can read reviews on Tripadvisor and Google but I think all take it with a grain of salt. In this case the positive reviews are well warranted as we found out on a daily basis. From the moment we checked in with Daniel at the front desk, we started to experience the level of service that you would expect from a five star hotel. We were upgraded to a corner suite which was decorated with balloons!! ( We were celebrating an anniversary) The room was lovely although the décor might be a bit bland, however as the week continued we found the housekeepers, like the rest of the staff, were impeccable. Being beach lovers we positioned ourselves everyday at the edge of the water which was was maintained beautifully. Shout out to Edgar and Jorge as well as Javier and the rest of the staff at the Carib Beachfront restaurant. Great Service!! Nicholas the lifeguard was such a pleasure to talk to and he, like most of the staff members, have been working at this location for many years. Everyone’s attitude here’s is so welcoming and genuine that you really feel special. Obviously much credit has to be given to Aref, the General Manager, whose leadership and guidance have turned what was the old Ritz Carlton, into what should be one of the jewels of the Kempinski hotel empire. Although we ventured out for dinner almost every night, we found the food at the hotel to be the best of all the places we ate. The breakfast and lunches were delicious, well prepared and served in a very reasonable amount of time. The concierge service was very helpful as far as suggesting restaurants or activities in Cancun......check out the Jungle Tour Barracuda if you like speedboats and snorkeling. Big shout out to both Ruben and Antonio. In the evening, the lounge offered live music, which was just Ok, but the bartenders, especially Carlos made us feel right at home. Hope this helps!!!…
We’re still here as I write this Staying on Level 8 club access Pros: * Fabulous staff. Outstanding. So helpful and friendly from the maids to doormen and their co-workers in the club lounge. To highlight any staff in particular wouldn’t be fair to the others that we’ve had less dealings with purely due to circumstances * Such comfortable beds and pillows. Formerly Ritz Carlton and their beds are legendary. * The food in the club lounge is superb. Delicious, tasty and of an extremely high quality. It isn’t intended to double up as all inclusive for a cut price (as some seem to expect) but certainly is a very good breakfast and light lunch. Appetisers with cocktails and wine around 6pm and then out for dinner * Lovely stylish rooms with beautiful bathroom * El Fantino restaurant was outstanding as was The Club Grill. No shortage of waiters. It’s a great experience and thoughtful wine selection * Very near some very good restaurants outside eg Puerto Madero, Cenacolo and Crab House. Expect to pay around £30 or more for a main course alone and worth it * Beach - fantastic. The hotel is literally on the beach and sea front rooms offer an amazing view Cons: The pool and pool area are a little dated but that may change in time given a new management It’s certainly not a deal breaker and we would definitely return here…
My husband and I stayed with the Kempinski Grand Hotel in Cancun for 7 nights on a vacation trip. Our suite was on the 8th floor, seafront, with two bathrooms, with a large, beautiful dressing room. Upon arriving, I immediately regretted not bringing camera equipment because this hotel is a PALACE!!! Every aspect…from the crown molding, stairwells, and oh! the art…(carefully curated paintings to sculptures), flowers, linens and such a pleasing calm color palate (throughout the hotel) …All visually breath-taking! The food was simply excellent. Whether we dined on the 8th floor, room service, or an evening in Club Grill with live music (and a very extensive wine list(😍)), we actually never left the property because we were totally content. The beach was both beautiful and an adventure with cabanas and a very attentive beach crew. The best part of our vacation? The staff! Our maid (Yadira) kept our room immaculate and taught us some Spanish as she worked. (She kept me giggling.) Everyone seemed to remember our name! Notably, the hotel manager was there everyday talking to us and others,(in various languages), making sure everything was going smoothly. Quality is never an accident. We stayed on the concierge level, and every concierge was top notch- especially Evelin, who seemed to anticipate every request before I asked, with a warm smile. Her encyclopedic knowledge of everything Kempinski and Cancun was impressive. She is exceptional and …to me - she represents this 5 Star Hotel! This was an unusual experience because every employee we met seemed to be “on message,” carrying forward the mission of the hotel with enthusiasm and smiles. (No eye rolls and nothing was ever forgotten) I used to think no hotel could surpass the NYC(pre-9-11-2001) Waldorf or the Drake in Chicago. Not anymore! I believe the Kempinski in Cancun is the *****BEST Five Star experience***** The whole staff, manager included, is what sets this hotel apart from all others. So Very Exceptional! I hope to visit again someday. Such great memories!…
I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Kempinski Cancun Hotel. The staff, especially Edgar and Ulises, were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. Ruben was also extremely helpful in planning my travel experiences and recommending the best local restaurants. The hotel itself was beautiful, with comfortable rooms and great amenities, including a fantastic spa. Overall, I highly recommend the Kempinski Cancun Hotel for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Cancun.
We have stayed at this property multiple times when it was a ritz Carlton. Decided to try it under the new management and stayed on the club level as we always did. The service and food offerings were superb. The interim GM is very visible and involved. The staff is superb and see very happy to do whatever you need. We were so spoiled we extended our stay. Can’t wait to return.
Over 5 stars. Better than the original Ritz. Service is excellent. Food is great. But service is phenomenal. From the bell boys to front desk. Exceptional. Beach is great. Stayed at Nuzic several month ago also a great hotel. But the beach and service is much better here.
This is the former Ritz-Carlton, and the European based Kempinski has kept the level of service identical. I have no negatives to write about. The list of positives is long, but I'll be brief: One of the world's great beaches, white sand, turquoise water. The pools date from the hotel's construction in the 1990's, but they do just fine. And, the pool water is warm. And, as has been stated in other reviews, the staff are unmatched in friendliness and professionalism. I've been fortunate to travel to 28 countries, and this hotel and its staff are the best I've experienced. A gem in the Western Caribbean. Chris W. Rochester, NY
This hotel used to be the Ritz Carlton, and we’ve stayed here many times. The Kempinski has kept everything the same, and I would say even approved improved upon it a bit. The ambience, the decor, the classical artwork throughout the hotel, and gorgeous marble are unrivaled. The staff is amazing and gracious. The hotel manager walks around daily to check in on everyone to see if we’re happy and if we need anything. The food is outstanding and the prices are very reasonable. Every room has a balcony, and we’ve watched the ocean day and night. This part of Cancun beaches doesn’t have the seaweed problem that you find further south…at the Waldorf Astoria seaweed was particularly gross.. I just love it here
The room we stayed in is so beautiful! The service and staff of the hotel is at the high level. Thank you for everything! I am delighted with the hotel and the service in the hotel. The friendliest waiters I have ever met in my life. I recommend it to the everyone.
I would recommend Kempinski Hotel Cancun to anyone who wants a top-notch vacation and service. The hotel has a beautiful beach that delights with its color. Not to mention food and cocktails. We will be back for sure.
