We stayed this hotel for a night. The room was big enough and clean but the bed was tiny for my husband(182cm).
Wi-Fi wasn’t working all the time when we were there, the lady at reception said “it’s not working for an hour” but end up all day until we checked out.
The credit card machine wasn’t working either, we had to pay by cash which was bit annoying but good value for a night.

Located near Mercado 28 shopping area, this hotel was a great asset to our two night trip to Cancun. We were interested in a safe, clean, economical place to sleep. The staff was friendly, our car was kept in a security guarded garage, and an adequate hot and cold buffet breakfast was free. Our room was the smallest I'd ever seen in my life but appeared very new, very modern and very clean. I would like to have had at least a self beside my bed to put my water and cell phone at night but the lack thereof wasn't a huge problem. My only true complaint of this hotel experience was the noisy mini-split air conditioner. The mini-splits in my home are much quieter. The hotel air only had the highest fan option, the only adjustment being a temperature control. Way too noisy for such a small room. All in all, for the value, I would book here again.

I regretfully have to say that I would not recommend staying @ Suites Gaby. The location is good, cleanliness is fine as are the facilities (good aircon, shower & warm water although the tv didn't work). However, the reason I can't recommend this hotel is that I had to pay for a $150 MXN (£6.50) fine for a 'soiled' towel! The only soiling on it was a small drop of blood from shaving & some everyday dirt that is visible when a white towel is used. I was not going to be given any new towels until I paid the 'fine'.
Also, the cheaper rooms seem to be near the stairwell which can get noisy as the sound proofing on the door is very poor (big gap between door & door-frame).

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It's close to the main bus station for the airport or other travel excursions. It's close to shops, restaurants, nightlife, and other local food vendors. The room was not the best as the TV didn't work and had cables all busting down the bottom. The shower only had cold water but if you ran it for 5mins it warmed up a bit. The toilet wouldn't flush and no fresh water was available. A man came up and fixed the TV and toilet but it was not a great first impression. The Hotel claimed to have a pool and shuttle available but that wasn't true. The pool is at another cation pretty far on the hotel zone plus you have to pay like any other person off the street can. The shuttle is a ca they call and you have to pay for that as well. There were two women at the front desk. One was great the other didn't care much at all and it showed.

Don't expect the welcoming committee. Most don't speak English and will not converse with you. There's no smile, no nothing. It's as if they want to be somewhere else.
First room, 109, air con didn't work. There is also no bedside table so I had to put my glasses or water on the floor or bed. Was moved to 209, the bathroom faucet was completely loose and when you turned it on it blasted the water everywhere.
This will be my last stay at this hotel.

Stayed for about 4 days and were pleasently surprised by this hotel. We were searching for a budget hotel in Cancun, away from the beaches, and this one surpassed all our expectations.

Oscar in the reception was super friendly and helpful. Ready to help with every idea that popped into our heads; a year later I still smile when I think about how eager he was to help. If you read this - thank you!

If you are looking for a simple place in-town this hotel should do the trick

This hotel is NOT for anyone coming to Cancun for leisure and trying to save money by staying downtown. The location of this hotel is bad. It's a 15 min walk just to get to the bus stop taking you to the beaches...There are many hotels on the bus route and downtown for cheaper which are better options. This hotel is suited to people on business and need a place for a night or two. Wireless DOES NOT work even though they said it does...they gave me a cable but had to move my bed so it reached....The good thing is that it is very clean, new, awesome bathrooms....with big shower head. Slept well, it's quiet. I give this a 2/5 because I expected a better location for tourists. If I was a business man I guess I would be rating it higher.

Looking for a place far away from the madding tourist crowds, where it is possible to mingle with locals, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, great wi-fi, a modern building? And are you happy to stay in a hotel without carpets on the floor, a seaside view or a replica of a painting on the wall? Then stop looking - this is what you need. It's got a couple of nice restaurants close by and Mercado 28 around the corner. I was very pleased to stay in this hotel and would definitely come back!

This very clean hotel with newly renovated bathrooms was perfect for our limited budget and need to be close to the ADO downtown bus station. It was recommended by 2 of our friends who unknown to each other, also stay at this hotel. We had excellent internet connection in our room, a good sleep in a comfortable bed despite a noisy air conditioner, and enjoyed a tasty breakfast with coffee. The receptionist spoke some English and was very helpful with every request we had. Every other staff person we encountered was equally welcoming. Upon arrival we were given a coupon for one drink each at the restaurant La Parilla which we easily walked to. We will stay at this hotel again when next visiting Cancun.

We stayed one night here as an overnight between our flight and our bus the next day. It was perfect for that because:

1 - it's a small, basic room that's clean and recently updated
2 - has a safe
3 - super close to walkable food options and oxxos (even vegetarian and vegan options can be found a few blocks away at 100% Natural)
4 - super close to the really big market area when you can walk around to little stores and stands for shopping/art/souvenirs/food
5 - about 6(?) blocks to the ADO bus station (long distance bus & ferry)
6 - they serve a full breakfast menu with vegetarian options (some of the best chilequiles i've had so far)

Other notes: there is AC (we did not use it). Staff was friendly, though it took a little work to have someone come help us with the safe error code. The wifi was strong (4-5 mbps), but it disconnected and reconnected frequently - every other minute or so. The hotel is echo-y and has thin walls. Be prepped with earplugs if it suits you.

If i were looking for a vacation spot (like a week or so), this place wouldn't be my choice. But as an overnight while traveling, this place is really great.

No, definitely no swimming pool. The swimming pool on the hotel's website belongs to the Beach Club which is on the coast and not on the hotel site.
