We have traveled to the Grand for many year, but twice this year, once in March, coming home when Covid was just hitting the USA and then again in October, both times for 3 weeks. The cleaning crew at this resort was cleaning all the time, we always felt safe as far as Covid went. The reason we return to The Grand at the Moon Palace is because of the wonderful staff that makes us feel like family starting with the one that makes all our reservations for us before we even get there, our DC Alejandra V. We do not have to worry about a thing, we have our dinners, spa, golf everything is ready for us they whole trip. Fernando our pool DC at the Wellness pool is very friendly and outgoing. Butlers Rodrigo and Kenya took very good care of us our whole trip, especially during the hurricane!! Jose Meneses at the Grand Lobby bar can not be more gracious and outstanding. He goes out of his way to make special drinks naming them after our Granddaughters. We look for Miguel Can, Miguel Aguilera, Elana, bartender Gamilio, We love the resort, but we really really love the people that work there, they make it very special for us.

Last night here at The Grand, and it was a great vacation. 1) Ernesto at JC Steakhouse was amazing! 2) Santiago at Jade was an all-star! 3) Natali in the spa is a goddess & has magic hands and elbows. 4) 99% of the staff are incredibly friendly, hospitable and so accommodating. 5) The best bartenders on the entire resort were McGiver & Adolfo at the Cusco pool (closer to The Grill). Those guys went out of their way for the guests, and remembered many of their drinks. 6) Housekeeping are the unsung heroes, our room was always immaculate, as were the grounds. 7) Tavola: Otavia Emilia pizza, Ravioli Sardinia, and the olive loaf bread were my favorites. 😎 Loved the fresh pita bread and Kalamata olives at Habibi. 9) Macaroons, Mojitos & mudslides are life. 10) The Playroom, Wired Lounge and Waterpark are great if you’re traveling with teenagers. I’m not gonna say it was perfect, there were a few blips on the radar, but very few over eight days. And certainly nothing that was worth mentioning. We have loved every minute of our vacation! Oh, and we did the Dream Art photoshoot. Not gonna lie, it was expensive, but so worth it. Our kids are 17 and 13, so smiles don’t come easily when a camera is out. Book this vacation and know you’re going to have a blast!

I traveled during COVID and was very relieved by the safety measures the hotel had in place. Had a great time even with weather challenges (rain). Actually rather enjoyed a decreased level of occupancy . Everyone at the Grand enhances your stay, a few staff I would love to mention are Ramonado at Cusco who made our dinner more enjoyable. Our waiter at Cielito Lindo was Jesus who guided us through the menu and with his suggestions made our experience exceptional, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Travola is always a winner , Iran and Miguel are the BEST. The Caribbean restaurant is a hidden jewel, Israel the restaurant’s manager was kind enough to ask the chef (Carlos) if he would make us Paella and he agreed. Later that day we were treated to a special meal that was just fabulous. The Caribbean restaurant has great wait staff like Gustav and Jacqueline. Arturo at the grand buffet was great fun. The bottom line is every single staff will go out of there way to make your stay perfect and memorable.

We arrived a week before Thanksgiving and the hotel was fantastic - there was no crowd in restaurants, pools, theater, beaches and social distancing was well followed. But things went south during Thanksgiving. I guess part of reason is that they closed Nuzic and route all Nuzic bookings to Grand which makes Grand at more than 85% capacity during Thanksgiving week. As the result, everywhere is crowded and under staffed at Grand. Waiting time was more than 2 hours at restaurants, reservation system was malfunctioning, pools, lobby, bars are full of people. To us, we didn't have turn down service last night, which isn't a big deal, but when we come back from a day trip at 4:30pm today, we were shoked to see our room isn't cleaned (the clean room signal was on when we left). I wouldn't give 4 stars if the staffs were not making extra effort. Every staff here are friendly, professional and hard working and their efforts are being recognized and appreciated. But it feels like wrong decision was made by the hotel that overcrowded the Grand without proper staffing and enough room for social distancing.
