We stayed here for a night and weren't all that happy with it. The staff weren't very helpful and didn't provide much information when we asked about restaurants nearby or why the wifi wasn't working (it doesn't reach the rooms and is extremely slow even when right near the modem). When we came back from dinner in the town there... More

We were recommended to try del Doctor while searching for towns off the beaten path. Mahahual is totally worth the drive. Great beaches, small town feel. Las Cabanas is a few blocks off the main malecon so you are away from the crowds on days that cruise ships drop to fill up the town. They offer tiered accommodations from camp... More

Perfectly clean, newly renovated rooms for great price. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. We did not have reservation and arrived late at night, but the staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. We got great rooms for an excellent price. Its right next to a quiet beach, but restaurants, cafes are also in walking distance. Absolutely recommended.

We had our own room with a private bath for under $30 per night, low season. Very simply decorated but clean room. There is no drinking water in the room so bring your own. You can walk into town there, and parking is right there on the premises. Manager is friendly and only speaks a little English. Internet was out... More

We paid $40 for an extremely nice room that easily costs double closer into town. We did not have reservations, but saw the vacancy sign out front. The shower felt amazing and the bed and bathroom were very clean. They have 40 oz's of Sol available for 30 pesos as well as some other drinks. The walk to town is... More

I loved this place. I had room reservations, but It seems to also function a s a travel lodge. There is a vacancy-no vacancy sign and cars seem to arrive day and night looking for a place to stay. The staff is friendly and fun to chat with. There are cabanas but also regular type rooms. Comfortable bed, nice bathrooms,... More

A friend had recommended this place, and so we decided to stay. On their website it says that a double is 400 pesos a night. We made a reservation via email. However, upon arrival they attempted to charge us 550 MXN (about $11 USD more a night). I refused and quoted the 400 MXN on their website. The staff member... More

So as not to duplicate what I already wrote, here is my blog post about Mahahual and Las Cabanas Del Doctor. The bathroom was amazing. They have a small restaurant, cabanas, bigger rooms and lots of areas for camping. http://www.sanpedroscoop.com/2012/03/mahahual-almost-two-different-towns.html

I stayed a few...forget exactly, days at cabanas del doctor and really enjoyed the stay. I stayed in the cheaper older cabana on the second floor and what I really liked...was hearing the waves crash on the reef at night. The room is clean and functional plenty of hot water and the bed was pretty comfortable and now that I... More
