La Casa del Laurel was the perfect choice for us for our three-day visit - beautifully appointed spacious room, excellent wifi, free parking, thoughtful service and little treats in the lobby (apples, pastries, coffee, tea). We were concerned about noise since a couple of reviews had indicated that, but our room overlooked the street, and after 8:00 or 9:00 pm,... More

This is a nice little hotel in the colonial center of town--only about two blocks (steep climb) from the Zocolo. The hotel is clean, the beds were nice, the wi-fi worked well, they have a free continental breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the employees were nice, etc. The hotel was a good value place to stay based on its... Location was perfect. Close enough to the bus station & Zocalo, but quiet. Room was spacious, very clean, amenities in the room (toiletries, hair dryer, etc) were very adequate. Although my room was close to the reception, it was still quiet. There are some snacks at the reception, and I appreciate the small touches like chocolate at turn down service... More

I stayed in this hotel because my first option was full, and i am very with my decision. The cleaning is the most important thing for me and was totally done in this place. Each room is beautiful and conveniently located near to the zocalo and church. Book with anticipation because is a high demand on this one!

We spent 2 nights at this hotel with our mother as well as our 1 year old. The rooms were simple but clean, not a lot of light as we were in the back of the hotel (one room actually had no windows), but quieter than the rooms facing the street. The hotel is a few blocks from the Zocalo... More

I had a pleasant time in my 5 nights here. It was quiet and staff was friendly. Close by to all the silver shops and plaza, and just up the hill from the Saturday silver market. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the terrible breakfast.

We stayed three nights in early May. This hotel was perfectly situated--a short walk to the Zocalo or five minutes to the bus station in the other direction. The room was very pretty, we looked out to the street. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. Lots of hot water for showers. With the heavy windows... More

This hotel is quite new, sparkling clean, and well run. The location is excellent as it is only a 5 minute uphill walk to the zocalo. There is a ping pong table and big television down in the basement breakfast room. Breakfast is served Friday thru Sunday only, but there was always baked goods, apples, and coffee or tea available... More

“don't be afraid to take a front room - they have more light and great views, and noise after 8:00 or 9:00 at night is not an issue.”

“There are no quiet rooms in this hotel, and there probably are no quiet rooms in any hotel in Taxco. Traffic is horrible and loud everywhere. Try the top floor for rooms that are a bit bigger and only marginally brighter.”

“The rooms in the back are quiet but dark. Some have no windows. However, we preferred those to the front-facing ones as I believe they would have been noisy.”

“The rooms toward the back are quiet but dark. We switched to a room with a small balcony over the street. More traffic noise, but worth it for the view and light.”
