My wife ane I stayed five nights at this classic piece of history in San Cristobal. We stayed in the Oxchuc room, which is in the back of building. We fell in love with this hotel/musuem as soon as we walked through the main entrance. Everything on the inside is a piece of history - photographs, library, and dining area.... More

Na Bolom takes your breath away with the history behind the hotel and cultural center, founded by 2 Europeans more than 60 years ago. Since then Na Bolom have supported the local indigenous population in numerous ways and there is an interesting museum and a big library available with a lot of unique books and writings on lacandon jungle and... This was one of the coziest hotels that I've ever stayed in. Rustic, lots of greenery all around us and the friendliest staff. The guided tour of the museum (included with your stay) was very thorough and informative. It is good to see that they are continuing the legacy that Trudy and Frans Blom started. Highly recommended!

Na Bolom took care of us when we were ill, fed us good breakfast whenever we wanted, and provided us with a sweet, cozy room overlooking the garden. Paradise, basically. Someday, I hope to come back. Prices are right, food is good, and, if you want something special, book the room with the king bed and whirlpool. Worth it!!!

Fascinating history, and interesting property. We made reservations for dinner...set price, and set menu. Served family style. The dinner was very good, service excellent. The property is cold with an open square in the middle, but the dining room had a nice fireplace and with doors closed we were comfortable. We were told by our guide that you can stay... More

1st thing is that the museum is quite fascinating and enjoyable. The hotel itself has more of a feel of a hostel than hotel. Staff were not too personable probably due to the fact that they are dealing with visitors all day. Place needs a coat of paint and showing a lot of wear and tear. A pity because it... More

Casa Na Bolom is an amazing historical place where Frida Kahlo hanged with the owners explorers Frans and Trudy Blom. The rooms are rustic and it takes long time to get hot water, and if you travel during winter the nights are very cold. The breakfast in the beautiful patio is great and you should definitely take the guided tour... More

We stayed here on two occasions for a total of three nights. The first stay was two nights in "Santiago" and then we had another solo night in "Harvard" - the latter room was definitely much nicer than the former, in terms of the feel of the room, the quality of the bathroom, and the noise levels overnight. The property... More

This is not a typical tourist hotel, but therein lies the charm. If you require service and amenities that US type lodgings offer you may not be happy here. There is no television, in room telephone or staff that are conversant in English. The hotel is a beautiful colonial building with loads of artistic detail and decoration. It in fact... More

We loved Na Bolom, which is more than just a hotel, for its character, history and role in the region. We had a room in the main house with a fireplace, which I recommend over the rooms in the "extension" in the garden. Hotel guests are entitled to a free (although we did tip him) guided tour of the museum... More
