The place with its patio is beautiful. The parking is big enough. The location is very central and quiet. We got a noisy and dark room behind the restaurant, though we booked more than six months ahead and requested a quiet and bright room.

We arrived in San Cristobal in weather that reminded us of home! Drizzle, grey and cold - so maybe not a good start to our stay at the Parador Margarita. Consequently our room was cold, and smelt of damp. The staff were very good and did move us the next night to a different room, which was slightly better but it was still cold and damp. We had 3 nights here - the rooms are round a pretty courtyard and there is a nice bar. Breakfast was mediocre - nothing special. The location is good with just a short walk to the Zocalo. Maybe it was just not our cup of tea, I'm sure in the summer the rooms would be cool and just perfect if you like old style hotels. But in November it was too much like dark and damp hotels in England - which we were trying to escape!

I highly recommend Hotel Parador Margerita! I stayed there for three cozy nights and will stay there again next time I am in San Cristobal de Las Casas. The price is reasonable for the amenities such as bottled water, hot shower, clean rooms, and front desk conscierge. I did not speak Spanish and asked for help printing out my boarding pass because I received an error message from the airline. Moses Febadua was the clerk on duty and went above and beyond to call the airline, get the issue resolved and print out the boarding pass. I was so impressed! And he did this while keeping me calm. I found the housekeeping staff very professional and the on site restaurant serves a great variety of breakfast options. Try the Huevos Divorsiados. I can not say enough about this hotel.

We spend only 2 nights but we love it ! 5 minutes from Plaza, very calm and peaceful. Parking next door to hotel entrance. Room spacious and very well furnished. Breakfast very healthy with the possibility to eat fruits and yoghurt.

I highly recommend this hotel as it was really pretty, the room was comfortable (room 24) and the breakfast area and grounds were all charming too. It's such a pretty town and the hotel is on a quaint street but is a haven inside with the lovely gardening.
