Marialicia Suites was perfect for our stay. The 2 room suite is well designed with two separate bedrooms plus a living room/kitchenette and a small private patio - plenty of space so night owls and early morning risers don't disturb others. Nice breakfast options in the morning. Only 10 minutes from the Zocalo but quiet. The spectacular part s the hotel staff. Dulce is beyond amazing - great recommendations, extremely customer focused, makes anything you need happen. All the other staff were equally gracious and helpful. Highly recommend.

Located in a quiet area about 10 min walk from center, this hotel is really a collection of small private casitas connected by internal courtyard. Loud neighbors in next room is not an issue.
Rooms are basic and are incredible clean. We happened to come back while the three cleaning ladies were working and observed them scrubbing shower tiles and glass panels!!!!. We doubt hotels do such a thorough job before new guests arrive.
Beds are comfortable, bathroom is decent size. Kitchen has a small frig and a carafe of filtered water.
Breakfast is available at the lobby (~$10), but there are options nearby. Try Villas de Sazon across the street (run by indigenous women out of the house) for an amazing (and dirt cheap) experience. Early birds can try Chapulíoaxaqueño a few doors down for a typical Oaxacan breakfast run a sweetest father and son team. Finally, Marito&Moglie Café - 5 min walk - is superb for more American type fair (with better coffee though!)

Believe the reviews and everything you hear about this hotel. It's a fantastic place to stay. The walk into town is about 15 minutes. There's a fantastic taco place just a few blocks down called Tacos Sierra, you must eat here at least once. But the jewel here is the hotel itself. Dulce, Noe and everyone who works here goes out of their way to help you and to make your stay memorable. Even the ladies in the kitchen, who cook breakfast, are so courteous and kind with their time. They offered impromptu cooking lessons for my wife who wanted to learn how to make this pepper chili side dish that was out of this world. The place features 10 bungalows/casitas that are impeccably furnished and designed. Breakfast costs about $11 US per person. The only negative, and it's minor, is the shuttle from the airport. The hotel can arrange it for you, but it's pricey at 700 pesos. A cab ride will be less than half. But we were arriving very early in the morning and weren't sure about transportation at that time, we elected for the shuttle from the airport, which is about 20 minutes away. The driver was there to greet us and it worked out perfectly. Marialicia Suites is a huge thumbs up, perfect 10.

The private shuttle airport-hotel is provided by a touris company and it is an standard rate, this is someting out of my hands, but very safe and quickly to have a ride to the hotel. Thanks for your preference, and if you back Oaxaca stay with us please!!! Regards

Marialicia Suites was extraordinarily welcoming and very friendly from the moment we got in (which by the way, thanks to flight delays was close to 3am). Everything was very clean.

We personally loved the location as it is by a ton of amazing restaurants that range from super cheap to fine dining fancy and everything in between (make sure to check out Cabuche, Taviche, Balcon, Teocintl). Everything we wanted to see was within a 20m walk, and frankly after all the food we ate, was very welcome to walk off all those extra calories.

The internet was pretty solid for the most part, although there were a few times each day when it got a little shaky (never had an issue with work, but just had to get off camera and restrict camera coming in).

Location is definitely on the quieter side and felt very safe. Make sure to check out Mercado Merced for some very tasty and cheap food, which is just a quick walk away.

This was my first time visiting Oaxaca, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The hotel was beyond amazing! While there were a few minor tweaks here and there, it was overall a fantastic stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.

A special shout-out to Dulce, the property manager, who was extremely knowledgeable. She helped us with everything from restaurant recommendations to wine spots, and we were always grateful for her insights. Even though Oscar and Noé spoke limited English, they were always eager to assist us whenever we had questions or needed help.

The hotel is centrally located, just a 12-minute walk to the city center, and far enough from the hustle and bustle of traffic. It’s in a safe neighborhood with plenty of easy-to-walk areas. Perfect for friends who don’t want to share a room—each room is spacious, and the two-bedroom setup was ideal. Everything was spotless, cozy, and lovely.

I highly recommend this place. If you ever visit, make sure to tell them Richard recommended it and say hi to the wonderful staff!

Marialicia Suites was the perfect home base for our visit with friends in Oaxaca. A short walk to the Zocalo with many great restaurants and the Mercado de la Merced right around the corner. Rooms are very clean, modern and well-furnished, they are separated by a beautiful courtyard through the entrance with lots of privacy and separate outdoor seating areas. Dulce and her staff are extremely thoughtful and welcoming, they took great care of us.

We stayed in the family suite over U.S. Labor Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The family suite had plenty of room for my wife, myself, and our son, including a mini-fridge, stove top, microwave, bar seating, a living area, an excellent and private patio, and two bedrooms. The bathroom was very clean with a separate sink allowing two people to get ready at once. It was about a 15 minute walk to the main square, passing by a pizza place, a bakery and several restaurants. The breakfast was very fresh, with local fruit, and eggs served local-style. Dulce was there every day and was a big help in advance arranging transportation to sights outside Oaxaca, and was full of great advice for visiting the city. The staff as a whole was remarkably friendly and helpful, and everyone’s English seemed quite good.

We visited Oaxaca for the DĂa de Los Muertos. We stayed at the Marialicia Suites for 9 days and were extremely pleased with our experience. The suit had a basic kitchen with everything we needed for a short stay. There was plenty of room in the 2 bedrooms, the bathroom, kitchen and living room. It was clean and quiet with a small private patio.
Dulce was very helpful and always friendly. She made sure we had a red waiting for us when we arrived at the airport, gave us lots of information about restaurants and things to do and made sure that we got back to the airport in time for our return flight. The small restaurant was quite good for the included breakfast, the servers and cook went out of their way to make sure all the guests got what they wanted to eat. The only disappointment was that even with this excelente service and food along with very responsible room rates, most of the guest were to cheap to tip the staff even a few pesos.
Overall a very nice stay

Due to the current travel restrictions (January '21), I spent 14 nights at Marialicia Suites. I had a wonderful stay. Dulce and the entire team made me feel so welcome and well looked after. When I contacted the hotel to arrange for an airport pickup, I was offered an upgrade for the same price as my original booking, which was much appreciated. The hotel's suites are spacious and beautiful. I particularly appreciated the fully equipped kitchen as I didn’t want to eat out every day and sometimes just preferred to fix myself a small meal. The suites and the entire property are kept spotlessly clean. Despite my very limited Spanish, I managed to communicate with everyone on staff. The breakfast was outstanding and I enjoyed being able to sit on my suite’s patio and enjoy my coffee and eggs every morning. I appreciated the daily water carafe refill in the room. It allowed me to fill my travel bottle instead of constantly buying bottled water. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe not only at the hotel but walking everywhere in the surrounding areas. From the hotel, I was able to get everywhere on foot. The location was just ideal to walk to the historic center, Jalatlaco or Xochimilco. Marialicia is centrally located but away from the city’s traffic, hustle and bustle. On my last day, housekeeping left a small piggy bank in my room where I could leave the tip for my stay. I thought this was a neat way of handling this. Muchas gracias por todo. I'll visit again.

About a 13 minute walk from the Zocalo and you get to enjoy seeing a little more of this quaint, town like city with the beautiful colored homes and buildings. Dulce was such a pleasure, she arranged our pick up and drop off from the airport and gave us so many helpful tips and directions on what to do in Oaxaca! The hotel itself has a similar set up to other hotels and I hope I describe it properly but there’s a courtyard in the middle and the hotel rooms surround the courtyard. The hotels all have a different kind of set up with the trees and fountains and sidewalks and ours was just as beautiful! I loved our room that was two stories, when you enter there’s almost a tiny living room/waiting room and when you head up the stairs it’s a little apartment with another living room, kitchen with all appliances and a cute counter with stools and then we had a separate bedroom from the bathroom which was so helpful cause I was staying with my sister. We had enough space in our king size bed and if she went to bed earlier I could get ready without distributing her since the bathroom was separate and hey, I had the rest of the apartment to myself. We attended my cousin’s wedding here and a lot of the hotels that were suggested on her webpage were pretty pricey so when we found this one, we were very surprised at how affordable it was even though it had the same standards as the pricey ones. I think this maybe cause the other boutique hotels are also historical so if you want that ghostly feel to it, go for it, but Marialicia Suites had that modern feel and you still get to experience Oaxaca like the others. Would definitely stay here again cause I’m coming back to Mexico again and again!
