Due to the current travel restrictions (January '21), I spent 14 nights at Marialicia Suites. I had a wonderful stay. Dulce and the entire team made me feel so welcome and well looked after. When I contacted the hotel to arrange for an airport pickup, I was offered an upgrade for the same price as my original booking, which was much appreciated. The hotel's suites are spacious and beautiful. I particularly appreciated the fully equipped kitchen as I didn’t want to eat out every day and sometimes just preferred to fix myself a small meal. The suites and the entire property are kept spotlessly clean. Despite my very limited Spanish, I managed to communicate with everyone on staff. The breakfast was outstanding and I enjoyed being able to sit on my suite’s patio and enjoy my coffee and eggs every morning. I appreciated the daily water carafe refill in the room. It allowed me to fill my travel bottle instead of constantly buying bottled water. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe not only at the hotel but walking everywhere in the surrounding areas. From the hotel, I was able to get everywhere on foot. The location was just ideal to walk to the historic center, Jalatlaco or Xochimilco. Marialicia is centrally located but away from the city’s traffic, hustle and bustle. On my last day, housekeeping left a small piggy bank in my room where I could leave the tip for my stay. I thought this was a neat way of handling this. Muchas gracias por todo. I'll visit again.

Pretty straightforward place a few blocks beyond the heavy city center traffic. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful.

I appreciated the pitcher of filtered/purified water water in the room, as I’m over all of the plastic single use bottles that hotels use.

What a great place to stay in Oaxaca. The Marialicia Suites are located about 10 minutes walk from the central square of Oaxaca. It's a great location as it a quick stroll to the centre of the city yet the ambience in th hotel is quiet and tranquil. The suite had two bedrooms, sitting area and well stocked kitchen in which you could easily cook a meal if you wanted to. Be aware there was one bathroom for both bedrooms but it was fine for us and our friends. The breakfasts were outstanding, a choice of made to order eggs, omelettes, french toast, fruit, yoghurts, toast and more. Being freshly made breakfast took a bit longer than a buffet style affair but we just couldn't fault it. Without exception every member of staff we met was friendly and helpful. Dulce on the front desk was so lovely, welcoming and chatty in her fantastic English. Highly recommended and good value for the location. Thank you everyone at the Marialicia suites for a wonderful stay.

Marialicia Suites was extraordinarily welcoming and very friendly from the moment we got in (which by the way, thanks to flight delays was close to 3am). Everything was very clean.

We personally loved the location as it is by a ton of amazing restaurants that range from super cheap to fine dining fancy and everything in between (make sure to check out Cabuche, Taviche, Balcon, Teocintl). Everything we wanted to see was within a 20m walk, and frankly after all the food we ate, was very welcome to walk off all those extra calories.

The internet was pretty solid for the most part, although there were a few times each day when it got a little shaky (never had an issue with work, but just had to get off camera and restrict camera coming in).

Location is definitely on the quieter side and felt very safe. Make sure to check out Mercado Merced for some very tasty and cheap food, which is just a quick walk away.

Believe the reviews and everything you hear about this hotel. It's a fantastic place to stay. The walk into town is about 15 minutes. There's a fantastic taco place just a few blocks down called Tacos Sierra, you must eat here at least once. But the jewel here is the hotel itself. Dulce, Noe and everyone who works here goes out of their way to help you and to make your stay memorable. Even the ladies in the kitchen, who cook breakfast, are so courteous and kind with their time. They offered impromptu cooking lessons for my wife who wanted to learn how to make this pepper chili side dish that was out of this world. The place features 10 bungalows/casitas that are impeccably furnished and designed. Breakfast costs about $11 US per person. The only negative, and it's minor, is the shuttle from the airport. The hotel can arrange it for you, but it's pricey at 700 pesos. A cab ride will be less than half. But we were arriving very early in the morning and weren't sure about transportation at that time, we elected for the shuttle from the airport, which is about 20 minutes away. The driver was there to greet us and it worked out perfectly. Marialicia Suites is a huge thumbs up, perfect 10.

The private shuttle airport-hotel is provided by a touris company and it is an standard rate, this is someting out of my hands, but very safe and quickly to have a ride to the hotel. I stayed at the hotel while vacationing in Oaxaca. It is about six or so blocks from the center of town. I liked this as it was quieter and a little off the beaten path. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk to town. The street is well-lit and safe.
The hotel is small with only around 10 rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room I stayed in was spacious and enjoyable for the five nights I was there. The bedroom had a door you could close to separate yourself from the parlor area. The parlor had a nice seating area, a bar with stools, a stocked mini-fridge with room to put your own items, and a stovetop which was great to heat water for tea. The bathroom is nice with a stand-up shower with great water pressure.
The only downfall was the hotel was not serving breakfast. There is a great market that is about 3 blocks from the hotel. They have around 6 different restaurants within the market that serve breakfast. All at reasonable prices.
Overall a super place to stay in Oaxaca.

We stayed here December 2020 for 9 nights. The room had a lovely patio and kitchen area. It was quiet , modern and very clean. The shower was good and the bed was very comfortable. The managers and staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, good coffee, eggs etc.

The location is perfect close enough to the Zocolo, shopping and restaurants, but far enough away to not pick up the night noise. The Managers helped arranged private tours of Monte Alban, Mitla and all the surrounding sites. We would stay here again when we return to Oaxaca.

The only thing we thought would make the unit even more perfect would be a couch in the living room area in addition to the two chairs.

I can not say enough wonderful things about our stay at Marialicia Suites! The hotel is beautiful, including our room. Our room came with a kitchenette, which was such a lifesaver. We were so grateful that each day the staff cleaned, provided a fresh pitcher of filtered water and even cleaned any dishes that were left (we weren't expecting that! It was a nice surprise).

Dulce was so helpful and friendly. We never worried about having any questions, because we knew we could count on her for it all! She helped us book travel to and from the airport, a tour of Monte Alban, dinner reservations at all the best places and so much more. She even helped us arrange our Covid-19 tests for our return to the states. That helped relieve a lot of anxieties we had regarding that.

We had such a wonderful time in Oaxaca, and a large part of that is due to our stay at Marialicia :) We hope to come back sooner rather than later, and will be daydreaming about it until then!

We visited Oaxaca for the Día de Los Muertos. We stayed at the Marialicia Suites for 9 days and were extremely pleased with our experience. The suit had a basic kitchen with everything we needed for a short stay. There was plenty of room in the 2 bedrooms, the bathroom, kitchen and living room. It was clean and quiet with a small private patio.
Dulce was very helpful and always friendly. She made sure we had a red waiting for us when we arrived at the airport, gave us lots of information about restaurants and things to do and made sure that we got back to the airport in time for our return flight. The small restaurant was quite good for the included breakfast, the servers and cook went out of their way to make sure all the guests got what they wanted to eat. The only disappointment was that even with this excelente service and food along with very responsible room rates, most of the guest were to cheap to tip the staff even a few pesos.
Overall a very nice stay

My husband and I stayed at Marialicia Suites for a week. We appreciated the location, which is in a quiet and safe neighborhood within walking distance from all the attractions and restaurants we wanted to visit. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Dulce (the manager) is the most important asset to the hotel and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. She helped arrange great regional day trips to the local sights we wanted to see. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Oaxaca!
