I very much enjoyed my stay at the Parador de Alcala. I stayed a week and was very happy in my spacious room (#13). The location is very convenient for walking and is close to the city center, but slightly removed from the crowds and noise of the Zocalo. Breakfast in the courtyard was a delight daily. Also, I dined there one evening and had a very nice meal. The hotel staff were helpful and particularly the staff of the courtyard café were friendly and helpful. I visited during the corona virus pandemic and I felt very safe, I was pleased with the measures for safety and sanitizing which quite seemed advanced when compared to those that I have seen here in the USA. Oaxaca is a beautiful city and visiting the Parador de Alcala is a comfortable and agreeable way to experience the city.

Hotel's Favorite
This is a modernized hotel right in the heart of Oaxaca on the pedestrian only street. We were in Oaxaca for a wedding and Parador de Alcala woprked very well for us and our adult children. The rooms were large with a king-sized bed and large bathroom. The rooftop pool was excellent for relaxing at the end of the day. Our room had a street view balcony, which was a fun place to watch the wedding processions on weekend evenings. We were surprised that we were not bothered by street noise if we had the balcony door closed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was within easy walking distance of restaurants and sights in the center of the city.

This was a truly wonderful hotel. Amazing location, the included breakfast was wonderful with many options. Staff is lovely and handled our minor requests for additional toiletries with lighting speed. Accommodation was very spacious and clean. Water bottles were also provided. The hotel itself is beautiful with a gorgeous open terrace in the middle where breakfast is served to order. Front door is locked at night and you ring a doorbell for entry (limited rooms allow staff to know everyone that is staying there). Prime location for access on foot to restaurants and the main square, shopping, etc. Will definitely stay here when returning to Oaxaca.

The Parador de Alcala is a new, modern hotel in a re-purposed building close to the Zocalo in Oaxaca. It is a small hotel with around 20 rooms. Although my room was extremely small, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. In contrast to the room, the bathroom was quite spacious. Everything worked well and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was reasonably priced and the location was excellent. A word of warning if you have mobility issues. Due to the extremely high ceilings there are 33 steps to the first floor and no elevator. If you have trouble with stairs, be sure to get a room on the ground floor. My stay was very brief but I would certainly not hesitate to stay at the Parador again.
