We stayed two nights in this lovely, small hotel, close to restaurants, shops and attractions. Avenida de Independencia is a busy street, but there are several rooms that are not disturbed by the traffic outside. We got a quiet, big room with a sitting group on the 3rd floor. Nb. no lift. Nice furniture and exquisite decorations, drinking water and...

I was touring with a group and before staying here we had stayed in one of the Melia hotels in Mixico which was awful. It, therefore, was a real pleasure to stay here. All that you would hope from in an atmospheric small hotel. My room opened on to a communal balcony where there was seating, birds and lots of...

This was the perfect place for our week long stay. We visited February 2014 and found it to be everything and more that I expected it to be. Excellent location and close to restaurants and the Zocalo, banks and Areem is "literally" across the street for all your shipping needs! The restaurant at the hotel is also open to the...

We recently stayed at the hotel as part of a large group. It proved to be a wonderful choice. Parador San Miguel is a small hotel, in the historic centre of Oaxaca, very close to the cathedral and the zocalo. The hotel is a very well restored and well maintained mansion. It almost makes you feel as if you were...

Very accommodating stuff, central location, a very charming patio with birds, plants and music - yes they play music until 9 or so, water the plants and take care of the birds all the time, which causes some commotion - in my opinion a very pleasant one. The room was fine too, one the small side, but the bed was...

Very nice, comfortable hotel in a perfect location! We booked the Zaachila suite, which was very roomy, but also very cozy. The king size bed was comfortable and there were nice amenities in the bathroom. The hotel is very safe -- they close and lock their door in the evening for security. As others have mentioned, it was quite noisy...

As the owner of a small textile tour company, I recently brought another group to this hotel for the third time. I honestly would not consider staying anywhere else in Oaxaca City. The colorful courtyard, the charming and immaculate rooms and lovely rooftop terrace are provide a perfect oasis in the center of the bustling city. The hotels location makes...

We stayed here for 3 nights, booking the Hualtetec "honeymoon suite" months in advance for our anniversary. When we arrived, we were told it was not available, and given a suite on the first floor, next to the patio, kitchen and staircase. This was really noisy with street traffic, hallway noise, kitchen noise and lobby noise, I would have expected...

We loved this hotel. It is a beautiful building with a lot of character. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The cafe has a great menu. Best of all the hotel is very conveniently located so it makes a great 'home from home': you can pop back for coffee or lunch/dinner and the menu is good and prices reasonable....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With a privileged location, 20 minutes from the airport. In the historical downtown area, only a half block from the Central Alameda. The beautiful colonial-style building has three floors with 23 rooms, including four suites.Located on one of the main avenues in the city, the facade had a grand entry door of carved cedar, opening to a lovely porch with a statue of St. Michael the Archangel.A wrought iron gate opens to the hotel vestibule, where walls of ochre, terra-cotta, beige and cream combine with dark green ironwork and green granite columns to provide a dramatic backdrop for the brilliant bougainvillea and geraniums that thrive in the home's central patio. From here you can catch a hint of the spellbinding flavors of our Oaxacan kitchen. In "La Cocina" you can choose a magical dish to your specifications.Small gardens lead to the first level rooms. A majestic green granite stairway crowned with glorious stained glass leads to the second and third levels. On the second level terrace, you could relax or sunbathe accompanied by canaries in a kaleidoscope of multicolored flowers. ... more   less
