I have never had a nicer stay than at La Betilia! We were warmly welcomed, our rooms were spotless and very comfortable, daily breakfast was excellent and the location was easy walking distance to everything we wanted to explore in Oaxaca centro. Our host, Daniel, was available every day to provide ideas, suggest restaurants and excursions and was so very friendly! The courtyard was a lovely place to connect with other visitors and to relax. I cannot wait to return for another visit here! Highly recommended~

We stayed at this delightful place during our holiday trip to Mexico. It is situated close to the city centre but down a quiet road. It is well set out with all the rooms facing an open central courtyard. All the rooms were of a great size and well fitted out including a safe. Breakfast was a joy as it was served in the courtyard with fresh food prepared by the excellent staff and different every day. Fresh fruit which had literally just been cut up was one of the highlights. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Daniel the owner is exceptional. He helped us with our sightseeing trip, arranging transport, giving us ideas and ensuring things ran smoothly.
The location is excellent enabling us to walk to everything from street markets, museums, restaurants and shops. We even managed a night bike ride around the town!
The only reason I have not given it 5 stars, is there is quite a noisy bar opposite which plays music and if you are not used to it may cause some problems - however, a set of earplugs worked well. I also couldn't find a hairdyrer - to be fair, I did not ask for one so it might have been available.
I would certainly go back and stay here if I was ever in Oaxaca. We booked it on the basis of the reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint. Much better than staying in a hotel.

A friend who had been a tour guide in Oaxaca recommended La Betulia for our stay. It is just at the edge of the historic district with most of the main attractions in El Centro a 10-20 minute walk away. The bed and breakfast is situated in a compound with a communal breakfast offered; a delicious way to start your day and meet fellow travelers. Our room was well situated and the bed was very comfortable. The charismatic manager, Daniel, was incredibly hospitable and gave us a lot of pointers for navigating the city; it was our first time. He was fluent in English and Spanish and fluidly switched between them. Since it was the holidays and we did not book early enough, we were unable to spend more than two nights, but would gladly return next time we are visiting this historic city.

Stayed here recently in the two bedroom apartment with friends. We really enjoyed our stay. A good location just outside of the busy commercial district - so is a lot quieter than some of the hustle and bustle of other hotels while still being walkable to everything. The host of the venue, Daniel, is incredibly helpful and made our stay wonderful.

This is my second stay at La Betulia and words cannot express how much I love this place!!! The staff are like family! They are attentive to you and truly genuine. The breakfast every day was delicious / prepared by ladies that were/are just wonderful "con un corazon real". Please choose to stay there at least once and you will always want to return!! I speak from my heart! I travel solo, and their welcome and understanding of different people coming and going just nailed it for me! :) :) The photos are their site are better than mine :)

La Betulia is the place we'd stay at over and over and will certainly return to next time we are in Oaxaca. I can't say enough lovely things about it. From friendly, helpful, welcoming staff, to delicious breakfasts, this B&B has it all. Daniel is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Oaxaca and checks in with all the guests. The wonderful ladies who work in the beautiful summer kitchen are very sweet, and also talented cooks! The breakfasts are a feast and always use fresh, local ingredients prepared in house. La Betulia itself is just lovely with its colorful interior courtyard where you have breakfast, and nice, clean rooms. The bathroom was very pretty and the water always a perfect temperature and pressure with no wait time :) I definitely recommend La Betulia! Gracias, Daniel y todos!

What more can we say? We have read all the La Betulia reviews…all glowing and complimentary. What more can we say? Our two-weeks at La Betulia on the upper floor deserves a “100% satisfaction.” The staff were accommodating and friendly…the breakfast both filling and delicious. Our second floor room on the end was clean, warm and ample. However, as two females traveling together, we would have preferred twin beds rather than one queen but that was not an option for this upstairs room.

This is the place to stay if you're looking for a perfect location as well as a comfortable, personalized and clean bed and breakfast. It is located in a quiet street, walking distance from a lot of shopping and sights. Daniel and the rest of the staff are accommodating, friendly and professional. Daniel is truly dedicated to helping you have the best stay possible, with personal recommendations and suggestions. We were so impressed with breakfast, which is fresh and delicious (fresh fruit, fresh breads, fresh squeezed orange juice and made to order with traditional Oaxocan entree, which is different every day). Highly recommend! Beautiful grounds and simple, beautifully kept rooms. The large suite is more like an apartment, with space to hang out and cook if you needed, would probably be great for a family. The free parking was also an added bonus.

We loved our stay in La Betulia and wished we had booked for longer (we stayed 6 nights in total) in February others were sometimes staying longer. Located in a residential area there are decent restaurants very close by or a much more extensive choice in the San Domingo 15 minutes) or Zocalo (a further 5 minutes) areas. Daniel was a great host and Rosita looked after the housekeeping and catering team. Delicious breakfasts. There were no room refrigerators or drinks but we were welcome to use the B and B's facilities in the outdoor kitchen and dining area. Rooms were comfortable with good hot showers, a TV and room safe. The wifi was a bit touch and go at times but we compensated by actually talking to people which was great. A great choice in Oaxaca.

What an incredible stay!!! La Betulia is everything you can imagine and more. Located right outside the Centro, perfect for noise control, but still walkable. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and roomy. My favorite was the gorgeous courtyard. A different breakfast was served every day. You start out with your fruta and pan and then your main dish and cafecito. I honestly looked forward to it every morning. The ladies get there early to prep, cook, and serve. They are just lovely. Daniel, the manager, is amazing and full of suggestions. I highly recommend you stay at La Betulia. I can't wait to return!
