No internet, no privacy, no AC, coarse staff, sketchy neighborhood. I travel all over Mexico and this should be a $35/night hotel. Hotel Mision Los Angeles is a much better option. No privacy: to get airflow, you have to open the window. Every single person that walked by looked right in my room. Ridiculous not to have AC at a $65/night hotel. Tiny room - the "closet" is in the bathroom. Many tourists will not feel safe in this neighborhood. Spa? Screaming kids everywhere. Not exactly relaxing.

The 100% vegetarian restaurant at the Los Olivos Spa and Hotel is wonderful. We are vegetarians, and we had to really dig to find this spot. TripAdvisor needs to add this restaurant. Fortunately one of our guides knew about this place and recommended it to us. They serve all day and have special times when its like a buffet and that is a great bargain. We ordered off the menu and it was great. Its a little farther out from the historical district, but if you are vegetarian, you will appreciate this place.

Located at 5 minutes by car (30-40 min. by foot) from downtown- The hotel offers a place for relaxation and healthy choices with the spa, (beauty parlor, massages, jacuzzi & temazcal) I would like it to have a juice & smoothie bar too. The vegetarian restaurant offers breakfast buffet and Mexican dishes for lunch and dinner. The coffee is delicious as it should be the in Oaxaca.

I moved to this Hotel from "La Casona de dos Patios" in the downtown historic center. I regretted my move and I will tell you why. This location is not near anything of walking distance, other than a Supermarket. The restaurant was extremely slow, I waited nearly 25 minutes for a cappuccino two days in a row and when I asked for espresso the second day, they said that had none, so, I am now wondering how they made the cappuccino?! It was was good, but, the long wait left me too disturbed to enjoy it when it arrived. My room, 132, nearest the pool, had no A/C as I knew ahead of time but what made matters worse, the ceiling fan was useless for directing air to the bed. I was able to roll my "wheeled bed" under the the fan, but still, it was a unique kind of fan in that, even on max speed, would not extinguish a light flame on a candle. Also, if wifi is important to you as it is to me, check out the signal all over the room. I had to go to the pool to make video calls or to stream videos and even then it was poor.

Hotel was just a short walk from where our son was staying in Oaxaca, which was a great bonus for us. Rooms comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed for a week, then went on a road trip, then returned for just one night before our departure. First room we stayed in was very dark, and looked out onto a wall (base of staircase) - Needed to have light on all the time. Although the hotel had some lovely gardens, we couldn't see them from our room at all. We were surprised to find that not only did the hotel not serve alcohol: they didn't permit it on the premises either. Could find nothing about this in the information about Los Olivos. Very good breakfast, with lots of delicious choices! Ate at the hotel once in the evening. Quite austere dining room with fluorescent lights and bare tables: not very welcoming. We preferred eating in the city centre, where there are some excellent restaurants. City centre easily and cheaply reached by bus or taxi.
