This hotel is very clean and very personable. The rooms are basic but immaculately kept. Staff were helpful and friendly and this hotel is very convenient for most attractions ... Churches, museums and parks. I would rate it about 3 star, purely because it is very simple but it was more than adequate.

I stayed from the 23rd to the 27th of May of this year at La Catrina de Alcala during my stay in Oaxaca. This is a lovely, romantic and mystic boutique hotel with 15 rooms, freshly painted walls and high ceilings. It is cozy and spacious at the same time. The rooms are on the large size, and the building... More

I love the state of Oaxaca. My family (3 generations) and I have stayed at 5 different hotels in this city and we discovered this one a year ago and will always go back Location - this is situated in the most popular part of the city. You can walk everywhere. There are tons of restaurants, shopping, nightlife and culture... More

The hotel location is perfect, right in between the Santo Domingo church and the zocalo. The rooms were ok but the mattress was very hard, also the room safe is tiny. The amount of noise is excessive especially in the early morning and there is so much echo that noise just reverberated throughout the entire place. The breakfast that's included... More

The small, low-key hotel is very well located on a pedestrian street just north of the zocalo. The building is historic with a beautiful covered courtyard where breakfast (nice coffee, one roll and fresh-squeezed juice with an option to purchase more substantial dishes) is served by friendly staff. Our modern and very clean room was a good size with a... More

Staying at this boutique hotel was a great experience. Starting with the gallery with beautiful art and the antique and elegant details. The breakfast is seriously amazing, I am still craving the cilantro chilaquiles. It has a great location, in the main street for tourists near all the attractions of the city.

We simply loved the elegance of this small hotel. Its architecture, its location, the genuine friendliness of the staff, their professionalism made our stay in Oaxaca for the Day of the Dead festival a memorable event. We recommended it highly. Joel and Dina Sherzer

Staying at Hotel Catrina La Alcala was a treat. The furnishing of the rooms and the art was beautiful. The stay was pleasant because of the wonderful artistic work displayed and the delightful colors used in the decor. Additionally, I really enjoyed the food. It was well prepared and delicious.

When I initially saw the hotel images and the prcies I expected much more than what we got. For starters - the rate was given to us in USD, but when making the conversion to MXP, the exchange rate given was much higher (we lost 1,000 MXP in the conversion vs the prices of a trading house down the street)... We visited Oaxaca for Christmas holidays and we had an excellent time. It was our first time in this hotel and we will definately consider it for our next visit to Oaxaca. From the start, when we were making the reservation on the phone, we made a mistake, but the hotel employee helped us with everything we needed until it... More
