At the gate of Oaxaca’s downtown, this place of relaxation offers accommodation in the famous neighborhood of Jalatlaco, better known as the “tanneries neighborhood”. Our establishment retains the tanners’ souls because it is here that Don Chanito established, in 1920, what was to become one of the most famous tanneries in the region, flourishing until 1999.In our patio, you will notice a machine of the last century that was used for refining skins destined for horse saddles, leather balls and sandals.Brand new, our hotel features seven unique rooms with great amenities. Located steps away from the beautiful Jalatlaco Church and a seven-minute walk from the Santo Domingo Temple, the heart of Oaxaca. This central location in an historical district allows for a pleasant and most memorable trip.

You felt like family, we enjoyed Dia De los Muertos here and the hotel had a parade full of people right in their court yard! They preformed a site, drank some tequilla and were on their was to the next party in about an hours or so. The rooms were very clean and the neighborhood felt very safe and nice. I'm facebook friends with the owner now because they really treated us like family. The son was the only person who spoke amazing English so we spent an eventing talking in the courtyard with the family while he translated. Best hotel, we WILL stay here again. LOVED IT! (Small warning, the shower water was quite cold but still worth it)

This is a very solid, simple hotel. It is a 15 minute walk from downtown, but in a distinct part of Oaxaca that seems a little more hip and residential, with a touch of upscale. The rooms are clean, the morning coffee is nice, and the price compensates for the distance from downtown. The nearby restaurants and coffee shops are a great way to start a morning of exploring the city. The wifi is a little weak, but that just gives you an opportunity to sit in the courtyard and drink coffee in the morning.

Small hotel in a quiet neighborhood not far from center (but you do need to walk about 20-25 minutes, so it's not in the center per se). Some nice little restaurants in the area, felt safe. The manager was very nice and put us up on the second floor with the balcony. Those rooms are good, though the bathroom smells a little moldy. The lower rooms face the inner space and are darker, not as nice (the "standard" room).
