Hotel room was fine, clean and quiet. Close to Zocalo & cafes there. Also good restaurant across from hotel, can't remember the name of it. Market stalls set up right in front of hotel, so bit tricky getting past back into hotel

I go to Oaxaca City on a regular basis. Usually I stay at Meson del Rey. It is centrally located, two blocks from the zócalo, close to the market and it is an easy place to get taxis. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. The prices are economical. In December, high season, the room for one person cost 680 pesos.... More

Nice building, loved the balcony and its view, central street but quiet at night. Good restaurant and coffe shop for breakfast nearby. Good beds, but small spartan rooms, very small lobby. I liked the place and the stay. We were a group of ten, spent one night, left our luggage and returned late in the evening before our night train,... More

Outstanding location and relatively quiet for that. Decent price for room size, though not very interestingly decorated. Beds were quite good, hot water was available round the clock, very clean bathroom

Two blocks from the main square, a quick easy walk to a great choice of resturants and fast foods. The Hotel is best described as basic but clean and well located. Complimentary bottled water was available on each floor. They did have smoking rooms available., and had safety deposit at front desk. The entrance to the room was two double... More

Nothing special, very little to complain about. My friend & I rented a double room for 3 nights. The place was clean. With the windows closed it was relatively quiet. The city had annoyingly loud fireworks throughout the day including early morning and late night. This was not the hotel's fault. My only peeve was that the wireless internet, which... More

I guess we were a little disappointed with this hotel, the main problem was that our room was next to a cleaners cupboard, with a large window right next to it. This kind-of removed a little privacy, as the curtains did not cover the window completely and you could hear very clearly what was going on outside in the hotel.... More

My friend and I have been going to Oaxaca for many years. We started in some upscale hotel overlooking the city which had wonderful points and views but not quite the feel of the town. We scouted the city and checked almost each and every hotel from 1 star to 4 stars, staying single nights in many. We fell in... More

Basing my decision upon the other Tripadvisor review, I reserved a room at the Meson. Arriving at the hotel, I was met with an utterly unwelcoming desk attendant. Upon entering my room, I discovered that my request for a quiet room away from the street had, contrary to a promise made when I reserved my tickets, not been fulfilled, and... More
