Homey and comfortable, beautifully furnished. Ideal for 3 couples as we rented all three rooms, each with private bath, and so had the entire house to ourselves. It offers a peaceful setting a few blocks north of the busiest tourist area, but easily walkable to all the popular restaurants, markets, etc. Lorena made everything easy. She was there to greet us on arrival and lives just a few blocks away. She was very responsive via WhatsApp and completely flexible to work with our schedule concerning arrival, departure, and timing for breakfasts. We stayed for 4 nights and the homemade breakfasts were a highlight. Every day it was a different and equally delicious Oaxacan dish, rounded out with local pastries, fresh fruit, and fresh-squeezed juice. The coffee was absurdly good and Lorena made sure there was a carafe of hot water available for late night tea. We were invited to make ourselves at home, and there was a nice selection of cold drinks and snacks to enjoy throughout the stay. The beds were comfortable and the individual AC units in the room were appreciated as it was unusually hot the week of our visit. Highly recommend this place, it felt like staying at a friendā€™s house, with all the charm, warmth and benefits of being hosted by a local.

We stayed with Lorena for 1 week during Dia de Los muertos. Having traveled extensively, this is one of my absolute favorite places I have stayed.

I spoke with Lorena several months ahead of time and she was already booked, but she was so lovely and helpful that I told her to notify me if she had any cancellations . She messaged me after we had already booked a non refundable Airbnb (50% refund) and we still opted to cancel our reservation to stay here. It was 100% worth it.

The house is beautiful, with lovely gardens, striking colors, and thoughtful design. I was not surprised to find out that her husband is an architect.

We stayed in the Jade room, which was lovely. It opened on to a small, beautiful patio that was bordered by flowers. The king bed was 2 twin beds put together, which is quite common in Mexico, and was very comfortable.

The daily breakfast was incredible. My partner is an excellent cook and food lover, and we both thought the food was delicious. Lorena had fresh squeezed Orange juice, coffee, and hot chocolate every morning. Then a plate of delicious fruits with a bit of yogurt and granola, baskets of bread, and THEN a main course . She easily accommodated my request for vegetarian food. We were so well fed at breakfast that we opted to do only 2 meals a day - breakfast and dinner.

That was enough to make this a wonderful place to stay, but on top of that, Lorena was so helpful with everything . We didnā€™t have a chance to do much planning before our trip and Lorena was like a concierge who helped curate a perfect stay. She knows so many people in so many towns and was able to help coordinate transportation to and from anywhere. We arenā€™t fans of organized tours other than city art tours, so we arranged a private guide through Lorena to the artisan towns. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to places we would have never found on our own to learn about the fabrication of alebrijes and clay pottery.

I canā€™t say enough about Lorena and her place. If you have a chance to stay with her, you absolutely should. She is even working on remodeling a new place and Iā€™m sure that will be equally special.

This lovely B&B is the perfect place to start your day in Oaxaca. It's located in a tranquil spot just a few blocks from Santo Domingo and within walking distance of museums, restaurants & shopping. Lorena, the hostess, was very helpful in arranging drivers for transport to airport and surrounding sites. We enjoyed the relaxing courtyards, and especially the delicious traditional breakfasts. We look forward to returning.

We felt so comfortable at Lorena's! The home is spacious and warm. The rooms feel private and yet also sweetly like you are in a home. The bed is VERY comfortable -- we slept so well! And Lorena is a wonderful host. Breakfast at her table gave us a taste of several of the dishes Oaxaca is known for and a chance to chat with her and meet other travelers. We could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go in central Oaxaca, and when we needed a taxi, Lorena called us one.

In addition, we had an evening flight on our check out day and Lorena welcomed us to consider the room ours until our departure time, which reduced our stress and isn't a generosity a hotel typically offers.

We would hope to stay with Lorena again when we return to Oaxaca!

This place is absolutely stunning! Lorena is a wonderful, helpful, and kind hostess, she always made sure that we were comfortable, well fed (the food is the best I have ever had!), and she was a wealth of information about the area and the culture. My room was gorgeous, spotless, and so pretty, I loved it!
The accommodation is within walking distance to downtown Oaxaca and the many attractions in the area. It is safe, well appointed, and it feels like a peaceful oasis with it's lovely light and thoughtful details.

Just returned last night from our amazing first time in Oaxaca city. Keep pinching myself because of the wonderful experience we had at estancia de Valencia And particularly with Lorena as our hostess!
We had two very comfortable And nicely decorated rooms for our stay!
Very clean with Meaningful personal touches such as containers of water and nicely laundered towels. The water pressure was great! It was located in a great area of town in which we could walk easily to the zocalo and other areas. But oh my goodness, those breakfasts! A special treat every day we were there and we stayed four nights. Lorena is the perfect hostess and helped us so much with arranging tours, getting cabs , Restaurant reservations and other things šŸ¤³šŸ¼ which make a stay even more personal and special. I felt like I had a friend when I left her beautiful, beautiful B and B.
I sure hope to return one day!

This place is the opening to Oaxaca. If you have never visited the town (and also if you have), this place it would give you the welcoming, starting from the breakfast, the beautiful table and the amazing hostess and chef who will advise you in what to explore and why you should explore those places.

The family that runs this bed and breakfast is from Oaxaca. That is why I strongly recommend you to start here an adventure that you will never forget.

We recently stayed at Lorenaā€™s lovely bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Jade room, which was warmly decorated with everything we would need. The air conditioning was a fabulous addition as the weather was warm while we were there. Lorena and her staff provided us delicious breakfasts each day. She also assisted us with ideas for a cooking class and made arrangements for a driver when we wanted to head out to the villages. Would love to bring our family back to Oaxaca and stay here again. The location is an easy walk to el centro de ciudad and very safe

Tranquil B&B located in the Northern edge of the Historical district. Close to locally owned restaurants and cafes, and walks to other districts to explore.
Lorena , the hostess, was very warm. She and the staff prepared a Oaxaca traditional breakfast each morning starting with a plate of lovely fruit. The menu changed daily.
Lorena also organized private drivers to take you outside the city for exploration in the many artisan and archeology sites .
I would love to revisit this beautiful B&B and see the wonderful people of Oaxaca. I always felt safe.

Greeted by Lorenaā€™s beautiful smile!
Estancia de Valencia is a wonderful B & B in Oaxaca City . With only 3 rooms and no children allowed it makes it a peaceful place.

Loved the colonial decor and the patio to have a cold Modelo. The house is immaculate and the breakfasts are a treat!

Walking distance to everything and at the end of the day come back to quiet and relaxation!
A few Restaurants nearby we loved:
La Biznaga-Taco Sireno-Cafe Arabia-
At Casa de Barrio: Cafe de Barro and Agavero

Espero volver algĆŗn dĆa!!
