We’ve been coming to Oaxaca & the Parador for several years and can wholeheartedly confirm the accommodations, staff, location, and restaurants, as well as the Oaxacan people, who are lovely, helpful and welcoming. The area is in the historic (1500’s) district with many interesting sites nearby as well as exciting ancient ruins. Shopping is excellent too. We have become friendly with others at the Parador and are both host and are invitees to dinners at the many excellent restaurants or informal get-togethers in our suites, or around the pool. Enjoy!

The Parador is great value, well located near all the activity, safe, clean and welcoming. It is on the Alcala just above the cathedral and so is in a slightly quieter area within easy walking to the zocalo. One thing to be aware of is that the suites have windows that open onto a common well in the center and sound does travel. Bring along your earplugs if that is an issue. The suites are very large and just as they appear in the photos. Staff are terrific - both office and cleaning. Javier, who manages the Parador, is a real gentleman and wonderful to deal with. We can highly recommend this place.

The suites are walking distance to anywhere! Just along the road from the Cathedral, restaurants, cafes, and the Zocolo, but far enough to be away from the honking horns and constant hum! We actually walked with luggage from the bus station (which might be a little farther than most people would walk with luggage at approx. 1km). There's a little cafe just around the corner that makes good coffee to start the day and a pool to help you relax at the end!! The suites are self contained units, and although the furnishings are a little dated, it had everything we needed - a kitchen, reasonable sized lounge room, 2 double beds and separate bath/toilet. The manager was very obliging and helpful. The only downside is that the hotel is built in a square shape with kitchen & bedroom windows all facing inward around a square. We literally could hear EVERYTHING!! At one stage we had to ask the manager to go and quieten down a room as they were shouting and keeping us all awake (which they did immediately so all good). So even though the road noise was not a problem it would depend on the visitors as to the noise level. We loved the nice clean pool and used it every day.

We found the Parador Sto. Domingo de Guzman to be the perfect place for us. Our apartment included a kitchen complete with basic dishes, flatware, utensils, and pans. All the water we needed was also included, and always provided upon request. The building and room was clean; and friends said the pool was cleaner than other hotel pools they had been in, and the pools at Hierve el Agua. The location is PERFECT, in the elCentro within walking distance from just about anything and everything. There is an organic market next door, another one just “up the hill” and a more traditional market close by. The staff are friendly and helpful; we worked together on our espanol and ingles, and had a good time. We are returning next year, same time, same place.

We have stayed here twice, each time for a month. The location is perfect, close to the center of Oaxaca but on a main street without heavy traffic. The “Parador” consists of several three-story buildings, with apartment-suites on each floor. Suites consist of a comfortable living area, bedroom, bath and an eat-in, well-equipped kitchen. Outside, there is a courtyard with ample parking for several cars and a small swimming pool where guests gather to cool off, read, talk and celebrate various events. Staff frequently join in and are consistently friendly and helpful. Suites are well-maintained and cleaned daily. In the immediate neighborhood there are several restaurants, an excellent coffee house and a food market several days a week. All other shopping is a within easy walking distance, as are the many cultural opportunities in Oaxaca. We count ourselves lucky to have found this!
