I had a really good experience at Hotel Carlota CDMX. This was my second time staying here. The price is great and the hotel is just what you need. Good (central) location and walking distance to some of the more bobo streets. The rooms are stylish, especially if you can request one of the rooms on the third floor with the roof terraces (my favorite). This also brings more natural light into the room. I like that it's an indoor/outdoor open air floor-plan, especially good during covid. Restaurant is just what you need. It's just what you need. some furnishing a little simple, but for the price, no problem. Professional. Last time I stayed here I actually made friends with some Aussies who I remain friends with! Something about the floor plan promotes a friendly environment. Recommend, Cheers.

The hotel is really really cool , decor makes you forget that rooms have almost no natural light .... Which is interesting but no for too many days. The amenities are nice too.

The restaurant offers an amazing breakfast , we loved it ! Absolutely! Drinks at the bar were good ! Appetizers
Really delicious too! Dinner was ok but I wasn't blown away!

Negative side: is super noisy..... You can hear people coming in late at night and you hear everything . When we stayed there was an event in the morning so they started working very early on it and woke us up.
Also the wifi didn't work in the room. We had to go to the pool or restaurant to have Internet .

Next time I will stay at a different hotel and will go there for breakfast !

My boyfriend and I stayed at Carlota for just one night. We arrived late (around 11pm), and were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who thankfully spoke English. Our standard room was super chic. Cool lighting concept, comfy bed, and the room came with robes and slippers! That proved fun when we decided to UberEats late night food into our room, while watching Netflix on the large flat screen SmartTV in the room. The bathroom left a tiiiiny bit to be desired (our cold water tap didn’t work; hot water was fine). However, as someone who appreciates the finer things in life, I loved that the complimentary bathroom products were all from L’Occitane en Provence. Overall, we had a comfortable and pleasant experience at Carlota, and will definitely stay here again should we find ourselves in Mexico City.

We had made a booking via booking.com and due to the coronavirus situation we couldn’t stay at there place.. We called them and explained them the situation that we were stuck in Mexico and had a last minute flight to Europe that we couldn’t miss if we wanted to come back home!
We asked them kindly just not to pay the cancellation fees (45$usd) that we would have to pay above the rate night (55$usd) that we would definitely pay.
They told us that it was booking.com that wouldn’t want to refund us but when we called booking.com they told us that they called the hotel for us and it was the hotel manager who was clear that he absolutely don’t want to offer us the free cancelation fees and that he want us to be charged for full not event half refund!!

So the hotel manager is firstly rude and above that the receptionist was a liar!

I can’t believe that in such situation like that a hotel doesn’t make a small gesture... really shocked

Just avoid this place you will be better in an other hotel trust me 🙏🏻

We stumbled upon this hotel thanks to hotel tonight, we extended our stay 3 times since we loved everything about this hotel. It is a boutique hotel in the Reforma district, we highly recommend it as it has an amazing restaurant and bar in the restaurant, and in the morning there are a group of about 3-5 cars that sell food on the corner. Each one of the cars has better food than the next in whichever direction you care to start. The front desk recommended the food trucks and we literally had breakfast there almost every morning. The hotel has literally, no joke or exaggeration, some of the friendliest staff We’ve ever encountered una hotel. Great teamwork, as a business owner I admire it immensely!
The hotel is situated in an area that allows you to easily commute by walking to the center of Reforma where the famous symbol of Mexico City the Angel de la Libertad is located.

The hotel is also pet friendly, very pet friendly actually, and there is a park for dogs literally two blocks away. We couldn’t have found a better hotel for what we needed.

Since i arrive at your hotel i felt in my second home, i was with a group our my friend with 6 more rooms, one of my friend was in 001 and Erick at front made a change of a better room in 3 floor because 001 is too noise, i eas in 104 and service at the restaurant is good too, but specially Erick in our whole stay made us felt like a luxury hotel i will definitely recoment to more friends your hotel.
Just as i feedback the girl at the front desk always looks in a bad mood and has a terrible service.. And also housekeeping sometimes is late because one of the cleaning girls told me they are just 3 chabermaids

The resturant, kun, that shares this space, is amazing. But under no circumstances stay the night! Check in staff is rude. Horribly managed hotel. + the 3 times I asked to see the manager, he was no help whatsoever. Not a people person. I reserved my room till Friday, and Monday they told me, no you have to check out Wednesday ". Apparently the non English speaking front desk staff, don't communicate with each other. Horrible front desk service, and staff hangs out at front desk checking internet. It's a pity as this is a smartly re designed older hotel. But as the resturant staff told me " yes it's a pity they really bring us down... We have people now who come to the resturant and spend a long time, but sleep /stay somewhere else."
For such a warm welcoming city, don't waste your time and money on such a disappointing front desk staff experience. There are way to many great hotels in town where the staff actually enjoys what they do.

The restaurant and the staff in general are of a good standard. But staying somewhere where electronic music was played full volume from morning (11am) to night (into the early hours), loud enough to be loud inside my room, was horrible. There was a party organized for the saturday I stayed there with no warning given to guests, so that the whole centre of the hotel was full of random people, with more loud music blaring. Bathrooms do not have a bath. Overall, the experience was not at all relaxing and bad value for money.

This hotel is very unique with a great boutique feel. The staff was great and the little restaurant on site was quite good. We stayed during the Formula 1 race that our team was working and all the reviews were great! Highly recommend this hotel!

What is the best way to get from the airport to Hotel Carlota?
Answer from Rporrangel
Mexico City, Mexico21 contributions9 helpful votes
It depends on the day you are arriving (because of the traffic). I would recommend you to ask for an Uber if you want to avoid the crowded subway. They will probably take the Main Street of “Insurgentes”, until they reach “Paseo de la reforma” It would take around 30 minutes.
