It is a fantastic hotel, the room is very comfortable, the bed is comfortable, the service is very good, especially that of Miss Elena from Reception and the general manager. The hotel is in a very good location of the place it makes you feel at home I repeat the service is incredible the breakfast is good it could improve but it is good I would recommend this place
This is a sweet little hotel in an old building in a great neighborhood, Condesa. We stayed on the top floor and had a terrace that was lovely (but hotel needs to put more of a barrier between the two adjoining terraces for privacy) The staff are great- especially Antoine who helped us with suggestions and reservations.
I recently went to CDMX with my wife to attend a wedding in Cuernavaca. We stayed one night at Hippodrome so we could visit some friends in the city before going to the weeding. We just loved it. The Condesa neighborhood is also really interesting, with plenty of options to eat. We went out for dinner and the area is safe. We walked the streets and really got captivated by some of the architecture and the parks and green spaces. The Staff was very hospitable and caring. It is quiet and elegant. And the antique elevator is a piece of art! Would definitely stay again.
Hippodrome Hotel Condessa is located in a great part of Mexico City, There are tons of options for coffee, food and outdoor space all within a very short walk. The building itself is beautiful and had a lot more charm than you would find in a modern hotel. The room we booked was nice, spacious and had a small balcony. Everything was perfect with the exception of the AC. The AC in our room did not blow cool air and would not get our room to a comfortable temperature for sleeping. I spoke with the staff multiple times and they said they were working on it. After a few nights they gave us a small fan, and then a bigger fan the following night, which still didn't get the room to a comfortable temperature. In reading past reviews it looks like broken ACs and then the staff providing a fan is somewhat frequent so this is my only flag for someone considering staying at the hotel.…
Beautiful, hospitable, comfortable and perfectly located! This hotel remains my favorite stay in Mexico city. The staff is hospitable, professional and resourceful. The room is impecable and full of good taste.
We stayed at Hotel Hippodrome for two nights, and we really wish we could have stayed longer! The place is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and took care of all of our needs. Don’t miss out on the amazing breakfast and afternoon drinks! They are totally worth it. Would definitely come back!
I need to describe our room PH2. This was the executive terrace category on the top floor. Our terrace was shared with another room. The doors to the terrace did not lock. Our neighbors could easily our room. Our room and the other room used to be one unit but the hotel put some kind of plywood or hollow-wooden-door barrier between them. It blocked no sound at all. The A/C didn't work. At all. It blew some air at ceiling height but it wasn't cooled. The front desk was unsurprised and said that someone would look at it the next day. I doubt that the A/C had worked in a long time. They brought us a small fan that did very little. The room itself was fine. The ceiling showed some water damage. It was definitely a bit "Roma" in that it seems like it was a very nice place at one time that hasn't had the love it needs. The elevator has one of those old-fashioned inner sliding gates which you must open and close manually. The elevator will not function unless it is closed after each use. People forget. On our floor the elevator door opened so as to block the corridor. Instead one must exit unsafely with the wide staircase next to you, and if you are more than one person you will need to step down onto the stairs after exiting the elevator, before you can close the elevator door. Try picturing loading and unloading luggage. I should stay that the staff was polite and did their best. They spoke very little English but still tried their best to communicate effectively. The location is fabulous.…
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at this boutique hotel. The staff here truly goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable and easy. They booked us a COVID swab in the hotel for travel home, found us transport to the airport and shoutout to Saul who helped us get a portable AC unit at 1 am when the AC was not working. Location is perfect for venturing out in Roma Condesa.
The WORST hotel stay ever. I feel that the staff and management are very unprofessional. The owner was shockingly rude. They made us feel very uncomfortable. One of the staff even laughed at me when I asked a question. The hotel had us sign their “rules” without reviewing some unusual ones with us. The funnest rule was no guests after 10 pm. Is this place a monastery? They even told a friend of mine that visited that he would need to leave the property before 10 pm. ( so weird and rude). I have never in my life had such a terrible experience. The hotel has terrible stairs and a nonfunctional elevator. The rooms are tired and a little dirty (carpet especially) The furniture was chipped and scratched and the mattress sagging and old. Essentially its very depressing. I had the largest suite in the hotel..it was supposed to be a luxury room but was quite the opposite. Between the terrible state of the hotel, the weird rules and the unprofessional staff and owner I couldn’t stay more than 1 night ( i had booked 4 nights) I checked out and went to the W polanco ( much better omg). The owner would not refund my prepaid american express booking so I paid 1000 dollars for this one terrible night ( very unethical on their part-borderline fraud) I then spent two days having massive diarrhea from the water provided by the hotel. So I had lots of reminders of this terrible place. DO NOT book. Its horrible.…
The team are fantastic, very hospitable and helpful. The hotel is super clean and super quiet. I stayed in the PH, and the suite was great, I very much appreciated the terrace. The location is also excellent for exploring both Condesa and Roma Norte by foot.
