This place is great. From start to finish, our stay at Stella was top notch. The staff greeted us kindly and gave lots of great recommendations for activities and restaurants around town. Every staff member was incredibly warm and friendly and seemed genuinely interested in us having a excellent experience. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.... More

The staff at Stella helped make my first trip to Mexico City a truly outstanding one. Everything about my stay was smooth, easy, and relaxing starting from when I made my reservation all the way through until I said goodbye. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to Ciudad Mexico, and based on my first visit it's... More

My boyfriend and I took a last minute vacation to Mexico City and were lucky to have found Stella B&B! The staff were wonderful, Angela was particularly helpful with both our reservation and some details w/r/t travel. The decor in the rooms and breakfast room were delightful and our room had a lovely view of the garden. I have several... More

We stayed at Stella for several days and got a good feel for the place. In terms of location, Stella B&B could not be better. It's near tons of great cafes and restaurants, and the B&B itself has nice, simple rooms and a cool aesthetic and our room was very clean. The staff was also friendly and helpful. That said,... During my recent visit to Mexico City I stayed 5 nights at the Red Treehouse Hotel and 1 night at the end of the time at Stella B&B. They are both in a great location in Condesa for walking, dining and drinking. My review of Stella might have been different if it was the only place I stayed in Mexico... More

My partner and I just stayed at Stella for 5 days. We had bedroom 1, and the mattress was new and comfortable- so those previous reviews were inaccurate by our findings. Sure a few bulbs were out on a mid century chandelier with many light fixtures in it, because it's a real place and not a ubiquitous hotel room with... More

We arrived Saturday afternoon. The manager told us he would be leaving att 4:00PM and that the only staff for Sunday would be the cook/cleaning lady. When we ask for recommendations for a restaurant we were given a map of Condessa and Roma that had restaurants. - good? bad? how far?can we walk, how would we call taxis. The bed in... More

Stella is an ideal place to stay to really get a feel for the Condesa area. Easy to walk to Roma as well, and lots of beautiful parks. No frills, but provided you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room it's great. Extremely friendly people (Raymundo) and the whole housekeeping staff were lovely and kind.

The La Condesa neighborhood was an excellent choice for lodging. After a busy day of sightseeing the neighborhood offered safety and multiple excellent dining choices. The Stella B and B offers a quiet lodging option. The breakfast were excellent with lots of choices. The staff were extremely helpful with advise and making arrangements. The downside was the bed which was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Stella is a bed and breakfast located on Amsterdam Avenue in the Condesa neighborhood, Mexico City. The house was designed and built in 1930 by Francisco Serrano, one of the great architects of his generation, who built the Edificio Basurto and Pasaje Polanco, among other Mexico City landmarks. The house was restored in 2010, respecting the original design and period finishes. The décor at Stella mixes art deco and vintage furniture with a stunning collection of Mexican contemporary art. It is clear that each piece of furniture, lighting and artwork has been chosen carefully to complement its specific space. Stella has seven rooms, four in the main house and three in a separate guest house. The hotel uses its own water treatment plant, a rain water retrieval system and solar panels as part of our commitment to the environment. ... more   less
