As I had a nightly layover in Mexico City I booked this Courtyard hotel. It’s conveniently located within walking distance next to Terminal 1. The staff, including the staff in their restaurant, was very professional during my short stay. The room was not furnished in a modern way and needs a little facelift to get up to date, especially the bathroom. I would choose this Marriott property again in the future, primarily due to its airport location.
We had a mixed experience. Hotel itself was very nice. Room was large and clean. Bed was so so. Pillows could have been better. Check-in was a bit slow as the woman who checked us in looked up the wrong name and so could not find our reservation for a while. The worst part was shuttle. The airport office was to be open until 10 PM. We were there at 9 and nobody was there. I tried to call the hotel. Called three times. Nobody ever answered. So we had to take a $22 cab for a 10 minute ride. We complained and they were good and gave us two free dinners. Good resolution.
I cannot say enough good things about the rooms here, but the restaurant was over-priced and the food was of poor quality. The rooms are clean, quiet and well put together. The bathroom was clean with a good-sized shower. The room looked out over the inner, covered courtyard (don't forget to shut the curtains in the evening, because everyone has a nice view of you). The television had a selection of channels. This is not unexpected because I have rarely had a bad experience at Courtyard by Marriott. Then there is the restaurant. Here is what we had: Two salads, a Cobb and a Thai Beef, both of which featured lettuce with brown ends signaling age, dressings that overwhelmed the salads and largely tasteless bits of meat and cheese. We preceded that with a starter of crispy calamari that had so little calamari it tasted like fried breading. The second starter of hummus was simply without flavor. The cost was in the neighborhood of $60.00 U.S. Sadly, the only option is to take the very short walk into the airport where you have a wide selection of airport food. Choose the airport food, it could not be worse. …
I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times. Every single time it is excellent. Obviously there is a degree of functionality and convenience associated with staying at an airport hotel. That said, rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I love that the hotel is so conveniently attached to terminal one. The airport porters will take you directly to the check in so you don’t need to navigate the massive airport. Staff is great. Gym has everything you need. Food quality is the only thing that leaves a little to be desired. But again, it’s an airport. So… Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.
I had an overnight layover in Mexico City and although it ended up only being for a few hours, was very happy in my comfortable room at the Courtyard. I flew into Terminal 2 and it was after midnight but I was still able to call and get the hotel shuttle. I appreciated how they meet you inside the terminal in front of the hotel office and walk with you to the shuttle. The front desk staff was lovely offering me a beer upon check-in, which was much needed after my long travel day. The room was well-appointed and clean and the hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Getting the shuttle back to Terminal 2 in the morning was also easy and seamless. Great service and stay all around.
rooms ok,very low quality at the restaurant and very poor service. good check inn and transportation from the hotel to the airport. My advice? stay but do not eat there. We avoid breakfast because the dinner experience
I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and I’ve always enjoyed my stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I don’t speak fluent Spanish so they were very accommodating in speaking in English during my check in/out process. It is a very short walk to T1 and the small restaurants within that terminal. The shuttle to T2 is quick and easy. The hotel is also located right above the bus terminal which was very convenient. The restaurant in the hotel is good and has a variety of options. I always stay here when flying in/out.
Pros: close to the airport, no need to leave the airport premises, clean room, no shower curtain, comfortable enough bed, decent restaurant downstairs for a filling Mexican breakfast. Cons: there is no signage in the airport, so first timers would likely have a hard time making their way to the hotel. You may want to ask a security guard. If I have to overnight in Mexico City or get in on a late flight, I will stay at this hotel.
Very disappointed with the hotel. Dated. We specifically said we would be checking in at 6am. Room not ready. Give us a room that is 2 beds (requested a king), which would have even been fine but smelled like damp mold (and there were towels all over the hallway floor from some sort of leak/flood). Waited another 20 min (after flying all night, all you want is the bed you paid for)… I have to believe there are better airport hotel options in CDMX
I have been in Mexico for four years and traveled over 100 times from Mexico City airport I never knew this Courtyard Marriott even existed. It is attached to the airport via skywalk to terminal one. As we are flying very late at night to Europe so I checked in in the morning just to have a place to spend the day, stress free, and deal with the bags. I was upgraded to a suite and the hotel is absolutely beautiful, spotless, and the staff is just fantastic. I’m shocked because I have stayed between 400 and 500 nights in Marriott hotels the last couple years and have Ambassador status. Courtyard is my least favorite brand of all Marriott hotels. That is now changing as last month I stayed at a Courtyard in Aruba and very much enjoyed it (see review) and now I stayed at this Courtyard and it is awesome. You don’t even know you’re at the airport… it’s like an oasis and I heard no airplane noise. Anyway, I’m not sure I’d stay at this hotel for vacation in Mexico City but when you’re dealing with pets, family, bags, and you just want to rest near the airport a night, this place is the best choice. I wish I could remember the guys name that helped me with my bags but he was great. He helped us get checked in at airline and dealt with our 16 bags! Good job by all.…
