After flying in from London at 4 am and waiting a few hours for my connecting flight, all flights were canceled due to fog. I was exhausted and frustrated due to the lack of information from the airlines on next steps. After being placed on a late night flight, I needed a safe place to rest and recharge after a disastrous travel day. Courtyard to the rescue!

I called the front desk and asked if I could book a room just for the day, and the manager kindly offered me a room for six hours at a very reasonable rate. I was picked up from the terminal by a friendly shuttle driver and quickly brought to the hotel. Complementary food and snacks awaited me at check in and I was whisked away to a clean, safe, comfortable room for a much needed nap and rest. I ordered room service and enjoyed the wifi for a few hours and it was exactly what I needed to recharge.

Thanks to the Courtyard for being so kind to a sleepy, frustrated solo female traveler. I would happily stay here for a layover in the future.

located inside mexico city airport terminal 1, actually a bit hidden, close to the coach station area.

good staff, efficient and polite. check-in and out were smooth, concierge was helpfull, waiters at the restaurant were professional...

room was very clean and maintainance acceptable.

good room: excellent bed and pillows, an empty fridge, a coffee maker (with free supply for one coffee only), hairdryer, pressing facilities, large tv, a balcony in my case. poor toilet amenities. the property advised that due to covid, rooms are not clean until the third night (wonder why, apart of saving money in cleaning staff!). water pressure should be improved.

free wifi was ok

breakfast was ok.

pets are accepted for a fee of usd 40 per night.

soundproofing was poor, i recommend rooms overlooking the covered cortyard (without balcony) than those overlooking the airport with a balcony as there was too much noise.

parking facilities available at 15 usd / day if i remember well.

there is a gym that i did not use.

they offer free transfer to terminal 2.

not the best airport hotel i have been, but nowadays this is the best option to sleep in mexico city airport.

i will use this hotel again for a stopover night in the airport, rather than the other ones.

I cannot say enough good things about the rooms here, but the restaurant was over-priced and the food was of poor quality.
The rooms are clean, quiet and well put together. The bathroom was clean with a good-sized shower. The room looked out over the inner, covered courtyard (don't forget to shut the curtains in the evening, because everyone has a nice view of you). The television had a selection of channels. This is not unexpected because I have rarely had a bad experience at Courtyard by Marriott.
Then there is the restaurant. Here is what we had: Two salads, a Cobb and a Thai Beef, both of which featured lettuce with brown ends signaling age, dressings that overwhelmed the salads and largely tasteless bits of meat and cheese. We preceded that with a starter of crispy calamari that had so little calamari it tasted like fried breading. The second starter of hummus was simply without flavor. The cost was in the neighborhood of $60.00 U.S.
Sadly, the only option is to take the very short walk into the airport where you have a wide selection of airport food. Choose the airport food, it could not be worse.

I have stayed in Marriott properties more than 30 years and by far this was the worst restaurant breakfast experience I have had. With the restaurant nearly empty, it took 20-30 minutes to present an omelet. I asked for water, they brought a bottle without me requesting one (60 pesos, >$3 USD) and it was warmer than room temperature. How did they do that, Did they store the bottles in the sun?

The warm water was offset by the cold hash browns and cold toast. The hash browns were tiny triangles, of the frozen food variety. For toast, and only 1 slice BTW, it had barely any browning color at all. The toast was served without anything to put on it such as butter or jelly, nor did the waiter ask.

As here, it is common in Mexican restaurants to offer you the credit card machine so you can semi-privately choose a tip amount to enter (or decline a tip). But also common to Mexico is that the first option is 10% and they go up from there. At this hotel the first option was 15%, which would apply to a country where tipping is normal (like USA), not one where it is discretionary (Mexico). So starting at 15% is a trick used by Mexican restaurants seeking to take advantage of ignorant foreigners.

A meal in any Marriott property is usually a pleasure. This one made me regret the entire experience, moment by moment. Could not possibly eat there again. But the point of a hotel is a room, and on that count this hotel was excellent. Hence, an overall rating of 3 rather than 1.

Worst food, terrible restaurant service and no customers. It was empty and they would make us wait 15 minutes for a beer Apparently after 1 glass of Chardonnay, they ran out. Front desk woman was AWFUL!!! Rude and dismissive. It is convenient to the airport for an early flight, but the food and drink inside the airport are better than this hotel. Except for the bellman, the staff was ineffective and uncommunicative. Stay for an early flight but don’t waste your time on anything else. The restaurant was empty for Super Bowl 2025, so why such terrible service? We walked out before the first quarter ended. I would rather be sober in my hotel room than be seated at the bar with zero service. We had to buy chips at their stupid convenience store so we wouldn’t starve. So very disappointed after 3 great weeks of food and drink in Mexico.
So stay in the room but don’t waste your time or money (most expensive glass of Chardonnay in 3 weeks - and then they “ran out “) on food or drink. Also- try to skip the woman at reception if possible. Go for anyone else at one of the check-in desks. She must hate her job. She’s the worst experience we had in Mexico. Wish I knew her name. I’d call her out.

I have been in Mexico for four years and traveled over 100 times from Mexico City airport I never knew this Courtyard Marriott even existed. It is attached to the airport via skywalk to terminal one. As we are flying very late at night to Europe so I checked in in the morning just to have a place to spend the day, stress free, and deal with the bags. I was upgraded to a suite and the hotel is absolutely beautiful, spotless, and the staff is just fantastic.

I’m shocked because I have stayed between 400 and 500 nights in Marriott hotels the last couple years and have Ambassador status. Courtyard is my least favorite brand of all Marriott hotels. That is now changing as last month I stayed at a Courtyard in Aruba and very much enjoyed it (see review) and now I stayed at this Courtyard and it is awesome. You don’t even know you’re at the airport… it’s like an oasis and I heard no airplane noise. Anyway, I’m not sure I’d stay at this hotel for vacation in Mexico City but when you’re dealing with pets, family, bags, and you just want to rest near the airport a night, this place is the best choice. I wish I could remember the guys name that helped me with my bags but he was great. He helped us get checked in at airline and dealt with our 16 bags! Good job by all.

When my son and I arrived at the hotel it was past 10pm, we had been travelling for 7 hours and we were tired and hungry. The hotel was difficult to locate as they don't have any directional signs within the airport. We asked for directions and the first directions were not correct and the second directions got us there in the end. When we got to reception the woman was friendly, but she did not give us crucial information which we could have really used. Firstly she didn't give us directions to the room, we had to wander around with our heavy suitcases until we found the lifts which were far away from reception. When we go into the lift we pushed floor 2 and the lift didn't move. We waited and tried again and nothing. I stood out of the lift and a man with a luggage trolley was coming towards us and I asked him for help. He told me that I needed to use my room key to operate the lift and he also told me that he could have carried our luggage up to our room. The woman in reception never told us this which angered me as it would have saved us hassle. When you're tired and hungry after a long day of traveling you need to be given all the information needed to get to your room as easily as possible

What a pleasant surprise! From the friendly meeting office at the airport to the driver who came running to get us and our bags to the clean and spacious room, this was an outstanding visit. The included transfers were comfortable and on time with the same helpful driver at night and in the morning. A bellman whisked our bags to the room. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks in the relaxing dining room. We then had a good night’s sleep followed by a strong, warm shower with fluffy towels. What more could you want? I’ve stayed in 5-star hotels that couldn’t get the basics right as well as this gem of an airport hotel.

I’d rate this hotel 1 out of 5, first being Marriott Gold member I have stayed at many Marriott Hotels around the World and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had.

First we picked this hotel because it was a quick stay for a connecting flight.

We went to the Marriott door in the Airport and the door was locked, after calling the hotel they had no ideas why there was not a representative there to greet. Us for the shuttle, After waiting 30 minutes and no one came we took an Uber and paid 20 dollars. Again they have their own shuttle service.

After checking in and being tired at 11 pm we went to sleep an awoke to the smell of sewer gas in our hotel room at 1 am. It was the worst smell and kept both my wife and I up, we had to be up at 7 for our connecting flight and we didn’t not want to change rooms.

The room are old and outdated, they water in the toilet is blue so I’m not sure if they used reclaimed water and the cause of the sewer smell.

The front desk said they would have a manager contact us and would remove the 20 dollars spent and check the room. To this date no person had contacted us.

The worst customer service I’ve had at a Marriott Hotel, I’d recommend the several other hotels in the area.

The St. Regis this is not, but I must say the cleanliness, hospitality and overall customer service is wonderful. After a 32 hour journey from Bangkok to México City via Amsterdam, this hotel was a welcome respite from a long journey.
This certainly is a stark contrast from their sister hotel JW Marriott in Santa Fe, Mexico City which is POOR AT BEST!! Maybe the JW Marriott in Santa Fe can send their employees to this location for customer service training skills.
