This is a family run hostel , I found it comfortable and enjoyed breakfast each morning included in a reasonable price. As the family is local they were able to give pertinent and helpful information as to how to get around and what to see. There was no fuss and I was made to feel part of the family.

Lovely people, close to everything, get a room with your own bathroom, simple but comfortable, would stay here again. Having to ring the doorbell to get in and out was annoying as well as the sleeping guy in the hall snoring...there was also some loud machine that turned on early in the morning and late at night right under my... We only spent one night at the hostel, the location is very good and in a safe area, just behind the US embassy, 5-minute walk to aseo de la Reforma and 10-minutes to Insurgentes Metro station. The staff is very friendly, they make you feel like home. The room we had was very spacious, with our own bathroom. The breakfast... More

DF is gorgeous! But this place just isn't. It's old, badly maintained and the downside of a 24-hours-reception is a sleeping and snoring guy in the entrance hall who is there to let you in during your stay. The key only works for the room but not for the entrance door so you always have to ring the doorbell. Beware... More

I want to rate for 3.5 stars but there is no option for this. Good points : 1. Very clean, spacious and well designed and decorated hostel. 2. Situated in a very safe commercial area. 3. Most of the family members are helpful and friendly (but not all) 4. The breakfast is home made and it is different everyday. 5.... More

It doesn't boast of much seen from the outside in the quiet streets near the US Embassy, but inside the building you will find a very cosy and charming family driven hostel where the staff is always ready to help you. The rooms are neat and decorated in a lively Frida Kahlo'sk way, and the neighborhood feels very safe in... More

This hostel is well-located and attractively decorated but those features aren't enough to tempt me back. The walls are super thin and you can hear all noises at night. The guy downstairs snores so loudly you could think he's in your room. The breakfast is terrible and I suspect they deliberately discourage you by starting preparations at 9:00, a bit... More

This was the best experience we have had in Mexico City. We were there just last week, during Christmas 2015, and it was warm and wonderful. The reason for that was the family. They were sweet and helpful. They included us in their celebration. We got to meet everyone from the mother and father, the sons and daughters and grandchildren. The... More

We arrived on a Monday night exhausted from our travels but were made feel very welcome and at home at Dos Fridas. Would definitely recommend it and it's pretty central. The room was perfect and the use of natural light and colours throughout the house was amazing.

My friend from Mexico recommended this place. I couldn't be happier. I was easily able to make a reservation by phone on the same day I flew to Mexico, the neighborhood is quite safe (near the US embassy) and the owners are very friendly. And the place is wonderfully decorated, with originally artwork themed after the famous artist, Frida Kahlo.... More
