Hotel Villa Condesa is in the great walking and food neighborhood of Roma Norte, close to the Museo Antropologica. Simple facade opens into a nice courtyard, with great plants, and an indoor/outdoor breakfast spot. Breakfast was excellent, with a basic but tasty fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, to which you can add anything you'd like. Room was nicely furnished and quiet, despite facing the street. (My friends had an even better room, with a balcony.) We got great help from our concierge Hector, who gave us recommendations, helped us buy tickets to the Frieda Kahlo museum, and, most graciously, did not charge us when we had to return early to the US due to the coronavirus nonsense. Overall, an excellent establishment! We're planning a return to it once we all get through the virus pandemonium.

I chose Hotel Villa Condesa from past reviews and it was exactly what we wanted - a quiet calm retreat from bustling, huge Mexico City. It is located in the lovely Condessa neighborhood where we got deliberately lost ambling from street to street. Great little restaurants and coffee shops. Hotel Villa Condessa is located near two charming little parks where locals take their children, walk their dogs and “canoodle” on park benches. We could Uber anywhere in the downtown, historic area. Also Hotel Villa Condessa has Hector on its staff- no small thing. He was always available to help us out, give suggestions etc.

We spent six nights here and were very happy. Our first room was lovely but above the kitchen, so quite noisy, but they were happy to move us after two nights and the next room was very quiet and comfortable. Great location for exploring Condesa and Roma, it is in a beautiful neighbourhood and we felt very safe. Super friendly and helpful staff, very clean, nice linens etc. No amenities in the room (tea, coffee etc) but a great complimentary breakfast so that didn’t really matter. Bikes available to borrow and nice courtyard to spend time in, with the option to order food and drinks all day. Would definitely recommend this spot and would stay here again.

The biggest difficulty we had was finding the hotel. Its on a residential street, the bulk of the hotel was a home, and there is no sign our front. You can find the number but its not easy, especially if you arrive at night like we did. Once we entered we were pleased to find a nice walkway with plants a some and other items and a area. Check in was smooth. I would describe the staff as generally efficient, friendly but not warm. Our second floor room was a decent size with lots of storage. The same with the bathroom. The bed was a queen. It was okay but we would have preferred a king.. Some rooms do have king beds and patios. Our room had a nice window. Some rooms are smaller and don't get a lot of light so know what you are getting. The room was quiet. Nice breakfast with some choices in a pleasant enclosed outdoor area. They also serve dinner. The neighborhood was quiet. Its a relatively short walk to some good restaurants and stores but its not as in the middle of things and active as the Roma Sur area.

Tasty 2 course breakfast every morning Friendly staff Couple of negatives : our room had a glass panel in the bathroom door which allowed light from the bathroom window into the bedroom continuously which we had to cover with a throw at night to achieve darkness in our room. The older style of the property means that noise does very easily travel from room to room and also the outside courtyard depending on the position of your room..if you're a light sleeper you may struggle .
