This is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful restaurant with a great view of the Zocalo. The included breakfast was delicious and every staff member was extremely gracious- they even gave me a plate of tacos as I had told them how much I enjoyed a taco food tour! A free walking tour is also included. I would not hesitate to stay in this wonderful hotel again!

This hotel was far better than we were expecting starting with the very pleasant smell one can pick up upon entering the lobby area for check-in.

Rooms are really nicely appointment with anything you may need, are perfectly isoled from the street noise and are spacious, some zocalo-facing suites even feel bigger due to high ceilings.

Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant is a perfect way to start a day of exploring Mexico City with a mini buffet where you can find the usual fare. Something worth noting for those with a sweet tooth is that pastries are baked in house which means they are truly fresh and very tasty.

There's a cafeteria located next to the front desk which is open 24 hours a day. It's a great place to have a cup of coffee or tea, have a sofa, eat a sandwich, all of it on a complimentary basis.

Wifi is free of charge and it really works.

There are 2 lifts at this hotel which tend to get a bit crowded at certain times of the day so I would always allow for a few minutes to ensure you move around the hotel.

To sum this up, this is a perfect option for those who wish to stay in the old part of Mexico City. If your business is going to take you to the Polanco area, you may wish to consider choosing another location for your stay.

What a great city boutique hotel perched right on the edge of the famous Zocalo square. Beautifully appointed king room with great shower in a quiet location (room 312) offered a side view of the cathedral, but was high enough to avoid street noise from the square and the daily demonstrations. It was great to be able to step out and have the main attractions on the doorstep. The hotel recommended a bar just two blocks up the road (Pata Negra), that serves great tapas and pizza. The hotel restaurant, Balcon de Zocalo, offered a good breakfast (but poor coffee) and a very good, and sophisticated menu for lunch and dinner on a terrace overlooking the Zocalo (reservations necessary). The staff were great - best feature was a 24/7 coffee bar where coffee, and other non alcoholic drinks, fruits, yogurt, salads and sandwiches were available at no charge to hotel residents. A great antidote to jetlag wakefulness! Highly recommended.

I was being delighted with my recent stay at Zocalo Central. First of all, the location is amazing. You are literally 2 minutes form the Zocalo, and the hotel is beautiful; The rooftop is the best I have seen 8in Mexico City. My husband and I are temporarily living in Coyoacán and decided to stay in the City Center for New Year’s Eve of 2021/2022. We were very glad we did because we enjoyed every minute of our stay and this hotel has many amenities that I have never seen before, but loved. They have mini fridges on every floor with bottled water to take at any time. The included breakfast is delicious, and the staff are so friendly. We were told at check in that we could us the café “for anything except for alcohol,” so we assumed we could get free coffees. Wow, we were mistaken. We came to get a coffee on the 2nd night of our stay and realized that there is a full menu of complementary items including salads, snacks and enormous sandwiches. I have never seen this benefit at a hotel and it was really above and beyond. Mexico City hotels are quite reasonable in price, but when you consider the location, amenities and service, this hotel is totally WORTH IT.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights at the end of February. It was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The location couldn’t be better, it is convenient for all the main attractions in the historic centre, and the stunning views from the restaurant must be amongst the best in Mexico City. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast, watching the sun rise over the west front of the cathedral. It’s a mixture of American/European, but with some fascinating and extremely tasty Mexican options. If there is something you fancy that’s not on the menu then they were pleased to cook it for you.
I would recommend eating here at least on one night, the food is exquisite, but it was by far the most expensive meal we ate during the whole of our trip, but we considered it value for money given the quality.
The complimentary snacks and drinks including local beers in the ground floor cafe were a revelation, we kept expecting there to be a catch but there simply isn’t any.
The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help, from organising taxis to a car and driver for a trip to Teotihuacan. The room was quiet, clean with a high ceiling, unfortunately there was no view to speak of.
Finally there is a fridge on every floor with complimentary bottled water

Zocolo is centrally located and I highly recommend the location for a first visit to Mexico. The staff were very helpful as I cannot speak Spanish and I felt comfortable at the hotel as was able to ask questions etc and they were very helpful with the language barrier. On arrival I was welcomed with a cool drink of water or Tequila, greatly appreciated after such a long journey from Australia . Jose Luis was very friendly and assisted me with my luggage to my room. The rooms are a good size and I was able to hang some of my clothing in the wardrobe. The views from the balcony restaurant are breathtakingly beautiful. Breakfast was included in my stay but unfortunately due to business commitments I only made it up to breakfast once. The restaurant I highly recommend. Be sure to make a reservation to obtain a balcony view. I will say that on one evening the staff were a little obnoxious which was disappointing as I had invited a friend to join me for a drink and a meal on my final night. I was only able to sit at the bar a little disappointed when I was a guest that had paid to stay for 6 nights. Overall the hotel was a good choice for my stay.

If you're looking to stay downtown this is the place, this hotel feels Mexican but modern, our room on the first floor was very small but smartly organized. Unfortunately, their gym is very very poor and depressive and the only treadmill in there is not working.
Balcon del Zocalo is a must for breakfast with buffet and menu options all included in your rate, from eggs to chilaquiles or pancakes. Erick Brandon Alonso is a rockstar with the service and he takes spectacular pictures that will look your Instagram fantastic.

With all of the many options for lodging in Mexico City, it was challenging to choose somewhere both my sister and my partner could agree on. We narrowed it down to the Hotel Zocalo Central, given it was located in the historic center of Mexico City, was close to a Metro station, and convenient walking to other sites nearby. Zocalo Central far exceeded our expectations. Even before our actual stay, I had contacted the concierge for help in purchasing tickets to the Ballet Folklorico at the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Ticketmaster Mexico was giving me problems with the purchase). Fernando Muñuzuri was gracious enough to help purchase the tickets we needed. When we did get to check into the hotel, we were offered a welcome sip of tequila at the front desk while all the paperwork was being sorted out. Our rooms were located on the third floor. Despite facing Calle Cinco de Mayo, our rooms were quiet and very well soundproofed from the hustle and bustle of the Zocalo a block away. The rooms were not big but never felt small. The bed and pillows were very comfortable after long days on tours or on our feet. The bathroom also felt roomy with a good sized standing shower that had great water pressure. Also to sing the praises of Fernando Muñuzuri again, he helped my sister and I to purchase bus tickets from Terminal Sur to Cuautla, as once again, we had difficulty making online transactions. Breakfast at the Balcon was included in our stay and do not miss going up there at least once. The dishes are tasty in and of themselves (especially the emoladas and the omelette with pumpkin flowers and chorizo), but if you can get a table on the terrace itself, overlooking the Metropolitan Cathedral, that's a Mexico City moment you cannot get anywhere else. Or if you want a nitecap with a view, get to the Balcon before they close at 22:00. The cafe on the ground floor is also an amazing benefit of staying here. Soft drinks, beers, and water were available free of charge, in addition to coffee, hot teas, and a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and other dishes. The service, the location, the amenities, and the comfort made this an amazing first (but not last) visit to Mexico City.

At first notice is the decor. Warm but sophisticated ambiance at every turn. beautifully displayed Mexican found objects, pieces of local craftmanship in antique curio cabinets (some available for sale), beautifully decorated room with Mexican art and ceramic accents. Lighting is dim and calming throughout all of the common areas including the gorgeous lobby atrium filled with diffused natural light. You will find the 24/7 Central Cafe in the atrium serving delish paninis free to guests. Housed on the rooftop Terrace you will enjoy outstanding views of el Zocalo and central CDMX via the Balcon del Zocalo Restaurant. It is exquisite upscale cuisine and cocktails in a warm, comfortable, relaxing environment. Also the restaurant is where you will enjoy a tasty free buffet breakfast as the sun comes up on el Zocalo. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is a bargain considering all of the amenities, it is immaculately clean, it is a gorgeous serene setting in contrast to a gritty and bustling city, ...and I would be remiss if not to mention the superlatively warm, gracious, attentive service. Top notch!

Definitely, you should notify the hotel receptionist. This is for your own safety as they only know the person/people originally checked in that room. Enjoy Zocalo Hotel. The staff are all professional and friendly.

Our suite was right across from the cathedral with an amazing view of the zocalo (the extra cost is worth it). Rooms do not have balconies at this great hotel. My advise would be to get up early (to ensure a good table location) to see the sun rise as you quietly enjoy breakfast at the rooftop restaurant which overlooks the zocalo. This would be the perfect time of the day to enjoy the view and snap a few pics. Later on, just step into the sounds and colours of the zocalo itself as that is where you'll probably wish to be. Enjoy your visit to the ancient aztec capital!.
