I booked this hotel because of the area, the reviews and it is a Marriott property. I am so glad I did. I was only in for a short stay, 2 nights, but the staff, location, and breakfast are wonderful. I'll come back but next time, not for work. :) Their driver Carlos was wonderful and the whole team so accommodating. Definitely use them for the airport transport.
We spent the first few days of our honeymoon at Las Alcobas. This hotel is in the beautiful Polanco neighborhood and easily walkable to many sites, shops, and restaurants. Our pick up at the airport was seamless and the room was inviting and very comfortable. The front desk staff was accommodating and eager to help (offering directions, bottles of water, arranging car service). The architecture of this hotel was stunning and I loved how small and yet accessible it was. I can't wait for our return trip - it was wonderful!
The reviews here were key in my choosing of this hotel and it beyond delivered. The staff was exceptional - attentive, friendly and so accommodating. Aaron, the concierge, helped us plan a perfect itinerary with transportation, lunch and dinner reservations the days we were there and we were so delighted with his selections. Our favorite meals were at the places he booked for us. I cannot say enough. We look forward to our next visit! Thank you for hiring the best at this hotel. Do not lose your staff, they truly made it the perfect experience.
Just got back from a 3 night 4 day stay. The hotel is located in Polanco near plenty of restaurants and cafes that can be reached on foot. Believe the reviews that say how attentive the staff is. They accommodated our every need. We had trouble buying museum tickets to Casa Azul from the States . I reached out to the hotel a few days prior to our trip and they booked the tickets for us. They also organized transfer to the airport for us with an excellent driver. The hotel and room were clean and well maintained . Our trip also included a small but delicious continental breakfast that had fresh juice, coffee , fruit yogurt parfait , and a basket of fresh pastries. . I would recommend this place hands down over any of the big hotel names. Looking forward coming back one day. Thank you to the staff and management for a wonderful stay!…
The small boutique hotel is definitely a gem in terms of room styles in Mexico City and the location is great to walk around but overall we were disappointed. The rooms are very expensive, even for Europe, not only for Mexico and then they charge you for sparkling water and cappuccino at a breakfast that’s included. While the staff at the reception is very friendly (although things didn’t always work out as they said), the staff at the breakfast was rude and it felt like they didn’t want to be there. I speak fluent Spanish, so it was not a language barrier. We felt like we were disturbing them and the service was bad. But then they keep reminding you to put tip on the bill (of an included breakfast). I have lived in 10+ countries and always up for adjusting to local customs but not if I pay European 5 star prices, then I think this is not appropriate. My parents and I generally tip very generously but we were all very confused and annoyed by that. Especially as the service was very bad. The rooms were not done when we came back from breakfast (should be possible at such a small Hotel) but the doorman (he was amazing and super nice. Definitely the best thing about this hotel) asked, shall we make up your room now whenever one of us walked outside. Interesting concept. Especially with 3 people in the room. We booked a room for 3 people which was tiny. The light concept of the room was very interesting. With digital and button option to turn various lights on and off. We never found all or the room went black. Was quite difficult to handle. So while I enjoyed the location a lot, I simply don’t think this is worth the money. For me luxury is not only nice wooden walls, but also good service.…
Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The room was beautiful with a GREAT bathroom. The hotel is exquisite with all the details cared for. The restaurant was delicious. But, the most important of all was the service. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, polite, helpful and seemed to want to do the best job they could. Kudos to the general manager. Alex Mendeok, for training his staff and making sure the guests experience is 100% wonderful from first moment to last. Location can’t be beat with numerous restaurants, cafes, parks, shops within a few blocks. Very safe neighborhood.
This is simply the only option when you are looking for a place to stay in Mexico City. The room has every amenity you could wish for, including the most amazing complimentary mini bar. We didn't touch most of it while we were there since we were eating out so much, but we took some of the snacks home with us and immediately regretted not clearing out the mini bar every day (they did restock!). Do not sleep on Anatol, which serves the best cocktails we had anywhere in Mexico (and food rivalling most high end restaurants, including Pujol). Finally, the service here was impeccable, a perfect blend of polish and warmth, not to mention attention to detail. You will be well taken care of here.
What an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel and rooms are beautiful. Small boutique 5 star hotel. Service was amazing. The GM Alex was 10 star! A true hospitality professional - genuine and caring. Thanks also to Ricardo who was a big help throughout our stay. This is definitely the hotel to stay at in Mexico City. Much more personal than the 5 star towers on Reforma and a much more charming location. Great restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Dear Trip Advisor Aficionados It must be said we are frequently in Mexico for business however...once in a while look to have 3-4 days of R.R. 90% of the time we choose Mexico City. Thru trial and error we discovered Las Alcobas approximately 4 years ago and have found this "gem" in the Polanco district shines brighter with each visit It is ideally located within easy & safe walking distance to intimate and great restaurants, parks, museums, shops, flower markets and undeniably centered to absorb the richness and generosity of this culture. Las Alcobas can confidently boast of a genuinely kind, hardworking, sincere and intelligent staff able to quickly address whatever your situation or need you might request. The rooms are perfectly appointed with ample storage, large windows and a divine shower & spa tub -- positioned to expertly melt away the stress one might have accumulated. I must note we have stumbled on many a well appointed dwelling in our wide travels but the defining factor is inevitably the staff. Emmanuel Peralta, Aaron Varela and Carlos Martenez are those we know and have had the great pleasure to work with but clearly there are many we have yet to meet integral to the 5 star category this property deserves. Kudos the the management with the foresight to hire the best! If you are headed to Mexico City do not hesitate to book early as they have a deep and loyal following so rooms go quickly. You will not be disappointed. Many many thanks to all at Presidente Masaryk 390 Polanco. We look forward to our next mini holiday with you.…
Las Alcobas was excellent in every way - our room was fairly small, but extremely well designed - nice bathroom amenities, great water pressure in shower, good storage in closet and drawers. The mini-bar offered complimentary snacks, water, non-alcoholic beverages - such a nice touch! Staff at the hotel were all very well trained, helpful, and friendly.
