This hotel is close to the Zocalo, a few blocks. Be forewarned that the hotel is on a walkway, so you have to take your bags about 50 feet or saw from the street. It is a old hotel and in the process of upgrading. We went during the high season of Day of the Dead and the hotel lobby...

Pros: Close to all sightseeings. Cons: just Spanish speaking staff (even on reception), obsolete building, furniture, sanitary equipment. Chambermaid may wake you up at any time, even at 6 a.m. Waiter may ask you to pay even for prepaid breakfasts((

My daughter and I stayed one night. We felt comfortable and fairly secure. We walked to Bellas Artes to see the Ballet Folklorico and walked back when it was over. The room is not air conditioned but has a fan. The bathroom was up to date and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good.

This is a very basic hotel but it was clean and the location is on a pedestrian street in the Historic area between Zocolo and the park. Easy walking to great restaurants and major attractions and only a few blocks from the on/off bus. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small bar area near the reception and...

The hotel is the oldest I ever slept in. Being on the 4th floor you open the window and to the building across the street you have nude man and woman statue laying on their sides, felt like we were being watched. The breakfast layout was a treat. The elevator is modern, to reach the room was challenging for the...

Great service, excellent location, friendly staff, very clean and newly renovated. Two blocks from the Zocalo and metro stops, good restaurants, shopping, cafés and bars within a short walk. Bottled water in the room which was restocked daily for us. Some staff spoke English and they helped us set up tours. Picture is the view from our room.

Fabulous location on pedestrian street: Calle Madero; a pleasant walk to the Zocalo, and centro historico. Very cordial, responsive staff. Cozy, comfortable lobby. Could have had a room at the back of the hotel, more quiet, but chose one overlooking the pedestrian mall, loved hearing the voices and rhythm of the activity on the street, and watching a steady stream...

Nice hotel, well located, and the staff are very friendly. I'm actually writing this review at breakfast, the food is excellent - well beyond what I expect from a breakfast buffet. Not too long of a ride from the airport and 300 pesos at most. Only negative mention would be around the water pressure but all in all it has...

1 star for calling a taxi that gave counterfeit change. It was only about $300 MX, but still, that's just not professional. I realized it when I took the next cab and barely had enough pocket money to pay the next driver. Lesson learned, but you would think you would be able to trust a service recommended by the hotel...

“Room 203 overlooks the street has a bath and shower, and has a router in the room so fantastic wifi reception.”
of 5 bubbles Thewanderingwinos, Jan 1, 2015 | Read review
“I recommend that you request a room that faces the street. While it seems counterintuitive in relation to noise, facing away from the street means overlooking either the outside patio area (third floor) which is a lovely spot for having a beer or glass of wine, but if people are out there and you're trying to sleep, it can get noisy. If you are really unlucky your room will overlook nothing, but you will be treated to barking concerts from the guard dogs in the jewelry stores that are attached to the hotel. While the dogs don't bark all night, when they do bark it is loud, and it can go on for 15 minutes or half an hour while the street noise dies down and does not pick up again 'til morning.”
