Comfortable and clean, only issue was shower wasnt powerful and hot water was temperamental.
Staff were polite.
10-15minute walk to nearest Metro line
Sunday market was a bonus, literally outside the hotel.
Local convenience shops closeby

The Stella Maris hotel in Mexico City, Mexico was a nice place to stay without all the frills of the expensive hotels. Our tour bus was able to drop us off and pick us up each day right in front of the door.

The lobby was clean, cozy and comfortable. No gift shop or convienence shop but there was one with ATM within walking distance (3 blks) if needed. There was no ATM machine but pesos were available to purchase from the hotel.

The hotel has an outdoor poolbar on the roof with an amazing view of the city, mountains and 2 active volcano's. The pool bar was not open as December is not the season but the pool and whirlpool was available for use.
There is also a park across the street.

The bar/restaurant had very good food in abundance. Fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juices and fresh bread are basics. Service was very good also. Open early but closed approx 9pm which was an inconvienence. There was no entertainment and the evenings after dinner did leave you with not much to do. There is however a restaurant a few blocks away which was open later.

The room was basic, no frills but comfortable. There was a television and telephone in the room. Some city noise could be heard but generally was not a problem.

2 bottles of water were provided each day since the hotel water is NOT purified.
Nobody in our 60 person group had gotten sick the entire week while there. We did use the bottled water for brushing our teeth and did not use any ice.
The delicious coffee and juices were safe to drink.

All in all, the hotel stay at the Stella Maris was comfortable and satisfactory. Simple and elegant without being overly fancy. Family friendly.
I would stay there again.

Stella Maris, located directly across from Sullivan Park, is a neat hotel designed for today's business or leisure traveler to Mexico City.
This hotel is close to the Zona Rosa, downtown, and the historic district. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. It has a wonderful restaurant with a changing menu every day from Paella, to great gourmet seafood and meat dishes at very reasonable prices. Alof of the hotel guests and local business community stop by for a relaxing lunch which usually starts about 1 p.m.

Most of the hotel guests are business people and the hotel goes out of its way to make sure the guest is satisfied. The prices are reasonable and will not give you the sticker shock that you get in the Zona Rosa, which is only a few blocks away. If you have to travel anywhere, just grab a cab in front of the hotel. For a few dollars you can go for few miles. This hotel is worth it!

Was very scared to stay here the night I checked in because 3 blocks before pulling in saw about 30 prostitutes. Once I came in I was uneasy about the location but the front desk guy was patient and explained that in the hotel I wouldn't see such and that Mexico City has a few "tolerant streets". My sister and I did not feel unsafe or worried staying here at all. Everything was clean. My only complaint is how extremely hard and stiff the mattress was!!! OMG!!! The restaurant in the hotel I super affordable and really good. Exceeded my expectations! The beeping noises of cars were heard not too early or too late in the day. It's just something you have to deal with in any major city. Fully recommend.

Hi, good day. Thank you very much for your feedback, the issue about the mattress it´s because they are new. We appreciate your comments and we´ll try to get better every day. Regards.

I had a terrible experience. If you get a room in the back, off the street, there is a dog that barks all night on the roof of a neighboring building. Then there was a party until 5 am. And when I complained the person at the desk was very rude and told me that he would have to move half of the hotel if everyone complained like I did and that if he did move me to the street side that I would complain about the street noise. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone. The food was also awful.

I LOVE this place! I've stayed here 3 times and the staff greets me each time as if I were family. The rooms are clean, comfortable. There is a wonderful park across the street where we have gone several times and have made friends there - dogs as well as people! The restaurant food is wonderful, the staff is courteous and always makes me feel special. I feel so comfortable here and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

We stay a weekend in this hotel from Friday to Monday and everything was Ok.

We arrived late at night so the reception time was very kind and helped us to have our room quickly, it only took around 3 minutes and then we was walking straight to our room, very great.

The room was a doble bed room with a nice balcony that has a view to a park, the room service was okay we had clean towels and free water everyday.

We did not taste the food in the hotel restaurant as we want to taste all the food in the city but we saw lots of people having a great time so we thought it was nice.

We barely talk to the staff because everything was ok and we did not need almost anything, a friend went to the laundry and said it was great and the staff helped him a lot, so it was great to.

Our check out was so quickly so it is a good point.

The surrounding areas were calm and looks very secure, we took walks in the middle of the night and everything was okay.

If you want to have a nice stay, keep in budget and just be there to sleep and go to know the entire city, this hotel will work for you. Not expect luxury. It worths for what you paid.

Staff awesome, rooms awesome, facilities okay.

I would stay here again for sure.

We chose this hotel because of the perfect location... Close to everything but in front of the park. We also liked the fact that it had a pool and was working but it was not heated, we knew that previously and used it after noon so it was warmer and it was tolerable. The view from there was cool! I liked the rooms, they were comfortable, kept them clean and there was A/C. It was quiet too! We will return next year because it was affordable for a longer stay and location is prime.

This is just a great hotel and it offers a lot of value for those who aren't looking for a lot of amenities. It's very clean, has a nice little lobby and a good restaurant. The rooms are small but nice and the bathrooms are modern and clean.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this place. As a solo traveler I feel safe and comfortable here, aided by a friendly staff.

The location is great, with a pretty little park across the street that hosts a fantastic market on the weekends.

I ate on the restaurant's glass porch and had a taco fix when I first got it. The internet works fine and the room has a flat screen tv with a few channels in English.

You'll like this place! It's a little gem and really affordable. I'd come here again without hesitation.

I did not have high hopes for this hotel. I booked it two days before arrival, so my hotel options were limited. My husband and I were on a budget and did not want to spend too much on a hotel knowing we would be outdoors most of the day. This hotel fit our needs perfectly. Yes, the rooms are quite small, but they are clean and the beds are comfortable. Good free wifi in the room and nice hot water in the shower (I take steaming hot showers, so this was a big plus). TV channels weren't so great. The hotel is a little far from a metro station, but it's a 10 minute walk to the Reforma/Angel de la Independencia. We were here for two nights and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel in a good area.
